1970 Chevrolet Chevelle Ss on 2040-cars
Fort Lauderdale, Florida, United States
1970 Chevrolet Chevelle coupe, one of the most desired muscle cars today. This car has about
2700 miles since the restoration (original mileage unknown) with Super Sport trim, upgraded overdrive transmission,
A/C interior and big block power.
The car was professionally resprayed the 1970-correct Cranberry Red with the black SS stripe package and a black
vinyl roof. The power bulge hood is a must-have on a Chevelle with the correct working cowl induction flap. It has
very nice chrome bumpers, blacked-out grille, hood pins and blacked-out rear panel.
The car is equipped with a big block 396 cubic-inch V8 painted Chevrolet orange with chrome valve covers and the
cowl induction air cleaner with the correct seal to the hood. The big block has a Holley four-barrel carburetor and
Edelbrock Performer intake with an HEI distributor . Exhaust is handled through long-tube headers to the stainless
dual exhaust. The transmission was upgraded to a 700R4 four-speed automatic transmission that includes overdrive
and a Bowler adjustable lockup controller that is located under the dash. It has a 12 bolt rear with I believe 331
gears. It has power steering, power brakes w/discs up front and 17 American racing mags with new tires, 245/45R17
in front and 255/45R17 in the rear. Equipped with LED taillights for great visibility. The car sounds great and
it handles very well.
Black vinyl seats, carpets, dash, gauges, console, and headliner are all freshly done as part of this recently
restored package. It has the Chevy three-spoke sports steering wheel on a tilt column, horseshoe shifter with the
correct shift plate for the overdrive trans and a full round gauge package with large speed and tach gauges.
Everything works even the clock! The stereo is a retro-style unit with AM/FM stereo with a USB port. The air
conditioning is blowing nice and cold with a new compressor recently installed.

Chevy Silverado Midnight Edition, Custom ready to stand out in pickup line
Thu, Feb 12 2015Chevrolet spent its Chicago Auto Show introducing a pair of fullsize pickups that promise image-conscious buyers a truck experience that goes beyond the standard range, with the murdered-out Midnight Edition and the um, not murdered-out, Custom. Let's start with the Custom, which adds 20-inch alloys, as well as chrome bumpers, mirror caps and door handles to the Silverado LS. Available in both V6 and V8 varieties, and with the customer's choice of two- or four-wheel drive, the Silverado Custom is the decidedly mellower example of Chevy's special edition styling. The Midnight Edition, meanwhile, throws subtlety out the window with a menacing set of visual upgrades. Based on the Z71, the Midnight adds 18-inch wheels, a spray-in bedliner and unique Z71 and Bowtie badges, all in black, of course. The front and rear bumpers, headlamp bezels, tow hooks, mirror caps and door handles, are also finished in the stealthy shade. Check out our live images of both special edition trucks, and let us know what you think down in Comments.
Reuss says GM diesel plans are still on pace
Fri, Oct 16 2015General Motors is not going to let Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal ruin its plans for a new line of efficient, torquey oil-burners, the company's Executive Vice President Mark Reuss said at a recent press event. "No way," Reuss responded when asked about cancelling the upcoming diesel-powered Chevrolet Cruze and other vehicles. "The Cruze Diesel is too good not to do it." Slated for 2017, the compact is just the latest member of a diesel offensive that initially kicked off with the first Cruze Diesel and most recently saw the introduction of the oil-burning Chevy Colorado and GMC Canyon. Reuss also reassured those in attendance that there was "no delay" in development of Cadillac's diesel lineup. Cadillac is working on a line of four- and six-cylinder turbodiesels for Europe. They'd make their way into the US market, too, eventually. "It's a question of timing," Reuss said, according to Car and Driver. Volkswagen's diesel emissions scandal has caused automakers across the globe to at least reanalyze their diesel strategy. Jaguar Land Rover, which is preparing several diesel-powered models for the US market, went on record late last month to reaffirm its commitment to diesel. New Toyota Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado/Canyon fight for midsize truck dominance
Sun, May 28 2023Sam Wedll has been driving his Toyota Tacoma pickup on the rugged roads of Northern California for seven trouble-free years, racking up almost 100,000 miles, so he’s interested in the redesigned version of the truck coming later this year. He paid $34,000 for his truck in 2016, loading it with plenty of options. HeÂ’s eyeing the new gas-electric hybrid Toyota Motor Corp. is going to offer, but Wedll, who does his own repairs, isnÂ’t interested in paying luxury prices. “The hybrid is pretty interesting to me because I like the idea of the fuel efficiency,” says Wedll, 47, a casino operations manager in Blue Lake, California. “IÂ’m just trying to save some costs wherever possible.” The Tacoma, known as the Taco to its legions of loyalists, is the leader of the pack in midsize pickups, one of the fastest-growing auto markets of the past decade. With outdoorsy weekend warriors and do-it-yourselfers looking for a truck that could fit in their garage, sales of midsize pickups more than doubled from 2010 to 2020. General Motors Co. and Ford Motor Co., which abandoned the market segment when sales slowed early this century, returned with new trucks to take on the Tacoma, which has dominated the medium truck market for almost two decades. Although it's easy to predict that the most lushly appointed versions of the new Taco could approach $50,000 (prices wonÂ’t be announced until later this year), Toyota insists it isnÂ’t backing away from budget buyers even as it rolls out fancier trucks. The current Tacoma starts at $28,030, and the company says affordability is critical to its success. In fact, Toyota will continue to offer the Taco with an old-school stick shift. The Tacoma controls 42% of the midsize truck market and outsells FordÂ’s offering 4 to 1. ThatÂ’s a role reversal from the full-size pickup market, where FordÂ’s F-Series has ruled the road for 46 years. Tacoma sales in the U.S. surpassed 237,000 last year, more than twice the number of GMÂ’s No. 2-ranked Chevrolet Colorado, according to consultant LMC Automotive. But as growth in the overall segment slows, the midsize market is developing into more of a turf war, with manufacturers vying for the sweetest highest-margin spots. “This segment is likely past its prime growth spurt,” says Jeff Schuster, president of the Americas for LMC Automotive.
