1969 Chevelle Ss 396 4 Speed Barn Car on 2040-cars
Ottumwa, Iowa, United States

This car came out of a shed on my 93 year old late great uncle's farm in southeast iowa. The shed had no door and a dirt floor. I hauled it to my shop and put tires on that hold air. I found NO TITLE for this car. <<---INTERNATIONAL BUYERS LOOK BEFORE YOU BID!!!! The vin plate is hard to read but still in place, not sure if the numbers I have copied down are all of them. The cowl tag is gone. This is just a parts car. It was a disc brake car, but parts removed and in the trunk, drum hubs installed to put on tires for transport. Also in the trunk is harmonic balancer and water pump, maybe original to the car. The rear end is a 12 bolt posi with 3:55 gears, check the pictures. It has the 4 speed dash cluster as well. Rubber floor covering instead of carpet. The motor and transmission are not in the car. Keep in touch and they may be found for purchase later. The frame has an area of rot on the drivers side near the front of the door. The floor pans and trunk floor are rotted bad. The quarters, and pretty much all the lower sheet metal is rotted. The upper half of the car seems pretty solid, doors and windows function, and all glass is good but the windshield. The hood looked solid, and is latched in the front, but not bolted to hinges, only one hinge in place. The car rolls and steers for loading. Vehicle is sold AS-IS where is. Buyer is responsible for all shipping concerns. Full payment is due within 3 days of auction end by cash in person or transfer. No returns or refunds. A $200.00 NON-REFUNDABLE deposit is due through paypal within 24 hours of auction end or the deal is off. The car needs picked up within 7 days or it gets resold. Thanks for looking. |

Weekly Recap: Tesla loses money, still dominates the news
Sat, Aug 8 2015Some people get an inordinate amount of attention. In politics, it's Donald Trump. In football, it's Jim Harbaugh. And in the auto world, it's Elon Musk and his always-fascinating electric car company, Tesla Motors. General Motors is spending $877 million to upgrade a factory. So what! US auto sales are up. Who cares? Tesla has a metal snake that will recharge your car! So was the week in Tesla – er, the industry. Snarkiness aside, Tesla did dominate the news cycle, led by the announcement the company lost $184 million in the second quarter. Tesla also said it expects to deliver between 50,000 and 55,000 vehicles this year, and is preparing for a full launch of the Model X crossover in September. Musk also made news during the earnings call by simply not answering a question about ride sharing, leading to speculation Tesla could be considering its own operation. While the financials were the arguably the most important company news, reports of a Model S cyber hacking were more compelling fodder for Tesla followers. Researchers were able to attack the sedan and bring it to a stop, though they required access to the car first. Tesla says it already has deployed a remedy for the situation. On a lighter note, Tesla published a video of its metal charger prototype that autonomously uncoils like a snake to power up the company's vehicles, provoking plenty of humorous comments and comparisons. Watch it and decide for yourself. While some of this might seem trivial, much of Tesla's recent attention has been warranted. It's the first startup US automaker in decades to launch from nothing and actually gain traction in the market. Sure, Musk is a lightning rod and Tesla always seems to be in the spotlight. But amid all of the publicity, it easy to lose sight of the new reality: Tesla is a force. OTHER NEWS & NOTES 2016 Chevy Volt lights up 106 MPGe The Chevy Volt's vitals are looking healthier for 2016. The second-generation plug-in hybrid racks up a gaudy 106 miles per gallon equivalent, which is an increase of eight MPGe from the 2015 model. The new Volt can travel 53 miles on electricity, a significant jump from the 2015 Volt's 38-mile range. The new car also has a 420-mile total range when factoring in the capability of the gasoline engine, which is 40 miles greater than the current car offers.
Personal testimonies show real-world effect of plugging in with Chevy Volt
Mon, Jan 13 2014At this point, there are tens of thousands of individual stories about what it's like to live with a Chevrolet Volt. But it also remains informative to take a look at one of these in depth. For example, one Atlanta-area Volt owner says he's cut his cents-per-mile ownership costs by almost 40 percent compared to his previous car primarily because of his ability to drive almost all the time on electric power. Jeffrey Cohen told Clean Technica that he put about 14,000 miles on his Volt extended-range plug-in hybrid for the year that ended October 2013, and that more than 92 percent of those were on electrons. He estimates his "lifetime" miles per gallon rating at a whopping 384 mpg, a figure pushed upward by the fact that he installed a Level 2 charger at home while his employer added an external 110-volt charger at work. Cohen is spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents in his Infiniti M35. As a result, he's spending 45 cents a mile for his car, compared to 73 cents a mile with his prior vehicle, an Infiniti M35. About two-thirds of those Volt costs are for the $349-a-month lease payments, while 15 percent is insurance, 11 percent is for the charger and seven percent for the gas and electricity that actually powers the car. Helping lower that last figure is an overnight electricity rate that's about 10 percent of Cohen's daytime rate. Chevy parent General Motors hopes such testimonies will re-trigger sales for the Volt in 2014. Last year, GM sold 23,094 Volts, down 1.6 percent from 2012. We expect our readers have similar stories they'd like to share in the Comments. So, how do you actually pronounce that automaker's name?
Thu, Jan 21 2016You probably have that friend who always says Porsche wrong, or maybe it's someone who keeps reminding you it's actually two syllables. Whichever side of the pronunciation debate you fall on, you'll find someone to root for in the video above. And before you ask, this was all the video team's idea. So don't get mad at me for being the voice of reason. BMW Chevrolet Hyundai Nissan Rolls-Royce Videos Original Video nissan qashqai
