1966 CHEVELLE CONVERTIBLE. THE CAR IS SUPER NICE, IT WAS RESTORED IN THE 2000s ITS THE ORIGINAL COLOR WHICH IS REGAL RED WITH SAME COLOR INT. THE PAINT AND BODY ARE BASE/CLEAR AND WAS LAID DOWN VERY NICLEY. THE CAR WAS RUST FREE TO START WITH WHICH MADE THE PROCESS THAT MUCH EASIER . THE CHROME AND TRIM WERE REPLACED AT THAT TIME AND STILL LOOKS GREAT. THE INT IS VERY NICE HOW EVER THEY PUT IN A AFTERMARKET SHIFTER THAT IS INCORRECT TO THE CAR, IT WORKS FINE. THE NICE THING IS THEY DIDNT CUT UP THE CONSOLE SO IT SHOULD BE VERY EASY TO PUT AN ORIGINAL SHIFTER BACK IN IT. IT HAS VINTAGE STEWART WARNER GUAGES, AND THEY ALL WORK GREAT. ALL THE LIGHTS,TURN SIGNALS,WIPERS,RADIO ALL WORK AS THEY SHOULD. MECHANICALLY IT RUNS SUPER STRONG. THIS IS MY 1ST EXPERENCE WITH THE ZZ4 ENGINE. I WILL BUY ANOTHER ONE FOR MY CAMARO PROJECT I HAVE GOING ON. IT STARTS EASY, RUNS COOL. IT WILL DO A NASTY BURN OUT, ROLLING 30MPH. SQUEEZE THE GAS AND YOU WILL SMELL RUBBER.. THE SUSPENSION IS G-RIDE WHICH CONSIST OF TRAILING ARMS, SPRINGS FRONT AND REAR,SHOCKS, LARGE SWAY BARS. THERE IS NO BODY ROLL ON THIS THING. IT IS ALSO EQUIPT WITH DISK BRAKES,AND A FLAMING RIVER QUICK RATIO STEERING BOX,WHICH IS ALSO POWER. ITS A VERY WELL SORTED OUT CAR. IT HAS A POWER TOP THAT WORKS FINE. THE UNDERNEATH OF THE CAR IS NOT SOME UNDER COATED MESS. ITS PAINTED RED JUST LIKE UP TOP BUT ITS NOT DETAILED ANYMORE. THE CAR GET DRIVEN REGULARY.THE CAR WAS DRIVEN ON THE HOT ROD POWER TOUR BY THE PREVIOUS OWNER, AND I TAKE IT TO CRUISE INS ALL THE TIME. OVERALL ITS A CAR YOU CAN TAKE TO THE CAR SHOW AND DUST THAT MUSTANG ON YOUR WAY HOME. THE CAR WAS PURCHASED FROM A INS COMPANY BEFORE IT WAS RESTORED IT WAS A THEFT RECOVERY THATS WHY IT SAYS "PRIOR SALVAGE" ON THE TITLE. JUST WANTED TO CLEAR THAT UP BEFORE I GET A MILLION QUESTIONS ON THAT. AND REMEMBER THERE IS NO RESERVE..

Callaway rolls out radical Corvette C7 GT3-R at Hockenheim
Wed, Oct 7 2015Leave it to Callaway to take a badass Corvette and make it even more so. Case in point: the new Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R you see here. It made its big debut this past weekend during the season finale for the ADAC GT Masters series at the legendary Hockenheimring – the on-again, off-again home of the German Grand Prix. Why in Germany, you ask? Because that's where Callaway Competition is based. The racing division got its start in Heilbronn as Woeher & Ciccone back in 1985. It joined with US-based Callaway Cars in 1988 to distribute its modified Corvettes in Europe, and branched out into constructing racing cars in 1994. And this is its latest project. Designed in partnership between Callaway Competition in Germany and Canadian designer Paul Deutschman, the new GT3-R replaces the previous C6-based Z06.R GT3. It packs a 6.2-liter V8 pumping 600 horsepower through an X-Trac six-speed sequential gearbox. And as you can see, it sure looks the part. Callaway will be offering the new GT3-R to privateer teams for entry in a variety of racing series around the world. But it'll also be fielding the example you see here, sponsored by Whelen Engineering that – like Callaway Cars – is based in Connecticut. Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R World Debut at Hockenheim October 3, 2015 Hockenheim, Germany – October 3, 2015 – This weekend's ADAC GT Masters Season Finale was the backdrop for the unveiling of Callaway Competition's new Callaway Corvette C7 GT3-R. Following a brief presentation to media and invited guests, the successor of the C6-based Callaway Z06.R GT3 was displayed to the public for the first time on October 3, 2015 at the Hockenheimring in Germany. Constructors of GT race cars since 1990 and based in Leingarten Germany, Callaway Competition possesses a wealth of experience, technical know-how and a broad network of specialized professional partners. These elements were crucial to conduct such a large undertaking. After nearly two years of comprehensive planning, intensive development and expert fabrication of vehicle components, Callaway Competition completed the first C7 GT3-R just a few weeks ago. Its striking design comes as a result of the collaboration between Canadian designer Paul Deutschman and team owners Giovanni Ciccone and Ernst Wohr. Mike Gramke, Uwe Hoffmann, Florian Mohring and Andre Zanke were also heavily involved in the vehicle's development.
GM's Oshawa plant may close after Camaro production moves
Sat, Feb 7 2015Most of the time, when vehicle production is moved from one assembly plant to another, it spells bad news for the former. While General Motors won't go so far as to say its Oshawa, Ontario factory, which is losing the Chevrolet Camaro to the Lansing Grand River plant, is in trouble, analysts seem to think the factory's days are numbered. Forecasts for the facility are far from positive. The loss of the Camaro this year, combined with GM's targeted shutdown of a single-shift assembly line responsible for the fleet-only Chevy Impala Limited and the Equinox crossover is a bad enough omen. But with AutoForecast Solutions CEO Joe McCabe telling The Detroit News that the plant's other two products, the Cadillac XTS and Buick Regal, aren't likely to stick around beyond 2017, things look decidedly grim at Oshawa. "There is a fairly strong chance that the plant could close," Jeff Schuster, senior VP of forecasting for LMC Automotive, told The Detroit News. That doesn't mean that Unifor, Canada's auto union, and the Canadian government are going to let the factory die without a fight. And with the latter chipping in $10 billion as part of GM's 2009 bailout, you might think it has a degree of leverage in the situation. A meeting between the government and the Detroit Three at the 2015 North American International Auto Show revealed that Oshawa is already a topic of conversation. "We made it very clear that we would like to see an indication on the future of Oshawa sooner, in particular because the timing is very challenging for our supply chain to be able to adjust to potentially future orders or changes, but also to know that there are going to be future opportunities at Oshawa," Ontario's Minister of Economic, Development, Employment and Infrastructure Brad Duguid told The Detroit News. "Bottom line: It's time they made a longer-term commitment here," Unifor President Jerry Dias said, echoing Duguid's statements. It's unclear if this sort of strong talk will be enough to save 3,300-plus employees, although based on the analysts' forecasts, we doubt it.
Plug In 2014: VIA makes the case for 'free' plug-in hybrid work vans, trucks
Fri, Aug 1 2014If you're a fleet manager who's been waiting anxiously for the chance to buy a plug-in hybrid van from Via Motors, your wait is almost over. If you work for the right fleet, anyway. David West, the chief marketing efficer for VIA Motors, took AutoblogGreen for a ride around the San Jose Convention Center in a Via van sporting an Electric Blue paint job as part of the Plug In 2014 Conference this week and gave us an update on how things are coming along. The big news is that the Via PHEV van production is going to start by the end of September. Via can currently build two vans an hour at its production plant in Mexico, or about 16 a day and could easily double that. "That would get us to 20,000 a year with two full lines running," West said. "We have the capacity." "There is no way gas can compete with electric." – David West, Via Motors But they can't sell that many quite yet. By the end of December, around 350 Vans will be made, mostly for a $20-million program from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the South Coast Air Quality Management District that will see the vehicles used by fleets that will report energy data to the Idaho National Lab. Via is also finishing up CARB certification for both the van and the company's plug-in hybrid pick-up truck. About 50 percent of Via's technology in the truck will not need to be tested again, since it's the same as what's in the van, but things like crash tests will need to be done twice. Despite the progress, this is not where Via hoped it would be today. The bankruptcy of battery supplier A123, "took about a year off our timeline," West said. "It's been getting a little slow getting it to market, there have been some challenges, particuarly since we had the country's worst recession right in the middle of this wrap up, but it's inevitable in my mind. There is no way gas can compete with electric." Maybe that's why FedEx has expressed an interest in buying around 5,000 units, West said. FedEx already has some pilot vehicles, just like Verizon does, and PG&E wants to replace all of their gas trucks with electric vehicles, which would be another 3,000 sales, he said. Besides the fuel savings, vehicles like these, with easy on-site power generation, could also work wonders in post-disaster situations, he said, since they could replace the need for generators.
