I have up for sale a 1997 Chevy cavalier with several modifications. To start it has an 01 front end swap, that includes 01 front fenders, hood, headlights and front bumper. The motor has 94xxx miles on it, the body of the car has around 130,000 miles on it. The motor was swapped with a 01 2.2 liter. I have had this car for several years and have put a lot of time and money into the car. I have about 13000 dollars with the price of the car and all the mods. The car has a drift front bumper and rear bumper. The sides skirts they sent were suppose to be the drift side skirts but they were not. I am not sure which sides skirts they are. The body kit is all molded in. The car sits on 17" Kiowa racing rims with Nankang 205/40r17 tires. The front has slotted brake rotors. The back braking system I swapped to disk brakes from drum. It has a conversion from a srt4 for the back braking system. So instead of drum brakes on the rear there is disk. The rear rotors are also slotted. The rear axle was powder coated black with new bushings installed. The car has KYB AGX adjustable shocks and struts. The springs for the suspension are stock springs but brand new. Have a Spyder 3 carbon fiber hood on the car. Rear taillights were shaved. Installed custom 6" oval led tail lights. Also moved the reverse lights down to the bumper and they are also 6" oval led lights. Installed 30000K Super blue bi-xenon hids. Car has a t3/t4 .60 trim turbo with internal waste gate. Has a custom 2.5" down pipe with 2.5" exhaust and high flow cat. Custom bent inter-cooler pipping with a 23"x5.5"x2.5" inter-cooler. Installed Ford #35 brown top injectors. Has msd coil packs, with obx 10.3mm spark plug wires. Has top and bottom obx racing black radiator hoses. There is all the lines ran for nitrous and have the tank and bracket mounted. The electrical lines for the nitrous hook up is not hooked up but all there. Short throw shifter. Interior has two black and orange racing seats, with black four point racing harnesses and a black harness bar. Black Grant GT steering wheel. Black three gauge pod with Prosport gauges that glow blue. The gauges are a wide band air/fuel, Exhaust temperature, and boost gauge. Then the two middle air vents were deleted and three gauges were installed there. They are Prosport Oil pressure, Oil temperature, and fuel pressure gauges. They match the other three. The only one that isnt hooked up is the fuel pressure gauge. There is new black carpet installed in the car. For a stereo it has two Sony Xplod 1000 watt amps, with two Sony Xplod P5 series 12" subwoofers. In the rear deck I installed two sony 6"x9" speakers. Also have two Sony 6"x9" speakers for the front doors. They are not installed yet. Head unit I have Jenson 7" touch screen cd player. It has a hook up for an ipod that runs into the glove box. The car has lambo doors. The car is painted a gun metal metallic. Just had an emission sticker put on it today, next week ill have it inspected. For more pictures you can contact me. I have several other pictures. Also if any questions contact me im sure there is something I have forgotten about. Please contact me before bidding.

A car writer's year in new vehicles [w/video]
Thu, Dec 18 2014Christmas is only a week away. The New Year is just around the corner. As 2014 draws to a close, I'm not the only one taking stock of the year that's we're almost shut of. Depending on who you are or what you do, the end of the year can bring to mind tax bills, school semesters or scheduling dental appointments. For me, for the last eight or nine years, at least a small part of this transitory time is occupied with recalling the cars I've driven over the preceding 12 months. Since I started writing about and reviewing cars in 2006, I've done an uneven job of tracking every vehicle I've been in, each year. Last year I made a resolution to be better about it, and the result is a spreadsheet with model names, dates, notes and some basic facts and figures. Armed with this basic data and a yen for year-end stories, I figured it would be interesting to parse the figures and quantify my year in cars in a way I'd never done before. The results are, well, they're a little bizarre, honestly. And I think they'll affect how I approach this gig in 2015. {C} My tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015 it'll be as high as 73. Let me give you a tiny bit of background about how automotive journalists typically get cars to test. There are basically two pools of vehicles I drive on a regular basis: media fleet vehicles and those available on "first drive" programs. The latter group is pretty self-explanatory. Journalists are gathered in one location (sometimes local, sometimes far-flung) with a new model(s), there's usually a day of driving, then we report back to you with our impressions. Media fleet vehicles are different. These are distributed to publications and individual journalists far and wide, and the test period goes from a few days to a week or more. Whereas first drives almost always result in a piece of review content, fleet loans only sometimes do. Other times they serve to give context about brands, segments, technology and the like, to editors and writers. So, adding up the loans I've had out of the press fleet and things I've driven at events, my tally for the year is 68 cars, as of this writing. Before the calendar flips to 2015, it'll be as high as 73. At one of the buff books like Car and Driver or Motor Trend, reviewers might rotate through five cars a week, or more. I know that number sounds high, but as best I can tell, it's pretty average for the full-time professionals in this business.
GM 6.2L V8 claims most powerful light-duty truck engine title
Thu, 12 Sep 2013General Motors has officially captured the horsepower crown for mainstream pickup trucks with its 6.2-liter V8. The big mill, available in both the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, comes to market with 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque, handily outdoing its two cross-town competitors, Ram (5.7-liter V8, 395 ponies and 407 lb-ft) and Ford (6.2-liter V8, 411 hp and 434 lb-ft).
The new GM 6.2 will take a bit of an investment, though. Those that want the extra thrust will need to go with either the LTZ or High Country trims from the Chevy, or the SLT and Denali trims from GMC, which are the two highest trim levels for the respective vehicles. Trim levels aside, if you're in the business of towing, GM has you covered. Optioned with the 6.2-liter V8 and the Max Trailering Package, owners will be able to pull 12,000 pounds, a hugely impressive figure.
We still aren't certain as to what sort of economy the new engine will get, but it'll probably be a bad bet for the fuel conscious. As for availability, expect to see the 6.2-liter trucks in showrooms later in the fall.
Dodge vs. Chevy tug-of-war taken to the extreme
Mon, 17 Dec 2012They say "idle hands are the devil's playground," but said playgrounds grow to Disney-sized proportions when a pair of jacked-up trucks, two egos, a chain and an empty mall parking lot are involved. Proof of this is the video below, which shows a Cummins-powered Dodge Ram circa 2006 to 2008 chained tail-to-tail with what looks to be a gasoline-powered Chevrolet Silverado from the late 1990s or early 2000s.
We don't necessarily have to tell you who wins this battle, but we'll let you see for yourself the lengths the "winning" driver goes to prove his point. There's plenty of foul language in the video below, so beware that this might be Not Safe For Work, and not that we should have to tell you, but please, do not try this at home.
