1995 Chevrolet Caprice Classic Wagon 4-door 5.7l Lt1 on 2040-cars

This is a nice 1995 Chevy Caprice wagon with the 350 LT1 engine. Car runs and drives great and is driven every day. This wagon has around 164,000 miles on it (mileage will change slightly because it is driven). The engine has very good power and gets good gas mileage. We have installed a K&N cold air intake on it and it has a new optispark distrubertor and water pump which was installed within this past year. Brand new battery installed last week. New front rotors and brakes this year. The tires are in good shape. Those are just hubcaps on the car. The drivers side exhaust has a small leak somewhere in the rear section that just started. We installed a new transmission with better then stock parts in it a few years ago and it shifts great. There are no known mechanical issues other then the small exhaust leak. We drive this wagon everywhere and would drive it cross country if we needed to. There is a factory tow hitch on the car also. The car rides great. We were told that the A.C. has a leak in one of the lines near the battery ( looks like battery acid some how got on it and ate it away in one spot so its not working right now. It worked great up until this past summer. The cloth interior is in great shape and shows very little wear. It has 3 rows of seating. It has a pioneer cd player with remote and fairly new speakers through out. Both front seats are full power. I have replaced all window rollers in all 4 doors. Has power windows and locks that all work. Headliner is in perfect shape and all interior lights work. All the digital gauges work. ( pic of digital gauges was taken when the car had less miles. Car does have 164,000 miles on it now). The rear window hatch does need some new gas struts. The rear windows were tinted many years ago and has scratches and some light tears but still looks good. Needs a new wiper pump grommet installed on the rear window pump. Its just started leaking a few months ago. The body is in good shape. There are a couple small ripples on the drivers side fender and a couple small paint chips in other places. There is one small ding on drivers side quarter panel and the small section of molding is missing. The molding on the rear of car above bumper is also missing. We were gonna shave everything and remove molding so we never replaced those pieces. The spare tire well looks like there is a little bit of bondo thats cracking. I see no other rust or issues with the body. The paint shows its age but does shine up good. The car needs a good detail and buffing. There are some light swirl marks on hood from one done afew years ago. It has the painted grill on it. I have tried my best to describe this cars condition and pointed out the few issues with the car. The inspection sticker does run out next month but if you live in Virginia then we will get the car inspected for you. If you have any questions or need more pictures please let me know and ill get back to you ASAP.

2016 Chevy Volt sneak peek at CES
Mon, Jan 5 2015Here it is, folks – your first real glimpse at the 2016 Chevrolet Volt. The gasoline-electric sedan will officially debut at the Detroit Auto Show next week, but Chevy gave us a sneak peek of its redesigned Volt at a media event in Las Vegas late Sunday, as part of its CES festivities. There isn't a ton to see here, and sorry about the low quality video (and for us not standing front and center during the reveal). But we can clearly see the car's redesigned front fascia – something recently previewed at a fan event in Los Angeles. For another view, check out a high-res photo of the new Volt from our friends at The Verge, here. Chevy even tweeted a photo of the Volt's new nose on its official Volt Twitter account, which you can see below. The automaker didn't divulge any details about its new Volt, but we already know quite a bit. For starters, the Volt will use a new, 1.5-liter gasoline engine and won't require premium fuel. It'll have more EV range and a bigger battery, too. We'll have a whole mess of information when the 2016 Volt is fully revealed in Detroit in about one week's time. In the meantime, here are some more looks at the Volt, courtesy of the Twitterverse. We're so excited about #NextGenVolt we brought it out early at #CES2015! 7 major automakers to build open EV charging network
Wed, Jul 26 2023A new joint venture established by BMW, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Stellantis will build a new North American electric vehicle charging network on a scale designed to compete with Tesla's industry-benchmark Supercharger network. The 30,000-plus planned new chargers will accommodate both Tesla's almost-standard North American Charging System (NACS) and existing automakers' Combined Charging System (CCS) options, effectively guaranteeing compatibility with the vast majority of current and upcoming electric models — whether they're from one of the involved automakers or not. "With the generational investments in public charging being implemented on the Federal and State level, the joint venture will leverage public and private funds to accelerate the installation of high-powered charging for customers. The new charging stations will be accessible to all battery-powered electric vehicles from any automaker using Combined Charging System (CCS) or North American Charging Standard (NACS) and are expected to meet or exceed the spirit and requirements of the U.S. National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program." Critically, the automakers involved will have a say in how the charging tech is implemented, guaranteeing that the hardware will play nicely with each automaker's in-house charging systems. Hyundai and Kia, for example, were hesitant to jump on board the Tesla NACS bandwagon earlier this year over concerns that the Supercharger network is insufficient for powering the two automakers' 800-volt charging systems; similar tech is used by Volkswagen and Porsche. In addition to providing much-needed capacity and high-output charging for America's growing fleet of electric cars and trucks, the new network will integrate seamlessly with each automaker's in-app and in-vehicle features, rather than forcing customers to use third-party tools and payment systems, as is the case with some existing public charging infrastructure. "The functions and services of the network will allow for seamless integration with participating automakersÂ’ in-vehicle and in-app experiences, including reservations, intelligent route planning and navigation, payment applications, transparent energy management and more. In addition, the network will leverage Plug & Charge technology to further enhance the customer experience," the announcement said.
Plug In 2014: VIA makes the case for 'free' plug-in hybrid work vans, trucks
Fri, Aug 1 2014If you're a fleet manager who's been waiting anxiously for the chance to buy a plug-in hybrid van from Via Motors, your wait is almost over. If you work for the right fleet, anyway. David West, the chief marketing efficer for VIA Motors, took AutoblogGreen for a ride around the San Jose Convention Center in a Via van sporting an Electric Blue paint job as part of the Plug In 2014 Conference this week and gave us an update on how things are coming along. The big news is that the Via PHEV van production is going to start by the end of September. Via can currently build two vans an hour at its production plant in Mexico, or about 16 a day and could easily double that. "That would get us to 20,000 a year with two full lines running," West said. "We have the capacity." "There is no way gas can compete with electric." – David West, Via Motors But they can't sell that many quite yet. By the end of December, around 350 Vans will be made, mostly for a $20-million program from the Department of Energy (DOE) and the South Coast Air Quality Management District that will see the vehicles used by fleets that will report energy data to the Idaho National Lab. Via is also finishing up CARB certification for both the van and the company's plug-in hybrid pick-up truck. About 50 percent of Via's technology in the truck will not need to be tested again, since it's the same as what's in the van, but things like crash tests will need to be done twice. Despite the progress, this is not where Via hoped it would be today. The bankruptcy of battery supplier A123, "took about a year off our timeline," West said. "It's been getting a little slow getting it to market, there have been some challenges, particuarly since we had the country's worst recession right in the middle of this wrap up, but it's inevitable in my mind. There is no way gas can compete with electric." Maybe that's why FedEx has expressed an interest in buying around 5,000 units, West said. FedEx already has some pilot vehicles, just like Verizon does, and PG&E wants to replace all of their gas trucks with electric vehicles, which would be another 3,000 sales, he said. Besides the fuel savings, vehicles like these, with easy on-site power generation, could also work wonders in post-disaster situations, he said, since they could replace the need for generators.
