Up for bid at no reserve is my 1992 Chevrolet Caprice with 154k two-owner . Car- body  The all original gray leather interior is in very nice shape.  The legendary  Caprice  LT1 5.7L V8 engine with electronic overdrive transmission provides plenty of smooth power for city or highway driving as the cold AC keeps you and up to 7 of your family or friends comfortable.

which is why it is equipped the way it is. The only options are cruise control (K34), extra capacity cooling (V03) and AM/FM/tape stereo (UM6). However, standard equipment included LT1 V8 engine, automatic overdrive transmission, air conditioning (1st year for R134), dual stainless steel exhaust.  I purchased the car  in 2005 with 130k miles.  It has always been a second vehicle for me, and stays garaged when not in use.  I drove it approx. 5000-6000 miles a year, much of which was on 1 or 2 summer road trips .  It’s a great highway car, getting 22-24 mpg consistently on the highway.

This car has been used, but not abused!  While well maintained, it is still a 21 year old vehicle with  over 100k miles. Therefore, there are plenty of minor imperfections consistent with age and miles, but nothing that detracts from the overall impression of a handsome, well preserved car with plenty of use left in it. I will do my best to describe the condition as accurately as possible:

ENGINE: Runs on all eight cylinders without smoking, missing or knocking. Does not run hot.  Battery & charging system is good. Starts easy and runs strong.  This car has been well maintained with regular oil changes, as well as periodic changing of fluids including transmission, brake, rear end, front wheel bearings, and coolant. Power steering is leak.

TRANSMISSION: Engages gears quickly and shifts through all forward gears and reverse with good downshift and torque converter performance. Clean fluid with no burn odors.

EXTERIOR: Body: Body is very straight and totally solid. Small  rust anywhere on lower body. There are a handful of very small roof and body dings, very difficult to see in pictures. Has various very small scratches and nicks as expected for a 21 year old used car. All very small and not easily seen in pictures, not noticeable from more than 10 feet away.  Paint is above average.
Glass is all good. High quality window tint applied in 2006, still in excellent condition.

INTERIOR: Interior of the car is in very nice shape.  Garage kept for at least the last 8 years and it shows. The interior is not faded nor is the dash cracked. Seats driver's seat has noticeable wear. Passenger front seat has approx. Rear leather seat have no visible wear or tear.As stated, this car has been used but not abused!  No smoke odors - non-smoker's car. Very nice interior overall; above average. Horn not working.

Hot heat and cold A/C, tilt, cruise, am/fm cassette(yes!) stereo, rear window release, rear wiper, intermittent wipers. Equipped with power windows (passenger back side not working), locks, seats (driver side dont move), mirrors or rear defrost. All crank windows and manual locks work well.

DRIVEABILITY: Drives out beautifully. Steering is tight, suspension is tight and alignment is good. Brakes work well with good linings.  Stops straight and smooth.  Tires is good.

These Caprice are fantastic cars that, being traditional station wagons, bucked the industry trends when new and only sold in small numbers for 3 years with the LT1. Being such capable and good driving cars, they usually acquired lots of miles and hard use. As a result, they are fairly rare today in good condition.

This is a no reserve auction- the highest bidder will get the car. Hopefully the winner will enjoy this car as much as I have!  Please do not participate if you are not serious about buying this car. HAPPY BID....GOOD LUCK>>>

8 cars we're most looking forward to driving in 2015

Mon, Jan 5 2015

Now that 2014 is officially in the books, it's time to look ahead. And following our list of the cars we liked best last year, we're now setting our sights at the hot new metal that's coming our way in 2015. Some of these, we've already seen. And some are still set to debut during the 2015 auto show season. But these are the machines that keep us going – the things on the horizon that we're particularly stoked to drive, and drive hard. Jeep Renegade Not the Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Not the Ford Mustang GT350. Not the new John Cooper Works Mini. Nope, I'm looking forward to the adorable, trail-rated Jeep Renegade. And that's because I really, really, really like our long-term Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. I do not, however, care too much for the Cherokee's looks, and I really don't like its $38,059 price tag. The Renegade Trailhawk, meanwhile, promises much of the same rough-and-tumble character as its big brother, but at what we expect will be a more reasonable price (I'm personally wagering on the baby Jeep's off-road model starting at no more than $23,000). With a 2.4-liter four-cylinder and a nine-speed automatic, it should also be a bit easier to fill than the V6-powered Cherokee. Also, I can't help but love the way the Renegade looks. It's like someone took a Wrangler, squished it by 50 percent and then handed it off to George Clinton for a healthy dose of funk. The interior, with its bright, expressive trims and color schemes should also be a really nice place to spend some time. I'll be attending the Renegade's launch later this month, so I'll have a much shorter wait than my colleagues. Here's hoping the baby Jeep lives up to my expectations. – Brandon Turkus Associate Editor Mazda MX-5 Miata Here's an uncomfortable truth: I'd rather spend a day driving a properly sorted Mazda MX-5 Miata of any generation on a winding road than I would nearly any other vehicle, regardless of power, price or prestige. It's not just that I prize top-down driving and enjoy the Miata's small size because it gives me more road to play with. I just find there's more motoring joy to be had with high-fidelity handling and an uncorrupted car-to-driver communication loop than I do with face-distorting power or grip – let alone valet-stand gravitas. But perhaps most of all, I love Miatas because they can deliver that level of feedback and driver reward at modest speeds that won't put the locals on edge or endanger lives – you can use more of the car more of the time.

GM recalling 135,000 SUVs with plastic jacks that can break

Sat, Jun 19 2021

General Motors is recalling 135,400 compact crossovers because their emergency jack can break under load. The problem occurs when the jack — which is plastic — isn't positioned correctly as detailed in the owner's manual. This can cause the jack to fracture. If the jack breaks and the vehicle collapses, there's a risk of injury or death, according to an NHTSA recall alert. The recall involves the 2020-22 Buick Encore GX and 2021-22 Chevrolet Trailblazer. A GM test driver discovered the problem when he broke a jack during a durability test on a Trailblazer. GM started investigating in April and found 21 claims of jack failures, including one reported injury. "This jack design may not be sufficiently robust against fractures if improperly or incorrectly positioned on the vehicle frame by the user," a NHTSA safety report said. GM will start notifying vehicle owners July 26. It will provide free replacement jacks that are made of metal.   Featured Gallery 2021 Buick Encore GX View 21 Photos Recalls Buick Chevrolet GM
