1967 Chevy Caprice 2 Door Coupe 327 V8 - 275 Hp on 2040-cars

I have owned this car for over ten years, it was bought locally in January 2004. The car was garage kept when I bought it and I have always kept it inside. I'm not sure if it was garage kept since new. The person I bought it from was not the original owner. This car is basically in the same shape it was when I bought it. I'm sure it was taken care of quite well, I was glad I was able to find it and get it. I bought it locally so I was able to look at it before buying it. I know that's easier than buying it over the internet, so I will do my best to describe it to you. I don't want to make the car sound any better or worse than it is. My nephew is doing me a favor listing this car on his Ebay account. He is not a car guy. I don't have an Ebay account or own a computer, but I do have a cell phone. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me. My name is Charlie and my number is:215-416-4702. The body of the car is straight. There are no major dents or rust. The paint is mostly original, except where some areas were painted over the years. Rust is starting on the lower quarter panels and front fender. Lowers, wheel wells, lower inner quarter panels, floors, and trunk floor are solid and nice. The rust has not been bonded over, just amateur touch up. The frame is good and all the trim is there. It's all mostly in good shape. The glass and vinyl top are good. The rear quarter skirts came with the car when I got it, they are not from this car. The interior is original and in great shape. There is fraying on the driver side front seat bottom. I changed out the AM radio with an old school two knob stereo which fit right in, The dash is not hacked up. It is a 327 4bl. 275 HP and runs great. (Smokes a little when it starts after sitting, which is probably valve seals.) 400 Turbo Trans-------SHIFTS GREAT! Limited Slip Rear-------No Problems The suspension and brakes were all checked out and gone over a few years ago. The AC blows cold, I never touched it in over ten years. A few minor things wrong with the car are: a cable that changes hot to cold from heater control is not working (Maybe Stretched) That is why glove box liner is out. I change it manually in summer and winter. A few bulbs are out for the dash lights. Also included with the sale are: *Rear Quarter Skirts & Moldings For Skirts *4 Caps For Factory Rally Wheels *4 Original Caprice Wheel Covers *1967 Chevrolet Owner's Manual *3 Of The 4 Original Interior Floor Mats *Glove Box Liner All are in picture of the trunk.
This is a nice, complete, and solid driver. It is not a show car but not bad either. I found it to be a nice find. Having the 327 4 bl. 275 HP, 400 Turbo Automatic, Limited Slip Rear and A/C. Yes there are a lot more options it could have, but most of these old Chevy's were 283 V8s with power glide transmissions. Leave it alone and enjoy it, or it is a complete car to restore to perfect. I had pictures under the car that were deleted accidently, if you are interested I can get them again.Thank you for looking and good luck! CAR IS SOLD AS IS! |

Is this '47 Chevrolet a rat rod or a sports car?
Sun, May 22 2016These days there are plenty of vehicles that blur the conventional automotive class structures. For instance, was the Honda Crosstour a wagon or an SUV? And what exactly was the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet? Regardless, those line-blurring cars (or trucks) are out there, and though this one didn't roll off a production line, it's still quite the automotive head-scratcher. Hailing from Missouri, this epic creation is one part mad science experiment, one part 1947 Chevrolet pickup, and one part '95 Mercury Cougar. Add it all up and you get an awesome truck-sports-car hybrid, complete with an outrageous wing and a V8 to boot. And interestingly enough, it's up for sale . RELATED: Check out this Wild-Styled Lamborghini Rat Rod So how does it all come together? According to the listing, the Chevrolet truck cab (which had previously been chopped) was sanded down to bare metal and given a thorough shellacking of clear coat. It was then melded together with the front end of a 1995 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck, and set low to the ground on Bilstein suspension drop spindles. Stance achieved. But instead of fielding an engine from either of those pickups, it pulls its heart from a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe SUV—a big 5.3-liter V8 heart, that is. It comes backed-up to a GM Turbo 400 automatic transmission. Towards the rear however is where things get really interesting. A Copper Pearl coated tube frame chassis both attaches the rear independent suspension (a la Mercury Cougar) to the racy spoiler, as well as secures the rat rod's rear-mounted radiator, fan, and fuel tank. I'm not quite sure why, but it just looks glorious. RELATED: Reports Say Mid-Engine Corvette Will Arrive in 2018 Inside the vintage cab, the Chevrolet furthers its racing proclivities (it's said to have won burnout and auto-cross events) with a pair of harnessed racing seats, a drift brake, a detachable steering wheel, and a tachometer with oil and temperature gauges, but oddly no speedometer. The shifter is a crescent wrench. And its shift boot? That's a Crown Royal Purple bag. All in all, this grin-worthy Frankenstein creation tallies up bits and pieces from four different vehicles (five if you include the Camaro wheels), which make it truly a mash-up of epic proportions. Internet, what do you think? Related Video: This article by Zach Doell originally appeared on Boldride. CES 2022 was huge for EVs | Autoblog Podcast #711
Fri, Jan 7 2022In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder. CES took place this week, and there were some nice electric surprises from automakers, especially General Motors. John has been driving the Ram 1500 Power Wagon, as well as what seems to be its polar opposite, the electric Mini Cooper SE. Greg talks about the differences between the Acura TLX A-Spec long-termer (which is back in the shop) and the Type S loaner that's filling in for it. John's also got some interesting thoughts on leather interiors. Finally, the editors reach into the mailbag and help a repeat customer decide on a suitable replacement for a 2008 Lexus GX 470 in this week's Spend My Money segment. GM's Ultium EV platform finally shows up in Q3 sales numbers
Wed, Oct 4 2023General Motors has heralded its Ultium battery-electric platform as the future of its passenger car and truck lineup, but for the first two years of its existence, its impact on the marketplace has been virtually nonexistent. Well, that finally changed in the third quarter of 2023, and while the cars based on this architecture don't represent anywhere near the volume of GM's broader combustion portfolio, we're reaching a point where Ultium products are finally in view (and in the hands) of real-world shoppers. At this point, five U.S.-market Ultium models are in production: the GMC Hummer EV, Cadillac Lyriq, Chevrolet Blazer & Silverado EV, and BrightDrop Zevo 600. If you're not familiar with that last one, that's OK; it's a commercial product that you likely won't see on the road for some time. Together, these four combined for 4,257 sales in the third quarter alone — up from 2,663 for the entire first half of the year. While that may not seem like a significant uptick when viewed from altitude, the quarter-to-quarter numbers paint a clearer picture. Let's toss out the stragglers first. The Chevy Blazer EV, and Silverado EV for example, are barely in production. GM delivered 19 Blazers and 18 Silverados in the third quarter and that's the entirety of their production runs so far. Likewise, GM's BrightDrop Zevo 600 delivery van effectively exists apart from the consumer marketplace, so its contribution of just 35 units can be set aside too. That leaves us the two you've heard of: the GMC Hummer EV and Cadillac Lyriq — models with high sticker prices and long reservation queues. Through the second quarter (remember, we're talking six months here), GMC sold 49 Hummer EVs. No typo. In the three months that made up the third quarter, GM moved 1,167 of them. Not only is that a dramatic improvement over the first half, but it's more Hummers than GMC sold in the entirety of 2022 (854). Lyriq's improvement was less eye-popping on paper, but after moving just 122 total units in 2022 and 2,013 of them in the first half of 2023, Cadillac managed to up that figure to 3,018 units in the third quarter alone. GM is betting its short-term EV future on the Ultium platform, so these trends need to continue if that's going to be a profitable wager.
