Chevrolet Camaro 1le Hpe550 on 2040-cars
Corpus Christi, Texas, United States
I'm selling my 2013 1SS 1LE. I am the original owner and the car has been garage kept since I took delivery in 5/13. The car was taken to Hennessey Performance and had the HPE 550 package installed. The car is Crystal Red Tincoat and based on the posted production numbers, it is 1 of 20. This car looks and sounds AWESOME! The only options I added were NPP exhaust and the Boston Acoustics upgraded stereo. I have all original paperwork to include all build sheets and invoices. I have the clear title in hand. The HPE 550 package includes cold air intake, cam, head work, exhaust, thermostat and dyno-tune. The HPE550 package is a Naturally Aspirated package. There is not a supercharger. I have all the paperwork from that work as well, to include the dyno printout. I also still have all the original equipment from the car, if you want that as well. Here is the package info from the Hennessey website: Hennessey HPE550 Camaro Performance UpgradePower: 550 bhp @ 6,200 rpm Performance: 0 - 60 mph: 3.6 sec.* 1/4 mile: 11.7 @ 121 mph* *Performance numbers obtained with optional 20 inch drag radial tires and wheels. The HPE550 Upgrade Includes: Ported Cylinder Heads HPE Air Induction System Upgraded Valvetrain Parts HPE550 Camshaft Stainless Steel Longtube Headers 160 Degree Thermostat Professional Installation HPE Engine Management Calibration Dyno Tuning & Road Testing Hennessey HPE550 Exterior Badging Serial-Numbered Dash & Engine Plaques Hennessey Premium Floor Mats Hennessey Embroidered Headrests I didn't get the Embroidered Headrests, because mine are already embroidered with the SS logo. I still have the floor mats in the original plastic bags. They have never been opened or used. This car only has 3600 miles and has never been raced or driven competitively. I only drove it on weekends to car shows and cruise events. This car still smells new on the inside! The 1LE camaro is a rare vehicle and with the quality of mods that have been done, I believe this is a special car. I have priced this car to sell, you could not build this car for this price! I get looks and comments everywhere I go. I'm asking $40,000 for this car. I'm only selling to get back into the older car builds. Please email me if you have any questions, or if you are interested.

Junkyard Gem: 1980 Chevrolet LUV Mikado
Sat, Oct 9 2021During the 1970s and into the 1980s, each member of the Detroit Big Three imported Japanese small pickups and sold them with Ford (Mazda Proceed), Dodge/Plymouth (Mitsubishi Forte), or Chevrolet (Isuzu Faster) badges here. Ford developed the Ranger and killed the Courier for 1983 (though Americans could still buy the Mazda-badged version all the way through 1993), while The General axed the LUV after the S-10 debuted in the 1982 model year. Isuzu sold the same truck as the P'up through 1987, though, and we might as well follow up our recent P'up Junkyard Gem with its LUV predecessor. LUV stood for Light Utility Vehicle, and I've managed to spot a handful in the boneyards over the years. This one now resides in a yard in northeastern Colorado. The Mikado trim package included striped seat upholstery and a sporty steering wheel, plus these cool dash badges. As far as I can tell, no LUV Mikado advertising featured any Gilbert and Sullivan tunes. This one is fairly rusty for Front Range Colorado, and it has endured a bed swap from some other small truck. The engine is the 75-horse Isuzu 1.8-liter. Members of this engine family went into everything from Chevy Chevettes to Isuzu Troopers in the United States. Very unusually for a small pickup during the Malaise Era, this one has a luxurious automatic transmission. Acceleration must have been a leisurely affair in this truck. Air conditioning? Unheard of! Someone stuck every one of their lunchtime apple stickers on the driver's door. After 41 years of work, this truck is done. Come on strong in a LUV of your own!
2016 Chevrolet Camaro: Notes from the reveal
Sat, May 16 2015The 2016 Chevrolet Camaro debuted Saturday evening in Detroit at an enthusiast-oriented event near the city's IndyCar course. While the big news was the Camaro's 200-pound weight loss, tighter chassis, and a snorting new V8, plenty of other morsels of Camaro info came out. Here's some of the more interesting stuff we heard. The 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder is the first turbocharged engine in a Camaro. Β The LT1 borrowed from the Corvette Stingray marks the third time a Camaro has used an engine with that badge. It was previously used in 1970-72 (Z/28), 1993-97 (Z/28), and 1996-97 (SS). Β The Camaro was revealed in a tent before nearly 1,000 enthusiasts, General Motors executives (including CEO Mary Barra) and mere feet from the Grand Prix course where IndyCars will run in two weeks. Β Chevy hopes to continue to attract new customers with the Camaro and said 63 percent of the fifth-generation buyers were new to the brand. Β GM product boss Mark Reuss neatly summed up the Camaro's handling character. "It's wicked fast and extremely nimble." Β Reuss on the design goal: make it "look like a car for tomorrow instead of a car from yesterday." Β Reuss' first car was a 1967 Camaro, and he's reiterated his passion for the car. "People want to be seen in a Camaro, and that never goes away." Β Chevy North America president Alan Batey said he plans to line up a red Camaro as soon as the order bank opens. We assume he'll have early access to that. Β Though the appearance is similar, the sixth generation of the Camaro appears a little sleeker and is more aerodynamic thanks to 350 hours in the wind tunnel. Only two parts, the SS badge and the rear bow-tie emblem, are carryover. Β Al Oppenheiser, the Camaro's chief engineer, said most of the options (except Magnetic Ride Control, which is SS exclusive), will be offered on the inline four. The engine will be capable of propelling the Camaro to a sprint to 60 miles per hour in well under six seconds. "We don't want to ... make it feel like an excuse car," he said. Β Without revealing specifics, Oppenheiser said every Camaro variant will be faster than the model it replaces. ΒThe interior is vastly improved. We got an up-close look in the cabin of one of the cars revealed with a red and white layout, and the materials are much better. The setting is more colorful, and 24 different ambient lighting shades are available. Related Video:
Drivers buy new $300K McLaren 720S, 2019 Chevy Corvette, and wreck 'em
Tue, Jul 17 2018Two high-powered, high-priced sports cars, wrecked in their infancies. No doubt they were fun while they lasted. In Great Falls, Va., a tony suburb of Washington, D.C., that hugs the Potomac River, someone was out enjoying driving the McLaren 720S they had purchased only the day before on a leafy, two-lane road. Then, horror: In an instant, the car hit a tree, mangled and destroyed "because of speed," according to the Fairfax County Police Department. Purchased Friday. Totaled Saturday. This McLaren 720S, costing around $300,000, was destroyed today in Great Falls because of speed. The driver was taken to the hospital with thankfully only non-life threatening injuries. A reminder to slow down, or it could cost you. pic.twitter.com/XhC3LKRY1t Fairfax County Police (@FairfaxCountyPD) July 14, 2018 Then on salvage auction site Copart, a brand-new orange 2019 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport lies in a warehouse in Lincoln, Neb., its front left corner crushed, wheel askew. It had just 15 miles on the odometer. We know nothing of the backstory, except for the obvious front-end damage and secondary damage to the undercarriage. The rear end and 6.2-liter V8 engine, which makes 460 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque, look OK. The most current bid as this was published was just north of $9,000. It's tempting in both cases to assign the blame to over-eager drivers who weren't quite yet able to corral all that power. In the case of the McLaren, the supercar makes 710 horsepower and 568 pound-feet of torque from its quad-cam, twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8. It goes from 0-62 miles per hour in 2.9 seconds and boasts a top speed of 212 mph. We're not saying the unidentified driver was a newbie, but this car is definitely not for newbies. Police write that the incident is "A reminder to slow down, or it could cost you." As in, $300,000. Or at least the depreciation for driving it off the lot. Related Video:
