1971 Chevrolet Camaro Z-28 on 2040-cars
Long Beach, California, United States
This exceptionally clean and original Z-28 (one of 4,862) was built the second week of February, 1971 (02B) in
Norwood, Ohio, so it has the firewall “Cowl tag” with the Z28 verification stamp (Z28.19). Car has original
Owners Manual and Vehicle Warranty Policy documents. The car is painted the original Cranberry Red (#75) with
Black Stripes (#.19). Paint was redone in 1995, not showroom but very good (an 8+ on 10 scale). Body is very
straight and the car is rust free. The interior is standard Black (#775), with center console, shoulder and lap
belts and upholstery and carpets are in exceptional condition throughout. Gauges, lights, and accessories work,
horn does not. The car has power steering, 4 spoke sport steering wheel with F-60/15 Goodyear
Polyglass tires, power brakes with front discs and correct style 5 spoke factory wheels. The undercarriage of the
car received a restoration in 2008 including: original red oxide trim on panels, new brake lines, clutch, shocks,
body mounts, exhaust pipes, suspension parts and is in clean and pristine condition.
All the required identifiers unique to the 1971 “Z-28” are present such as; floor mounted gas pedal, 150 MPH
speedometer, 8,000 RPM tach., Cowl Tag stamp, aluminum spacers/bumpers on control arms, larger sway bars, sway bar
brackets, double snorkel air cleaner, rear bumperettes, front and rear spoilers(D80) and larger fuel line.
This Z-28 is highly original, simply superior, muscle car and not a trailer queen that runs strong, handles and
performs well and would make a fine addition to any serious collection or a fun car to cruise to the classic car
show.

Watch this week's Top Gear America used-car challenge
Sat, Sep 9 2017Top Gear America is back for the penultimate episode of the first season. Used car challenges were some of the highlights of the original UK edition. In our exclusive clip, Tom Ford, Antron Brown and William Fichtner run their $7,000 sports cars in a drag race. As expected, the trio chose very different cars for the challenge. Watch the video to see if a Subaru WRX's all-wheel drive can overcome a power deficit to beat a Ford Mustang and a Chevy Corvette. Brown and Fichtner also spend some time relaxing with an old Jeep Wagoneer. Like them, we're really hoping Jeep will bring back the Wagoneer nameplate. Brown also drives a Maserati Levante, proving that not all family cars need be boring. This week's guest star is actor, rapper and former host of Pimp My Ride, Xzibit. Top Gear America airs Sundays at 8 p.m. Eastern on BBC America. Related Video: Celebrities TV/Movies Chevrolet Ford Subaru Top Gear exclusive top gear america
Callaway, Lingenfelter boost Corvette Z06 way beyond 700 hp
Tue, Jul 28 2015With 650 horsepower and just as much torque on tap, few would accuse the latest Corvette Z06 of being down on power. But for those who'll always demand more, two leading Corvette tuners have just announced new tuning packages for the Z06 to boost Chevy's flagship well beyond 700 horsepower. The more powerful of the two comes from Callaway Cars, which has added a larger supercharger, a triple-action intercooler, and more to increase output to a massive 757 horsepower and 777 pound-feet of torque. The result, according to Callaway, is a 0-60 time quoted at 2.8 seconds and a quarter-mile run in 10.5. The package also includes a reshaped hood, all manner of trim upgrades, and a three-year warranty, and will set you back nearly $17k on top of the cost of donor vehicle that currently lists for $79,000. In what could only come second relative to Callaway's kit, Lingenfelter Performance Engineering has also released a Stage 1 package for the Z06. The kit includes a new dry sump damper, upgraded supercharger pulley and drive belt, and more – all of which Lingenfelter says will boost the Vette's output up to 720 hp and 730 lb-ft. Revised performance figures weren't released, but despite the 37-horse, 47 lb-ft deficit, we doubt it'd trail Callaway's by much. But both would likely leave the stock Z06 in their dust, and you can read more about them in the press releases below. Related Video: Callaway Cars Releases Their Most Powerful Corvette - 757 bhp / 777 lb-ft - Z06-based Corvette upgrade boasts 32% larger supercharger, triple intercoolers, and consistent power - lap after lap The Numbers - Callaway Cars today announced power numbers and performance for the flagship model in their performance car lineup. Equipped with Callaway's GenThree Supercharger, the Corvette Z06 now produces 757 bhp @ 6,200 rpm and 777 lb-ft @ 4,500 rpm (SAE). A launch to 60 mph is now achieved in 2.8 seconds, and a quarter-mile in 10.5 seconds at 131 mph. Why Go Big, When You Can Go Bigger? - Size Matters. To reach that power (which is up from 650 bhp / 650 lb-ft) the supercharger itself needed to be bigger since the output of a positive displacement supercharger is proportionate to its size. The Callaway GenThree supercharger is 32% larger in displacement (2300cc vs 1740cc). Cooling - Callaway engineers recognize that a key contributor to maximizing power is reduction of inlet air temperature associated with forced induction.
GM cars and SUVs recalled for leaking transmission fluid
Thu, Nov 5 2020General Motors is recalling more than 194,000 vehicles from 2018 to 2020 due to transmission fluid leaks. The leaks stem from an auto stop-start component that may have been installed with loose or missing bolts. The leaking fluid can affect the transmission's performance, and if it leaks onto a hot exhaust component, could potentially cause a fire. GM says that to date, it knows of no accidents or injuries related to the defect. The issue affects models from all four GM divisions. From Chevrolet, the affected vehicles are: 2018 Malibu, 2018–2019 Cruze, 2018–2020 Equinox, 2018–2020 Traverse, 2019–2020 Blazer At Buick, the following models are included: 2018–2019 LaCrosse, 2019–2020 Encore, 2019–2020 Enclave, At GMC, the recall includes: 2018–2020 Terrain, 2019–2020 Acadia Cadillac has two affected vehicles: 2019–2020 XT4 and 2020 XT6 The recall is scheduled to begin in mid-December. Owners of the affected vehicles will be contacted. Dealers will inspect the transmission accumulator, and replace those with loose or missing bolts.
