1968 Chevrolet Camaro, California car, restored original Black/Gold plates, pink slip in hand. I an the 3rd owner. This is a project car that DOESN'T have drive-train. The car is currently in primer, with fabricated stinger hood on it. There are also pics of car with yellow paint as I got it.
I have owned the car for about 6 years. It was purchase in So. Cal and is a true So. Calif car. It retains it's original: sheet metal, floor pans, doors, glass, guages, seats (out of car), steering wheel, safety belts. Original carpet has been taken out and the loose change found under carpet comes with car. The rear-end is a Moser with 3:73 Richmond Gears, Auburn posi. with around 3,000 miles (I HAVE NOT seen this rear-end in use. I purchased it from Tom Nelson. I am basing my statements on his knowledge and reputation. The hood is a fiberglass stinger, Nicky style hood. It came jelled on both sides and was professionally fabricated. (It was around $1000 new without fab work) I also have the original flat hood AND the cowl hood from prev. own. comes with aluminum Ron Davis radiator, twin fan/ missing one fan.
Overall, this is just a wonderful project for someone wanting a stratight, no-rust, original California car. When considering price, as you can see, you will not have to worry about replacing floors, roof or any sheet metal. There is the usual surface rust and patina. I will also add pic of cowl (trim) tag. This car is "non-op" with Calif. DMV, no back fees due. *Car is being sold locally, auction could end at any time.*

REGARDING RUST- As a novice who knows very little about body work, I do not think there is anything on this car that would need to be replaced due to rust. But my statement "NO RUST" is not accurate. There is surface rust throughout the car. If you can't see the car in person, please have a professional look at the pics. Thanks.
On Feb-13-13 at 07:23:26 PST, seller added the following information:
The REAR END is in the car. Engine Bay has has been painted in satin black. The trunk is all original sheet metal and in really nice shape with no rust. I found the "57" stamp in the sheet metal, indicating original to car. having trouble downloading pics. Please contact me for pics and I will send them to you.

Feds open investigation into Chevy Express, Ford Freestar rust issues
Wed, 28 Dec 2011'Tis the season... for road salt. And with that, comes rust. And what does rust bring? Well, for Ford and General Motors, a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration investigation. According to The Detroit News, NHTSA is looking into potential recalls issues with Chevrolet Express vans and Ford Freestar minivans.
The feds have received five complaints that rust has caused leaking fuel filler pipes on 2003 Express vans. Separately, seven complaints have been filed over excessive rust in the rear wheel wells of 2004 Ford Freestar and Mercury Monterey minivans. The Freestar and Monterey went out of production in 2007. Neither issue has resulted in any crashes or injuries, according to the report.
First 2015 Chevy Corvette Z06 engine blows up at just 891 miles
Thu, Jan 1 2015You've waited and watched and waited some more for the arrival of your 650-horsepower, $78,000 Chevrolet Corvette Z06. Finally, that joyous day arrives and you eagerly, but gingerly, begin to break-in the 6.2-liter supercharged V8 monster under your hood. Then 900-odd miles after delivery, your excitement grinds, quite literally, to a halt. That's what the owner of one 2015 Z06 claimed happened to him when a simple break-in drive resulted in a lunched engine. The owner, known as Lawdogg149 on Corvette Forum, says he was out breaking-in his car ahead of a January track event when it happened. "While making a pull from 35 miles per hour, I accelerated and shifted short of redline, and boom - the car began knocking. I pulled over and popped the hood. I could hear a loud knock coming from the No. 6 cylinder area along with a serious, grinding, metal-on-metal sound coming from the supercharger area," Lawdogg wrote. A subsequent trip to the dealer confirmed his concerns, with the service facility telling Lawdogg that the No. 6 valvetrain had failed. The dealer couldn't research the issue further, though, as General Motors requested the engine be returned for a more thorough evaluation. The good news for the Z06's unlucky owner, at least, is that GM will be covering the engine replacement under warranty, an expense that Corvette Forum estimates is a nearly $24,000 procedure. At this point, the two leading theories behind the engine's detonation involve a manufacturing defect – which could be why GM is so keen to tear the blown powerplant down – or a mistake on the part of Lawdogg. As Motor Authority points out, such an error could be something as simple as the Z06's owner accidentally shifting to first rather than third during his 35-mph pull. If, however, there's a deeper manufacturing problem with the Z06's engine, this might not be the only case we end up hearing about.
2020 Chevy Silverado HD vs. 2019 Ram, Ford heavy duty trucks: How they compare on paper
Tue, Jan 15 2019Last year was all about the latest in light-duty full-size pickup trucks, so this year, Ram, Ford and Chevy are launching the heavy-duty variants. The first out of the gate is the redesigned 2019 Ram 2500 and 3500 HD, and Ram dropped all the pertinent specs with the reveal. Chevy followed with the new Silverado HD in Chicago, and Ford revealed updates to the Super Duty at the same show. Ford hasn't released details on output, payload capacity, towing capacity or pricing for the updated Super Duty. As such, we'll be comparing the current Super Duty with the all-new Silverado HD and Ram HD. Both Chevy and Ram have revealed full specs for each of their respective trucks, leaving out only pricing, which we've estimated based on the outgoing models. You can see the raw details in the chart below, followed by extra information and analysis. Some things to keep in mind: These specifications cover all versions of the Ram HD, Silverado HD and Super Duty, such as 2500 and 3500 models, and all the way up to F-450. Specifications can vary widely based on engine, drivetrain, cab and bed configurations, so be sure to take a close look at the specific model you're interested in when you get particularly serious about buying. And of course, be sure to check out our car comparison tool if you'd like to look at other trucks on the market. Engines and drivetrains All three of these trucks offer gasoline and diesel engines, but only the Ram has two versions of the diesel. Starting with gas engines, Ram's 6.4-liter V8 has the power advantage with 25 more horsepower than the next-most-potent Super Duty, but the new Silverado HD's 6.6-liter V8 takes the torque crown at 464 pound-feet, nearly 35 more than the other two gas engines. The Ram is also the only one to pair an eight-speed automatic with the gas engine, whereas the Ford and Chevy make do with a six-speed. With diesel engines, horsepower is a weak point for the Ram. The Ram's entry-level turbo 6.7-liter inline-six is the weakest, as the only one with under 900 pound-feet of torque and under 400 horsepower. Even the high-output version only makes 400 horsepower, while the Chevy makes 445 and the Ford 450. But the tables turn with torque, as the Ram makes a best-in-class 1,000 pound-feet followed by the Ford's 935 and the Chevy's 910. Both the Ram and the current Super Duty diesels each get a six-speed automatic, but the new Silverado HD's diesel gets a 10-speed unit.
