Up for auction is my 1996 Chevrolet C3500 2WD dual rear wheel crew cab pick up. This truck is an Arizona/California truck before I bought it in '08 from an individual in Mesa AZ that had bought it from his father who used it to haul a slide-in camper. Truck has not been on the coast and has no rust. I am selling the truck because I no longer need to haul trailers bigger than what my Suburban can handle. I have maintained and serviced this truck myself. The AC blows cold, battery is brand new, the front end was rebuild with new upper and lower ball joints, upper and lower control arm bushings and alignment this last summer. The tie rod ends and pitman/idler arms were replaced last the year before. All U-joints and the carrier bearing was replaced last summer as well. Transmission was serviced at 100,000 with new fluid and filter and I added a drain plug to the pan. the front end is tight and drives well. The headache rack has brake lights as well as cargo lamps that turn on when you turn on the cargo lamp switch in the dashboard. The diamond aluminum toolbox is single lid style and extra deep capacity. I added plenty of D-ring tie-downs to the bed rails because you cant have enough tie-downs in the bed of a truck. The gooseneck hitch was added by me as well as trailer plug in the bed. I have only hauled a gooseneck less than 20 times lightly loaded. The bed has not been beat up as is the case with most oil field trucks in this area. Tires are good all around with only about 4,000 miles on them and 4 Alcoa aluminum wheels. Truck comes with full size spare and rubber bed mat. Interior has front captains chairs with center console. NHTSA upgrades probe into 1.7 million GM vehicles over wiper failures

WASHINGTON — The U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said Tuesday it is upgrading an investigation into 1.7 million General Motors vehicles for windshield wiper failures. The auto safety agency opened the probe in November 2018 to see if GM needed to expand a 2016 recall of 2013 model year Chevrolet Equinox and GMC Terrain SUVs to cover additional vehicles. The engineering analysis probe covers 2010-2012 and 2014-2016 Equinox and Terrain vehicles. NHTSA could demand a recall after it completes the probe. NHTSA said it has reviewed 1,900 complaints and reports related to the issue in the 1.7 million vehicles. NHTSA said it has seen elevated failure rates in the 1.7 million vehicles, even though GM said the recalled vehicles have "double the warranty rate and five times the complaint rate." GM said it will "fully cooperate to support their investigation. We do not believe these windshield washer systems are defective." The wiper failures that prompted the 2016 recall were attributed to water and debris intrusion into the windshield wiper assembly ball joints, leading to excessive wear and eventual detachment of the ball joint. GM said it was installing an improved windshield wiper motor and transmission assembly and relocating a drain hole at the base of the windshield. Related Video:

Chevrolet considering midsize crossover to slot between Traverse and Equinox

Crossovers are the new hotness, and automakers are looking to cash in by offering a size and shape for every customer. With Chevrolet's debut of the new 2018 Traverse in Detroit, which grew ever so slightly compared to the first-generation model, there is now a midsize-crossover-sized hole between the three-row Traverse and the compact Equinox. When asked about that obvious space, a Chevrolet spokesperson told us the company is looking into the possibility of expanding its crossover lineup. It should be a relatively simple thing to do, since all it would take is reskinning and rechristening the GMC Acadia with a bow tie, and we all know how much GM loves platform sharing. Although they're now different sizes, the new Acadia and Traverse still use the same platform; the Acadia is now on a short-wheelbase version of the C1XX while the Traverse uses long-wheelbase C1XX parts. A short-wheelbase Chevy built on the C1XX likely would be differentiated visually from both the Acadia and the larger Traverse. It may seem like flooding the lineup with more and more models would cannibalize sales of existing ones, but Chevrolet said it would rather have customers stay within the brand rather than going to another automaker. There have been whispers that some form of the Blazer name (possibly TrailBlazer) may make a return on a midsizer, but if it does don't expect an old-school body-on-frame SUV like the old one.
