For sale is my 1983 Chevrolet 1/2 ton 4x4 short box pickup. I purchased this truck in Phoenix , AZ in 2008. It has had only one previous owner and has always been an Arizona truck since it was sold new in Flagstaff in 1983. The paint and interior of the truck were in poor condition when I bought it so I did a complete cosmetic restoration to include new upholstery, rubber floor mat, GM dashpad, GM visors, GM door panels, GM vent window assemblies, and new rubber seals wherever needed. I also painted the entire truck (color change from copper) with Dupont Chromabase base coat clear coat paint, put on new tires, new rear bumper, changed gear ratio front and back from 3:08 to 3:73, put new Eaton limited slip in the rear differential and a Detroit TruTrack limited slip in the front differential and put a Warn 8274 winch with classic step bumper on the front. I also upgraded the air conditioning system to R134 and replaced the compressor with a new 4 Seasons unit.
The reason I am selling this truck is that I never use it. It just sits in my driveway. I have a 1976 1/2 ton that I use for my everyday hauling needs and a 2002 truck that I use for towing a fifth wheel travel trailer. When I bought the truck I had visions of doing some serious off roading with my friends, but that never transpired. I probably haven't driven this truck 1000 miles since I purchased it. And the roughest terrain I've driven it on has been some dirt back roads here in southern Arizona.
This is a very nice rust free Arizona truck in great mechanical and cosmetic condition.
The odometer reads 85,00 miles. I do not believe that this correctly represents the actual milage on the truck. I only listed it as such because Ebay wanted a number in the mileage box. I believe tha mileage is probably 185,000 miles. However, I have no way of knowing this and would like to state that the actual milage of this vehicle is unknown.
The only negative about this truck is that the factory smog equipment was removed by the previous owner. (catalitic converter and A.I R. pump) Please keep this in mind if you live in an area that will require smog certification. I have no idea what is required to licence this vehicle in your area. Except for the large metro areas in Arizona smog certification is not required here.
If you have any questions please call Phil @ (520) 458-7712

Chevy finishes restoration of damaged 1 millionth Corvette
Fri, Sep 4 2015When a sinkhole at the National Corvette Museum devoured eight, rare examples of the iconic American sports car last year, some of the victims emerged better than others. While damaged, the 2009 Corvette ZR1 Blue Devil was able to drive out under its own power, making for a fairly straightforward restoration. Meanwhile, the one-millionth 'Vette came out looking like a pancake. Bringing the convertible back to perfection has taken four months and 1,200 man-hours, but the milestone car is finally on display again. After being a brief exhibit at the National Corvette Museum, the millionth 'Vette was moved to the General Motors Design Center. There, a 30-person team started on the difficult restoration. "When we disassembled it, we found that each employee involved in building it had signed a part of the car, which was fantastic and moving to see," said GM executive Mark Reuss. Therefore, the team tried to retain as many original parts as possible. The damage was extensive, and repairs included straightening the front sub-frame damage, patching the seats, and carefully restoring the dashboard pad to maintain the signatures below. The hood, front fascia, and side sills were replaced with parts from a donor vehicle. To keep the 'Vette perfect, the team scanned the names and put them on the new components. In one case, they even went back to an original employee to sign a replacement part. Surprisingly, the engine and transmission were fine. With the work done, the National Corvette's Museum's revived exhibit is nearly complete. Five of the other cars aren't being restored, and the museum is bringing the 1962 Corvette back to life.
Your browser does not support iframes.
Chevrolet Fulfills 1 Millionth Corvette Restoration Pledge Sinkhole-damaged milestone returns to National Corvette Museum 2015-09-03 BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – After more than four months and 1,200 man-hours of painstaking craftsmanship, restoration of the milestone 1 millionth Corvette – a white 1992 convertible – is complete. It was unveiled today at the National Corvette Museum, where it returns as part of the permanent exhibit. The car was damaged on Feb. 12, 2014, when it and seven other rare Corvettes tumbled into a sinkhole that opened beneath the museum's Skydome area. Chevrolet pledged to restore it.
Chevy Volt 'Drive My Way' test cuts out the dealership
Tue, Dec 22 2015Last month, the 2016 Chevrolet Volt won the 2016 Green Car of the Year Award at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Awards are nice, but General Motors is now offering to make some folks' familiarity with the second-generation Volt a little more personal. Chevy is enacting what it calls the "Drive My Way" program, where the automaker brings a 2016 Volt directly to some prospective buyers for a 30-minute test drive with no dealer required, according to Hybrid Cars. Kind of like Tesla, only different. RedCap Valet is administering the program and is helping to track drivers' behind-the-wheel behavior, including keeping records on speed, acceleration, and braking habits. General Motors representatives didn't respond to a our request for further details about how many people will be chosen for the program or how these folks were picked to participate in "Drive My Way." Through November, the Volt's sales were down 23 percent from a year earlier to about 13,000 units, so any momentum for the 2016 version is a good thing. If you're just looking for numerical improvements, the new version has got you covered. It can go as far as 53 miles on electricity alone (about 15 miles further than the previous generation model) and it's got better miles per gallon and MPGe ratings as well. Of course, numbers alone aren't usually enough sell a car. Experience counts. So we ask, dear readers, if having a 2016 Volt brought to you for a half-hour test drive might make it more likely that you'll buy one of these extended-range plug-in vehicles. While you're waiting for a new Volt to arrive at your house, you can take a look here for our First Drive review. 2016 Lamborghini Huracan at the Horse Thief Mile | AutoblogVR
Tue, Sep 13 2016AutoblogVR returns to the Horse Thief Mile in the Mojave Desert to put the Lamborghini Huracan to the test. It's everything we want a modern supercar to be: Powerful, striking in appearance, and a riot to drive. But does it live up to Lamborghini's unique performance heritage? Senior Editor Greg Migliore reviews the Huracan on Horse Thief's unyielding curves and elevation changes to find out. Meanwhile, Autoblog Editor-in-Chief Mike Austin reviews a different kind of performance car – the Chevy SS at the IndyCar circuit on Detroit's Belle Isle. He's ably assisted by ace driver Simon Pagenaud. You must watch his hot lap! The SS is old-school V8 American muscle wrapped in Australian design and engineering. This AutoblogVR segment also launches on the app Sept. 13, and the teaser follows the Huracan preview above. Each week, new episodes will launch on the AutoblogVR App. We'll preview them here on Autoblog, but for the full immersive experience, head over to the app, which you can download for free from the App store and Google Play.
