Vehicle came out of NY. I purchased it a few months ago and have used it as a shop truck of sorts. It was redone about 10-12 years ago and has been gently used since then. Recently, the body/paint was wet sanded and buffed out professionally. NEW tires were put on the stock reconditioned wheels. NEW battery, NEW fuel pump, NEW carburetor, and a ton more minor servicing and maintenance was performed. This is by far the most dependable and reliable truck I've owned in a long time, with 90k original miles.
OPTIONS:
Power steering
Manual brakes
Bench seat interior
Dual exhaust (with Flowmaster style mufflers)
Stock truck Rally wheels with 31" tires (NEW)
Automatic transmission on the column
Dual gas tanks
Bedliner
Dual color (chevy hugger orange and white)
Bed cover
Tow hitch
Mechanically it fires right up and sounds great along with the nice and throaty exhaust system. Motor is a 350ci V8 (bored 0.030 over with a few minor internal upgrades like a mild camshaft and such) pushing out approx. 275hp. It has an aluminum intake manifold, Accel electronic ignition coil, full headers into dual Flowmaster style mufflers, Edelbrock 4bbl. carburetor and lots more. Transmission is solid and shifts good through all the gears without any noises or grinding. Now as for driving the car, i've taken it out of state several times, and everywhere around town to haul parts. You can cruise with it on the highway all day and I would trust it to drive anywhere at the drop of a hat.
Interior is very presentable. Bench seat in good shape (one small repair by lower left side). Door panels in fair shape overall. Carpet is worn and has a couple of rips here and there but presentable. Headliner is ok (a bit droopy), Steering wheel in fair shape with normal wear. Dash pad has one of those plastic caps over the original and looks great. Overall very presentable for a working man's driver truck.
Underside has a SOLID frame. Floorboards have had a couple of prior metal patches but are rock solid. Bed is in excellent shape. It's as nice as you would want a truck to be without being all painted and show ready.
The old girl is NOT perfect by any means of course so please keep that in mind when bidding. Paint is in fairly good shape and cleans up very nice, but was NOT a $10k paintjob so please keep that in mind (looks good but has some issues of course like small dings, a few touch-ups, some scratches, couple of stress cracks and the like). A few bubbles at base of front windshield corners. Hood has a stress crack by the front. Chrome is presentable (bumpers were replaced a few years ago), but could use headlight bezels replaced/rechromed. Carburetor is new but has a flat spot when car is just getting going. Not working: passenger side gas tank does not operate at this time for some reason, horn, perhaps a bulb or two here and there would need replacing (like the courtesy light). Some surface rust by inner door jambs and in the rear where the back of the cab meets the bed where it was not repainted during the repaint. Windshield has a small 4" crack by passenger side (not affecting visibility).
So overall she is not perfect and will need some form of TLC depending on how nice you want it to be and what you plan to do with the car. Please note, I cannot remember every single issue with the car, nor do I know everything wrong with it, as it is after all over 33 years old so keep that in mind.
If you just want a GREAT LOOKING and nearly RUST-FREE DRIVER needing tlc, this is the car for you. If you want a show car, it will need some considerable investment or total restoration to bring it up to that level of course. I ENCOURAGE ANYONE BIDDING OR SERIOUSLY INTERESTED TO COME LOOK AT IT IN PERSON. I WILL BE GLAD TO SHOW IT TO YOU TOP TO BOTTOM SO YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOU'RE GETTING INTO.

GMC Canyon, Chevy Colorado diesels finally heading to dealers
Fri, Jan 1 2016Customers who have been waiting to receive their diesel-powered Chevrolet Colorados and GMC Canyons should be relived to hear that GM will finally start to ship them out of the Wentzville Assembly Plant. "The highly anticipated 2016 GMC Canyon diesel has begun shipping to dealers," a company spokesperson confirmed to The Detroit News. The trucks originally had a fall launch date, but a final review forced a delay in deliveries. The 2.8-liter four-cylinder diesel in the midsize trucks produces 181 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, and the company touts the engine's low emissions. The Environmental Protection Agency and California Air Resources Board even put the mill through extra scrutiny with a real world test in the wake of VW's diesel scandal, and the Duramax passed with no problems. At that time, a Chevy spokesperson told Autoblog that the models' launch was on track. The Duramax engine adds $3,730 to the price of a comparable V6 model, but they're the most fuel-efficient pickups on the market. The EPA estimates the twins at 31 miles per gallon highway, 22 mpg city, and 25 mpg combined in two-wheel drive form and 29/20/23 with four-wheel drive. Buyers likely can't wait to finally experience these pickups after reading a heap of positive reviews. The Colorado diesel recently earned Motor Trend's Truck of the Year award. We also came away impressed with it during our First Drive and liked the Canyon during our Quick Spin. Related Video:
Junkyard Gem: 1987 Chevrolet Turbo Sprint
Sun, Feb 6 2022Fifteen years ago, I wrote my first-ever automotive article under the name Murilee Martin, and it didn't take me long to start writing about one of my favorite automotive subjects: the junkyard. Before I'd refined my system for documenting discarded vehicles, however, I shot a lot of boneyard photos that never got used. For today's Junkyard Gem, I have four shots from early 2007 of one of the rarest turbocharged machines of the 1980s: the Chevrolet Turbo Sprint. The Chevrolet Sprint was really a rebadged Suzuki Cultus, from the pre-Geo era when General Motors sold the Isuzu Gemini as the Chevrolet Spectrum, the Daewoo LeMans as the Pontiac LeMans and the Toyota Corolla as the Chevrolet Nova (soon enough, the Spectrum became a Geo, and the Nova became the Prizm). The second-generation Cultus appeared in 1988, becoming the Geo Metro on our shores the following year. The Turbo Sprint was available for just the last two years of the Sprint's 1985-1988 American sales run, and it appears that just a couple of thousand were sold; if I'd known at the time just how rare they were, I'd have shot more photos of this one at the now-defunct Hayward Pick Your Part. The turbocharged 993cc three-cylinder produced 70 horsepower, 22 better than the naturally-aspirated version. Since the Turbo Sprint weighed just 1,620 pounds (that's about 500 pounds lighter than a barely more powerful '22 Mitsusbishi Mirage), it was plenty of fun to drive. For 1988, the regular Sprint hatchback cost $6,380 while the Turbo Sprint listed at $8,240 (that's about $15,375 and $19,855 today, respectively). Believe it or not, a Turbo Sprint actually raced in the 24 Hours of Lemons 10 years ago, though it didn't end well. This ad is for the regular Cultus, not the Cultus Turbo, but the screaming guitars sound reasonably turbocharged. For the most part, Chevy Sprint marketing was all about cheap purchase price and stingy fuel economy… at a time when gasoline prices were cratering. Related Video:
Why does Chevy want to trademark Camaro Krypton?
Mon, Jun 1 2015The Chevrolet Camaro and Ford Mustang have the type of long-lived rivalry that is often found in the pages of comic books. Is the Camaro the Kryptonite to the Mustang's Superman, though? We might get to find out soon, if two recent trademark filings are any hints. On May 5, General Motors filed trademarks in the US for both Krypton and Camaro Krypton (not pictured above). While the move seemed potentially timed with the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice next year, engineer Al Oppenheiser shot that theory down to The Detroit Free Press. "I think that's just Internet buzz, which is great," he said to the newspaper about the alleged connection. "It's another thing about this segment of cars: there's always Internet buzz." Rather than a special edition connected to next the superhero film, Oppenheiser speculated something else. "Sometimes when we come up with a new color in our studios, they just apply [for a trademark] in case we ever use it," he said to The Detroit Free Press. "We never said we're going to do anything with that color." Still, as Superman's home planet and part of the name for the mineral that can harm him, Krypton undoubtedly has a superhero connection. To maintain the link to the comics, such a color would likely be a shade of green. Although, depending on the depiction in the books, the exact hue can vary between bright neon and a darker tone.
