Here's a BAD little 72.  Short box, step side pickup that gets the looks wherever she goes!  She's not perfect but she's not far from it.  A blast to cruise around in but put your foot into it and it's an all out jailbreak!  Only parting with her due to health problems.  Let me tell you a little about her.

She has a 454 bored 100 over

396 Ported and Polished heads

Roller cam, lifters and rockers

10.5:1 Pistons

Chrome Edlebroch intake

Deman 750 carb

MSD ignition with REV limiter and Mallory wires

8 qt. oil pan

Headers and Flowmaster exhaust that dumps right behind cab

40-50 pounds of oil pressure at all times

Motor is strong with no issues.

Fastest rapping big block I've ever heard!

She has a Turbo 400 automatic with shift kit

12 bolt posi. rear end, 4.10 gears.  Traction can be an issue.  She does like to smoke 'em.

New front and rear BFG's

New Pacer aluminum rims

All gauges work

CAB

Carpet is in good shape, dash pad has no cracks, door panels are Cheyenne Deluxe.  She is an AC cab but it isn't hooked up.  She has a stereo headliner.

Her box has 16 gauge diamond plate for the floor.

She was restored 15 years ago and is starting to show wear.  Driver's side seat has a tear in the seat so a reupholstering may be needed or it may be a simple repair, you be the judge.  The rear end will need to be rebuilt soon as it will slip out of posi at times.  Right front fender, rear, bottom has some rust starting to come through and the hood hinges need to be replaced.  Was going to put chrome ones but never got around to it.  Cab corners, rocker panels and floor are solid.  Box has no rust, fenders are real good and solid.  Tailgate has louvered cover and bumper insert.

Any questions at all, please ask before bidding.  This is a beautiful truck with just a few issues.  Won't find many like this around.  She is a dying breed.

Non-refundable, $500 depost is due within three days of bidding end with the remainder due in full prior to shipping or pick up.  She is being sold AS IS with no warranty.  Not responsible for speeding or eluding tickets.  :-)  We've had our share of "good times".

Recharge Wrap-up: GM, LG Chevy Bolt collaboration, Honda Energy Star plants

Wed, Feb 3 2016

Green Car Reports details the relationship between GM and LG in the development and production of the Chevy Bolt. The unique relationship between the two companies began in 2008, and now sees LG producing a multitude of systems for the Bolt, many of which were designed by or with GM. LG's involvement in the Bolt has gone so deep as "defining what will this vehicle be, everything from how we are going to package it, what size it should be, what kind of performance it should have," according to Pam Fletcher, GM's Executive chief engineer for electrified vehicles. Forgoing the traditional automotive relationship for a more collaborative one doesn't just save money, but it also gives GM access to LG's suite of technologies and manufacturing capabilities. Read more at Green Car Congress. The EPA has awarded three Honda factories with Energy Star certification. The automaker's assembly plants in Marysville and East Liberty, Ohio have now earned Energy Star certification ten consecutive years. The Marysville plant added LED lighting, hydrogen-powered tow motors and forklifts, high efficiency HVAC and direct-fired water boilers. The East Liberty facility added new LED lighting and replaced a large water heater with a high-efficiency one. Honda's newest US plant, Honda Manufacturing of Indiana, installed LED lighting and used energy efficient features in its recent expansion. Honda also cites a culture of energy-mindedness – for every associate – for its success. "When everyone involved considers energy efficiency and how they can help the environment, results improve," says Karen Heyob, Honda's sustainability boss in North America. Read more from Honda. The student-led Associated Students of the University of Montana (ASUM) Transportation has ordered two Proterra electric buses. The 40-foot Catalyst Fast Charge buses will serve the campus, and will recharge with a semi-autonomous fast charger. "As part of our ongoing effort to innovate service, align with student advocacy and reduce our carbon footprint, we take great pride in our decision to go electric," says ASUM Office of Transportation Director Jordan Hess. "We hope this encourages – and challenges – other universities to seriously consider the economic and environmental benefits of zero-emission buses." Read more in the press release below. A conversation with GM's Mark Reuss on MPG, aluminum and Corvettes

Wed, Feb 19 2014

There was plenty to talk about when General Motors hosted its annual mid-December holiday media reception a few months ago. GM had just decided to pull its global Chevrolet brand out of major European markets, where Chevys have competed directly with GM Europe Opel and Vauxhall vehicles, and the US government had sold its last remaining shares of GM stock. But most important was the company's just-reshuffled leadership. Post-bankruptcy CEO Dan Akerson had announced that he would step aside and that 52-year-old Mary Barra would replace him on January 15. Not only would she be the first woman to lead a major automaker, she would also be GM's first engineer CEO since Bob Stempel in the early 1990s. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors" - Mark Reuss Replacing her as executive VP for global product development (and purchasing and supply chain) would be 49-year-old Mark Reuss, who had served a stellar four years as North American president, and elevated to corporate president (from executive VP and CFO) would be 42-year-old Dan Amman. All three are relatively young auto enthusiasts who are liked and respected inside and outside the company, and their collective talents and experience are highly complementary. I've interviewed Barra and found her smart, personable and knowledgeable, though she carefully walks the corporate line in speaking and answering questions. I met and chatted with Ammann for the first time at that holiday reception, and he made a good first impression. But I've known Reuss for some time as a genuinely good guy and a highly capable and inspiring leader, and I believe he is exactly the right person for the global product responsibility once famously held by the outspoken, oft-controversial Bob Lutz. So I jumped at an opportunity to join a group interview of Reuss (with mostly business reporters) at the Detroit Auto Show in January. It was an interesting session of mostly good questions, which he answered with refreshing candor and humor. "I look at 2013 and 2014, as the retooling of General Motors," Reuss said. "We've taken down almost every plant in North America, converted and turned it this last year, and to do that with award-winning vehicles and pretty flawless launches is key. We have to keep the train rolling on great product, because the rest won't happen without the best product, period." A reporter asked whether GM was pushing big trucks, SUVs and Corvettes again because gas is cheap. "No," Reuss said.

Hagerty kicks back with Ringbrothers for a look at the Recoil

Sat, May 2 2015

Over the years, Ringbrothers has shown the ability to mix a meticulous eye for style and serious amounts of horsepower with customs like the Pantera-based Adrnln. The company's recent project, a tuned 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle called Recoil, is some of its best work yet and already has Jay Leno's denim-clad stamp of approval. Now, Hagerty is taking a look, while digging into the history of the actual Ring brothers: Mike and Jim. The two guys grew up in a small town where owning a car was practically a necessity, and the brothers were already wrenching before they could even legally drive. Eventually, that passion grew into a business, which led to wonderfully customized performance vehicles like the Recoil. Hagerty gets a fascinating look into Ringbrothers tuning philosophy in its interview. Of course, the real interest lies in this custom Chevelle, and there's a chance to hear the absolutely ferocious sound from the Recoil's supercharged V8 in this clip.
