1970 Chevy C-10 Stunning !! on 2040-cars
Groveland, Florida, United States
Extemely well built and tastful C-10 Chevy stepside. This truck was built in Atlanta and has been around that area for its entire life. Born a real V-8 automatic stepside that was originally Orange in color. I left the clove box inside the real color almost dead on the 1970 Hugger Orange it is painted now. The truck is a frame off restoration with the chassis remaining stock and rebuilt. Has a great running 350 with a nice cam and super ride . Rides and runs like a go-cart and sounds mean with flowmasters and Z-28 side exhaust tips (cool), and it is pretty quick. Interior is all new dash carpet, gauges, knobs ... everything. New Dodge Dakota seats and fold down center, looks fabulous. Paint and body are a 9.7 and I'm real picky, I would consider this to be show quality. Very nice oak bed and gas tank conversion.Custom cat eye LED taillights ,all chrome is new or polished.
This is a well built C-10 and was a simple plan to be just a little different but not too obvious. Workmanship on the bed inner walls are smoothed, driprails smoothed, door poppers and emblem clean. Just look at the details in the engine compartmen,t hours of hard work and money. As you know is all about the workmanship and time spent and this one books in at over 600 man hours. At a custom shop at $50 bucks an hour ..you get the picture here. Also this is a real rust free truck ...NO real body work anywhere accept where customed. Less than 3000 break in miles. 18X9 COY Wheels GM front disk brakes 40-20-40 front seat Nice stereo Lunati Voo-Doo cam 525/546 double hump heads steel crank polished high rise Holley 750 Turbo 350 Tranny 303 rear 12 bolt Goodmark cowl hood Custom gas tank much, much more You can buy this truck for thousands less than it would take to build. Get in it now and drive it anywhere. Why wait or do the hard work when you have one ready to go !!!!!!!! This is a show stopper and draws a crowd everywhere and get the looks everytime out. I have perfect feedback and have described this truck to the best of my knowledge, which is not limited .I own several cars and trucks and sell a few from time to time for something new. The only thing I noticed this morning was the power window on the pass side is slow and was sticking, simple fix.. I require $1000.00 at auction end and will have the truck available for inspection with a phone call. Great runner hate to see this one go..my wife drives and loves this truck. Slammed down , completely rust free 70 Chevy pickup....it doesn't get much better than this at this price..serious calls or questions ...Mark... three two one 663 8790 |

GM recalls 330,000 fullsize trucks for airbag replacement
Sun, May 31 2015General Motors has announced a recall of 330,198 fullsize pickups in the US in the aftermath of the announcement made on May 19 that doubled the number of vehicles being called in to replace Takata's defective airbag inflators. That announcement expanded the nationwide recall to an estimated 33.8 million vehicles in the US. Heavy Duty versions of the 2007 and 2008 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra are included in GM's move, for the purpose of replacing the passenger airbag inflators. The announcement made by the National Highway Traffic Safety Association cited long-term exposure to moisture as a possible cause of the inflator issues. GM says it isn't aware of any problems with the recalled pickups due to moisture, nor has it had any reports of crashes, injuries, or fatalities, and has not received any complaints. GM will notify owners, who can then take their trucks to the dealers to have them repaired free of charge. You'll find a statement from GM and the recall notice from NHTSA below. (Takata). This recall implements Takata's air bag inflator equipment recall announced on May 19, 2015 (NHTSA recall number 15E-041). GM is not aware of any humidity-related ruptures in Takata air bag inflators in any GM-badged vehicles in the field and knows of no crashes, injuries, fatalities or complaints regarding air bag performance in these vehicles. How GM engineers are using diaper 'snow' to keep you warm
Thu, Jan 8 2015Testing how snow affects General Motors' vehicles isn't really a problem right now for the company's engineers, but in the dog days of summer the process isn't exactly easy. The only real option is for them to book time at the automaker's climatic wind tunnel. However, a flash of brilliance from an engineer allows snow to be simulated regardless of the temperature outside, and the discovery is all because of his daughter's wet diaper. The realization came to GM Thermal Systems engineer Nicholas Jahn while he was swimming with his daughter and noticed how her diaper ballooned in size in the water. He found out the substance that makes this possible is called sodium polyacrylate. When the material gets wet it grows and forms fluffy flakes that are a close imitation of snow. Best of all, the stuff can be prepared easily any time of the year, and it's reusable. The engineering team uses the material to test the effectiveness of the heating systems of GM's vehicles. They spread the sodium polyacrylate over the inlets at the base of the windshield to obstruct the airflow and then crank the heater. After some time, they can see how much is being sucked into the system and design more efficient systems in the future. See how the process works in the video above and read about the diaper discovery in GM's press release below. Diapers Change Chevy Cruze Winter Warm-up Time GM validation engineer uses diaper material "snow" to reduce frigid drives 2015-01-06 DETROIT – An item commonly found on an infant's changing table is helping General Motors' engineers simulate snow year round, ensuring heating systems in cars like the 2015 Chevrolet Cruze can quickly and efficiently warm its interior. Packed snow can prevent air from entering the inlet panel at the bottom of the windshield, obstructing the flow of air into the heating system and reducing the amount of air it can push out. This can lead to less efficient warming of the car's interior and windshield defrosting. "The last thing anyone wants to do when it's freezing cold out is scrape their windshield," said Nicholas Jahn, GM Vehicle Thermal Systems engineer. "The testing we perform on the Chevrolet Cruze with the diaper material allows us to maximize the car's heating capabilities." Ironically, Jahn stumbled upon his diaper-based testing method in the middle of summer. During a swim with his daughter, he noticed her diaper multiplied in size when it came into contact with water.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
