1969 chevrolet shortbed pickup , rust free blue plate Ca. truck (built at Fremont Ca. plant and always in Ca. I believe ) . I just finished a full frame off restoration on it and intended to keep it for myself , but just purchased a house that needs some remodeling so I have to sell the truck . Completely disassembled down to the frame . everything cleaned and painted , all new cab and bed mounts , all new lines and hoses , 0 miles on rebuilt small block with jet hot coated headers and 4 barrel carb , rebuilt turbo 400 trans , 12 bolt rear . All new brakes (front disc ) all hardware zinc plated , lots of parts powdercoated . All new glass , weatherstripping , interior , chrome , trim , polished stainless bed strips and hardware , oak bed floor . New steering wheel , dash pad , seat , door panels , carpet , vents etc. The whole bed is brand new , sides , front panel , tailgate , wheelwells . All the gauges have been restored , original A/C truck with new compressor , all new lines and ducting under dash . New HEI iginition and wires . Nice set of Rallys and tires , comes with a nice set of 15 x 7 and 8.5 American or Ansen slotted mags that I started polishing , I think they will look great on the truck , they fit right to the lips of the fenders . Currently registered to me , clear title ready to go . I could go on and on , includes some extra parts as well . I require full payment by bank wire transfer within 3 days , sold as is , ask questions and inspect before bidding . 0 miles on restoration , 73,000 on nice original stock truck when I got it . On Jun-29-13 at 12:42:50 PDT, seller added the following information:

It's got cold Air conditioning , gauges and lights all work , just about everything is new or restored and it looks even better in person . If the rallys are too plain , the mags would look great or do 18"s or 20"s if you like . I put a ton of money , time and effort in to this truck . Runs great , sounds super healthy !

On Jul-02-13 at 07:39:58 PDT, seller added the following information:

Somebody asked about the wheels and tires so I wanted to clarify , the Rallys on it were on another project I had for a few years . They have less than 100 miles on them but are a few years old . It also comes with a nice set of 70's style slotted mags , made by Ansen or American I can't recall which . They are partially polished and would look great on the truck , won't stick out past the fenders but will fill them out just right . I just put on a brand new Edelbrock carb . I thought this truck should be worth $30,000 or more with all the time and money in it , I just dropped the reserve because I can really use the cash right now .

A hybrid and electric Corvette, plus we drive the Ioniq 5 | Autoblog Podcast #728

Fri, May 6 2022

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Road Test Editor Zac Palmer. Zac drove the electric 2022 Hyundai Ioniq 5, and Greg drove the fire-breathing 2022 Maserati Levante Trofeo. The two dive deep into the relatively heavy news week by starting off with a discussion about the upcoming hybrid Corvette before chatting about what the electric Corvette might be like. They have a chat about the possibility of Porsche and Audi officially joining the Formula 1 field. Then, Greg and Zac get into some quick-hitting news to round out the segment by dissecting the updated Kia Soul (now without a turbo), the 30th Anniversary Edition Land Rover Defender and the new CEO at Aston Martin. Following the news and drive reviews, they rope in Senior Editor, Green John Beltz Snyder to give them a quick download of what went down at the first drive for the 2022 Ford F-150 Lightning. Finally, they reach into the mailbag and answer some questions from someone who is less than pleased about infotainment systems in some new cars. And lastly, the gang hears back from someone they helped out in a prior Spend My Money segment on the podcast. Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. Hillary Clinton takes to campaign trail in a van called Scooby

Wed, Apr 15 2015

It still seems way too early to even starting thinking about the 2016 presidential election, but candidates are already throwing their hats in the ring. Among the officially announced hopefuls so far is former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. To kick off her run for office, she recently embarked on a long-distance road trip from her home in New York to the campaign battleground of Iowa. Rather than a limo, she was driven there in a conversion van (pictured above) that Clinton named Scooby after Hanna-Barbera's famous, mystery-solving dog. According to Yahoo Autos, the vehicle itself is a Chevrolet Express that has been customized by the Explorer Van Company, and Time says that it's also armored. Clinton isn't behind the wheel, though. All those years in public office mean that the Secret Service does the driving. Of course, the vehicle in Scooby Doo was named the Mystery Machine, and Scooby was mostly brown, not black. To explain the somewhat odd naming, Clinton traveled around in a brown van during her 2000 Senate campaign in New York, and it earned the nickname Scooby, according to Time. Apparently, the moniker has stuck for her latest ride. If the start of the Clinton campaign seems early, she isn't the first White House hopeful to arrive in Iowa this year. A bunch of possible Republican candidates already met at summits in the state at least twice to gain favor ahead of the caucus there. No word on what they were driving...

24 Hours of Le Mans live update part one

Sat, Jun 18 2016

We tasked surfing journalist Rory Parker to watch this year's live stream of the 2016 24 Hours of Le Mans. What follows is an experiment to experience the world's greatest endurance race from the perspective of a motorsports novice with a profanity-laden stream-of-consciousness writing style. Parker lives in Hawaii and spends far more time spearfishing than behind the wheel of a car. Jump ahead to Part Two here, and Part Three here. Big Money and billionaire hobbyists and rockets on wheels. Jets belching French color smoke overhead. Balance of power fuckery. Plenty of water on the ground this morning. Absurdly expensive motorcars lined up in the pissing rain. Fast twitch lunatics behind the wheel. Chomping at the bit. Let's go let's go let's go! Race hasn't even started, Ford #67 maybe dealing with clutch issues. Karma? That beautiful bastard Brad Pitt's out on the track, waving the tricolor flag. It's a standing start in "Noah's Ark" weather and the 2016 24 hours of Le Mans is go! First lap takes place behind the safety car, finished in a record setting 8 minutes 27 seconds. Wrong kind of record maybe, but this is the first time I've set my mind to watching the whole damn race. Feel like I'm part of history. 3:00 AM on Kauai, a little too early for life. Sucking down coffee like a maniac. Don't fall back asleep. Got my hands on four hours of rest, how much more can I need? Better be enough for the next twenty four hours. Gonna get kinda punchy toward the end. Jason Statham on the scene. Four feet of solid muscle, non-existent hairline. Lovely wife peanut gallery sitting next to me calls him the "best race car drive in the world." Not sure if she's serious. Toss up, could go either way. Statham's a funny guy. Heir to the Bruce Willis comedy action crown. Really good in the movie where the fat comedy lady plays a spy. Ford's on the road. Problems with gearbox pressure, apparently. Nearing a half hour in and the safety car is still on the track. Hellish amounts of water on the ground, in the air. Visibility is garbage. Getting better. Twitter wags, "Not with a bang but a whimper." Just building suspense. Mother Nature felt like killing some people today, race officials need to dial back the drivers until it dries a tad. Normal inclination would've seen 'em flying, guaranteed early lap wrecks. Sad news for that bloodthirsty part of my lizard brain I try and keep suppressed. Good news for humanity. #12 in the pit for a bit.
