1969 Chevrolet C-10 Shortbed Step Side Pickup on 2040-cars
Woodbine, New Jersey, United States

1969 Chevy C-10 shortbed stepside pickup. This truck currently does not run. I bought this truck to restore but have another project. Pickup has a 350 motor that previous owner said ran but had a rod nock.Has headers with newer dual exhaust system. The transmission is a turbo 350, unknown stahl speed with a B & M floor shifter. The rear is a 12 bolt posi 3:73 ratio. The truck is all 6 lug drum brakes but comes with a 1970 5 lug ( non posi) rear and 1970 5 lug front disc brake setup. There are many parts with the truck, all glass is good except the windshield is cracked. The cab has a small back window that was only available on 1967 Chevy trucks. I believe someone put another cab on the truck. The seat is in decent shape. The front fenders are decent and the hood has a cowl scoop that is a hack job. Hood opens and closes. The frame is in great shape and has not been cut. The trailing arms have rust and the prior owner lowered the truck but cutting the coil springs. It was not a professional job. The truck rolls, brakes work, transmission shifts. The bed was cut in an apparent attempt to tub the rear. It has a new bed mounting kit. The tailgate is not heavily rusted but bent up pretty good. Most of the parts are there to put the truck back together. The cab floor and toe boards are rusted as are the rocker panels. The drivers side door hinges are broken but the door is in decent condition. You Must pick this truck up within 10 days close of auction and immediate deposit of $200.00 is required. ALL 0 feedback bidders bids will be rejected. Buyer pays all shipping charges. I reserve the right to end this auction at any time. I've sold many a hot rod on ebay and you can check my feedback. No clowns please. Any questions please call Lou at 609-701-0073. If I dont answer leave your name and call back number and I will get back to you when I get back into my office.

Hagerty kicks back with Ringbrothers for a look at the Recoil
Sat, May 2 2015Over the years, Ringbrothers has shown the ability to mix a meticulous eye for style and serious amounts of horsepower with customs like the Pantera-based Adrnln. The company's recent project, a tuned 1966 Chevrolet Chevelle called Recoil, is some of its best work yet and already has Jay Leno's denim-clad stamp of approval. Now, Hagerty is taking a look, while digging into the history of the actual Ring brothers: Mike and Jim. The two guys grew up in a small town where owning a car was practically a necessity, and the brothers were already wrenching before they could even legally drive. Eventually, that passion grew into a business, which led to wonderfully customized performance vehicles like the Recoil. Hagerty gets a fascinating look into Ringbrothers tuning philosophy in its interview. Of course, the real interest lies in this custom Chevelle, and there's a chance to hear the absolutely ferocious sound from the Recoil's supercharged V8 in this clip.
2014 Chevrolet SS makes its live debut
Sat, 16 Feb 2013Chevrolet showed off the new 2014 SS in an airport hangar last night, its first rear-wheel-drive performance sedan in the US since the Impala SS from 1997. We'll have more to say about the SS later today, but this is the sedan that Chevrolet sees as the final piece in restoring its performance credentials. For those of you looking for a manual transmission, however, that wish will go unfulfilled - at least for now: the only two options buyers will have are the color and whether or not they want a sunroof.
We'll work on getting some more angles (in better light) today at Daytona International Speedway, but with fans seeing the car for the first time, we don't hold out much luck of getting a clear shot. So for now, enjoy the high-res gallery above.
GM removes start/stop from full-size trucks and SUVs with V8 engines
Mon, Jun 14 2021GM is removing start/stop technology from a number of its popular full-size SUVs due to the ongoing chip shortage. This follows the removal of cylinder deactivation technology from some of its trucks, which was also due to the chip shortage. GM Authority first reported the news, but we’ve just confirmed everything with a GM spokesperson. The following 2021 model year vehicles will be affected: Chevy Tahoe, Chevy Suburban, GMC Yukon, Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500. Only versions of those vehicles built with the 5.3-liter V8 or 6.2-liter V8 and mated to the 10-speed automatic will have the tech removed from them. Only vehicles manufactured on or after June 7 will be affected. “By taking this measure, it will enable us to continue production of our high-demand full-size SUV and pickups as the industry continues to rebound and strengthen,” GM said in a statement. Those who ultimately buy one of these vehicles without start/stop technology will receive a $50 discount off MSRP for their troubles. Losing this fuel-saving tech could be a big negative for some, but we know many folks turn it off anyway. Not having to press the button to deactivate start/stop every time could actually be a positive if youÂ’re part of the camp who does that already. 2021 Cadillac Escalade Sport Platinum View 27 Photos On the downside, GM says “most of the affected vehicles will experience a minor reduction in fuel economy.” We donÂ’t have revised window stickers in hand to know how each model will be affected, but any 1 mpg reduction will be rather impactful for vehicles rated as low as these trucks already are. Any reduction will be seen in the city mpg rating, so take the kind of driving youÂ’re going to be doing into account before purchasing. When it comes to greenhouse gas compliance rules, GM says it doesnÂ’t foresee this impacting the companyÂ’s average fleet score. It also intends to begin adding start/stop back to these models as soon as possible, but there will be no retrofit effort made to fit the tech to vehicles already built without it. “Our supply chain organization continues to make strides working with our supply base to mitigate the near-term impacts of the semiconductor situation,” GMÂ’s statement reads. “GM continues to leverage every available semiconductor to build and ship our most popular and in-demand products, including our highly profitable full-size trucks and SUVs for our customers.
