you are bidding on a 57 chevy belair 4 door sedan, was most likely a 210 new, looks like it has been FIXED UP A COUPLE OF TIMES BUT NEVER RESTORED, this is a running driving car, it has 2 cracked side glasses with a replacement one for the passenger rear door. car looks pretty good from a distance but needs some body work. there is some rust in the bottom corners of two of the doors, it has had the outside rockers replaced but needs inners if you so desire, if going to be a driver car then i would not replace them. the front floor pans have been patched with flat metal, the rear floor pans are in good shape as is the trunk and spare tire well, the rear trunk tail pan has also been replaced, the bottom of the fenders have been repaired and have no issues of any problems coming back. the right rear quarter has been hit at one time in the last 55 years and bondo put in, it needs either redoing as it is turning loose or a small section replace in the quarter, does not appear to have any rust on either quarter, the right hood hinge needs replaced, car has a cheap shifter in the floor, enough said, car has a 1980 305 long block installed with low milage with NO leaks,, exhaust manifolds are also original to the 57. interior looks nice but again is driver only not a show car, headliner is in good condition but needs a little professional tighnening up and the area between the doors where headliner material is needs retacking and needs all windlace installed, there is none in the car, package tray is carpet and looks ok, stainless is all good except for three pieces that have had screws installed, ye haw, brakes work with a pull to the left but pedal is great, has recently replace brake hoses, beyond that i dont know, transmission works perfect with no leaks and the rear end is a 3.55 ratio with no humming or crying and no leaks, tires are fair wheels look nice, duel exhausts sounds quiet but mufflers are tired, front end checks out with no slack in ball joints or tie rod ends, bushings are cracked some but not gone or bad enough to replace if staying in a driver condition car, there is no heater blower motor or housing for blower motor but heater core is there and not leaking as it is hooked up. car still retains its original 57 radiator with the honeycomb core and does not leak or run hot at all. bumpers will need rechroming and there is an extra one for the front the original antenna is with the car also but the fool put the hole for it in the left fender instead of the right one. the head lights work and the tail lights also but no brake lights. no turn signals either. gauges work but no idiot lights working. if you should have any more questions i will answer them on email . since pics have been taken, chevy corvette rally rims have been installed

GM Design shows what could have been and what might be
Thu, May 27 2021We periodically like to check in with GM Design's Instagram account to see what they're cooking up. Even better is when we catch a glimpse of an alternate history of what legendary designers from The General's past were thinking, though those ideas may not have made it into production. This week, for example, the account posted some illustrations from George Camp, whose career at GM spanned nearly four decades, from 1963 to 2001. One of the renderings is of what appears to be a 1971-72 Pontiac GTO Judge, but with two headlights instead of the production unit's quad beams. The rear departs from the canonical version most dramatically, with a massive integrated wing. Other bits that didn't make the production cut include large side vents, a gill-like side marker and rectangular intakes below the headlights that wouldn't be out of place on a modern design today. Amazingly, from what we can make out of the date, it appears that the drawing was done sometime in 1965, which makes it quite prescient.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) There's also a very aerodynamic interpretation of a Corvette ZR-1. To our eyes it splits the difference between the 1986 Corvette Indy concept and a fourth-generation F-body Pontiac Firebird, so perhaps parts of Camp's work on this sketch did make it into physical form. There's also a radical sports car concept from May 1970 that resembles the Mazda RX-500 concept from the same year, a Syd Mead-looking Cadillac coupe, and an Oldsmobile with a cool take on the company's trademark waterfall grille and elements of the Colonnade Cutlass at the rear. Other recent posts include a FJ Cruiser-like off-road EV, a sleek coupe with the Chevy corporate grille, and a rendering of a Silverado-esque pickup that looks far better than the current production version.      View this post on Instagram            A post shared by GM Design (@generalmotorsdesign) It's pretty easy to lose hours in the account, but it's always fascinating to see GM's visions of what could have been and what might be. LG Chem's troubled Chevy Volt battery plant hiring once again
Thu, Sep 25 2014The Michigan battery plant known for paying its workers to do nothing has turned things around and is now hiring more workers, specifically to do something. South Korea-based LG Chem, which runs the factory to supply the Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in vehicle with its lithium-ion batteries, held a job fair recently to bring on 40 new employees in order to meet higher battery demand, according to WZZM, the ABC affiliate for Grand Rapids, MI. The LG Chem factory is in Holland, MI, about 30 miles west of Grand Rapids, and it made its first batteries last year. Prior to that, though, the factory gained notoriety after a US Department of Energy (DOE) probe found that workers there were getting paid to do, well, nothing. That's because demand for the battery packs was so low that it cost less for the plant to sit idle. The DOE was conducting the probe because of its financial grant to LG Chem. But that was then and today is today. LG Chem is looking to ramp up production in advance of the second-generation Volt. That 2016 model-year version is said to have a longer all-electric range and better performance and will ride on a new chassis, but few official details have surfaced. We will know more when we get our first look at the car at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
Stolen '79 Vette finds home at Dream Cruise [w/video]
Mon, Aug 17 2015After over three decades of waiting, George Talley finally has his 1979 Chevrolet Corvette back, and it's as good as new. The coupe was stolen off of a Detroit street in 1981, but last year Talley received a call that the 'Vette was found in Mississippi. General Motors Executive Vice President Mark Reuss heard the touching story and had the automaker help get the car back to the Motor City. Now after a restoration by the GM Heritage Center and Autometric Body Shop, Talley got the keys to his Corvette back during the Woodward Dream Cruise. When Autoblog spoke to him after the coupe was returned last year, Talley said that the first thing he wanted to do with it was, "I think I'm going to cruise Belle Isle." We hope he enjoys the drive because the experience is a long time coming. You can watch Talley's excited reaction to see his newly refurbished 'Vette for the first time in the video below. Stolen Corvette Reunion and Restoration on Display at Woodward Dream Cruise 2015-08-14 DETROIT – George Talley's 1979 Corvette was stolen 33 years ago and recovered last year in Mississippi. General Motors executives, who heard of the recovery, offered to bring the car back home to Mr. Talley and restore it on his behalf. The GM Heritage Center, in conjunction with Autometric Body Shop in Center Line, Mich., took on the restoration project. Talley got an opportunity to see the progress ahead of its official reveal at the Woodward Dream Cruise on Saturday.
