1954 Bel Air 210

This is a 1954 Bel Air 210 with a 235 6 cyl and a Powerglide Automatic transmission. This old coupe has been well taken care of and is a cool looking old cruiser. This car fires right up every time and hums like a sewing machine. It runs and drives beautifully. It has been converted to 12 volts. It has a new gas tank, new tires, and new headlight bucket assemblies with wiring harness. The car has been lowered 4" in the front by cutting the springs and 3" in the rear with lowering blocks.

The car was painted recently painted with a two tone powder blue and white paint job with lace panels sprayed on the roof to give it that old school hot rod look that both old timers and new car enthusiast can appreciate. The front portions of the rear quarter panels have been replaced. (the round humps where the gravel guards are). The chrome trim all around the car is in good condition except the rocker panel strips and the tail light bezels. Those can each be replaced for about $80. The gravel guards look good, but they have some scratches and dings (probably from doing their job). I spent a lot of time finding the right clips for the trim all over the car. The only clips I couldn't find were for the trim piece above the rear quarter window. Right now they are being held by trim tape. Its working well, but I want the new buyer to be aware of this. The front and rear emblems have been shaved. The chrome strip that goes down the center of the hood is brand new and gives the whole front of the car a smoother look. The rear quarters behind the rear tires have some body filler in them, but they weren't bad enough to warrant being replaced with a patch panel. You'd be hard pressed to find a 60 year old car now a days without any body filler for under $20k. This is a reasonably priced awesome old car that anyone could enjoy.

The interior is in GREAT shape. It has been reupholstered within the last 5-10 years. It has black carpeting and a dark navy blue seats and door panels. The trunk is overall solid with small pin holes and a nickel sized hole in the spare tire well. The whole trunk has been sprayed with a truck bed liner coating.

The wheels are the original steelies painted black with bullet lug nuts and new ribbed trim rings. One wheel stud on the rear axle needs to be replaced. The car comes with 2 new wheel cylinders, 3 new front brake lines and a new wheel bearing in case you need them in the future. Also included are a set of fender skirts painted to match the car. I didn't put them on because I don't have the clips needed to attach them.

The driver's door window has a small crack in the corner near the door lock, the passenger rear quarter window was shot with a BB gun and the passenger wing window has a small crack in it as well. The rest of the glass is in great shape to include the windshield and the rear window. The cracked glass does not impede any function or viewing. They're all flat pieces and can be easily replaced. The windshield wiper motor is still the original vacuum unit and it might work, but I don't know anything about them. I planned on picking up an electric one for a hundred bucks and being done with it.

The original tire jack and spare tire also come with the car. I have tried to be as honest as possible listing the good with the bad, but I know I am missing something. As I think of things I will add them as the auction goes on. With that being said please feel free to ask any and all questions. I will do my best to answer them as quickly as possible. Also if there are any specific pictures you would like to see just ask and I will get them out to you ASAP. I do have a clean and clear NC title for this car.

I have this vehicle for sale locally and reserve the right to end this auction early. Buyer is responsible for shipping. I will be available to help load. I am proud of my 100% feedback score and will do my best to keep it which is why I have written a 2 page description. Bid with confidence. Please ask any and all questions. Call or text 253-653-5146. Nissan Leaf sets new November sales record, Chevy Volt drops again

Tue, Dec 2 2014

When you talk to people in the plug-in vehicle industry, one theme you hear repeatedly is that the more plug-in cars that are out there, the better things are for everyone. One reason is that more EVs build a need for more public chargers, and more chargers mean more people see that plugging in is feasible. But there's still something to be said for old-fashioned competition, and in the sales race between the two long-running plug-in vehicles in the US, the Nissan Leaf is resoundingly beating the Chevy Volt for 2014. In fact, it won't be long before the EV's cumulative sales top the PHEV's. But that's a topic for another month. For now, we have the sales results from November. Unsurprisingly, Nissan set another monthly record (that is, the best Leaf sales in any November, the 22nd time in a row we've seen a monthly record) with 2,687 sales last month. That's up 34 percent over last November and up 35 percent year-to-date. Toby Perry, Nissan's director of electric vehicle marketing, said in a statement that, "Our 'Kick Gas' ad campaign and 'No Charge to Charge' launch in Chicago and Atlanta drove an increase in November Leaf sales. Even with gas prices falling across the country, consumers appreciate that the cost of driving a Nissan Leaf is still a fraction of that of a gas-powered car." Over on the Chevy side of the ledger, there were 1,336 Volt sales last month, down 30.4 percent from the 1,920 sold in November 2013. So far this year, Volt sales are down 16.4 percent and Chevy has sold 17,315 Volts in 2014. As we said last month, the Volt slump might be due to people waiting on the new version to make an appearance at the Detroit Auto Show next month before going on sale in the second half of 2015. So far in 2014, Nissan has sold 27,098 Leafs. Look for our detailed post of US green car sales in the near future. Until then, please discuss last month's Leaf and Volt sale in the comments, below. Sunday Drive: From a mid-engine 'Vette to a restomod RV

Sun, Jan 7 2018

Automotive enthusiasts are a diverse bunch. As proof, we present last week's top posts on Autoblog, starting with some really good spy photos of the upcoming mid-engine Chevrolet Corvette. Will it be sold alongside a classic front-engine 'Vette? We have no idea, but we can't wait to find out. Up next is a pickup truck. Can't get much further from a supercar, right? At least both the Corvette and the 2019 Ram 1500 – which will debut a radical new design that appears to eschew the mini big-rig look of past Rams in favor of something more refined – are both American. Decidedly not American? The Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV. The boxy off-road 'ute looks a heck of a lot like the old one, which is probably a good thing, but we know it'll be fancier and more luxurious than ever before. Check out the leaked images below. Also hailing from Germany, but sharing absolutely nothing else in common at all, is the Audi A4 Allroad. We've been driving this all-wheel-drive wagon for a while now, and we like it quite a bit. And, last but not least, is a 1959 bus that's been converted into an RV. Like we said, y'all certainly are a diverse bunch. We really want to use an eCrate to restomod an old GM car. Here's what we'd build

Fri, Oct 30 2020

You hopefully saw the news today of GM's introduction of its Connect and Cruise eCrate motor and battery package, which effectively makes the Bolt's electric motor, battery pack and myriad other elements available to, ah, bolt into a different vehicle. It's the same concept as installing a gasoline-powered crate motor into a classic car, but with electricity and stuff.  This, of course, got us thinking about what we'd stuff the eCrate into. Before we got too ahead of ourselves, however, we discovered that the eCrate battery pack is literally the Bolt EV pack in not only capacity but size and shape. In other words, you need to have enough space in the vehicle to place and/or stuff roughly 60% of a Chevy Bolt's length. It's not a big car, but that's still an awful lot of real estate. There's a reason GM chose to simply plop the pack into the bed and cargo area of old full-size SUVs. Well that, and having a rear suspension beefy enough to handle about 1,000 pounds of batteries.  So after that buzz kill, we still wanted to peruse the GM back catalog for classics we'd love to see transformed into an electric restomod that might be able to swallow all that battery ... maybe ... possibly ... whatever, saws and blow torches exist for a reason.  1971 Buick Riviera Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski: If you’re going to build an electric conversion, why not do it with style? ThatÂ’s why IÂ’m choosing a 1971-1973 Buick Riviera. You know, the one with the big glass boat-tail rear end that ends in a pointy V. Being a rather large vehicle with a big sloping fastback shape, IÂ’m hoping thereÂ’s enough room in the trunk and back seat to pack in the requisite battery pack. That would likely require cutting away some of the metal bulkhead that supports the rear seatback, but not so much that a wee bit of structural bracing couldnÂ’t shore things up. The big 455-cubic-inch Buick V8 up front will obviously have to go. Remember, this was the 1970s, so despite all that displacement, the Riviera only had around 250 horsepower (depending on the year and the trim level). So the electric motorÂ’s 200 horsepower and 266 pound-feet of torque ought to work as an acceptable replacement.   1982 Chevrolet S10 Associate Editor Byron Hurd: OK, so the name "E-10" is already taken by a completely different truck, but let's not let labels get in the way of a fun idea.
