Don't let the mileage scare you away. It runs and drives great! The automatic transmission was rebuilt within the last 5,000 miles by a transmission shop (I didn't just put in a junk yard tranny, they actually rebuilt it and replaced the junk GM part that constantly fails with a high quality after market one). The engine runs without any problems and there are no check engine lights on. The previous owner says he replaced the engine with one that had 60,000 miles on it around 140,000 so according to them the engine has around 110,000 miles on it (but I don't have any documentation for that). Either way, I would trust the engine to go cross country right now without any concerns or worries. I use it as a back up vehicle for work and my normal daily commute is about 2-3 hours each way. In the last month I've put about 800 miles on it and I'm not afraid to take it on the long trips. That being said, the mileage may be a little higher once you come to pick it up because I do drive it once every week or two while I put my van in the shop for an oil change or brakes or whatever (like I said, I average about 1,500 miles per week so my van has to go in on a regular basis). The oil was changed on the Avalanche about 600 miles ago and I always have them use good oil and the lucas additive. The radio and cd player work fine. The power windows work but the front passenger side window is slow going up and one time it actually got stuck half up so I don't use it any more (but it's not a problem because the ac blows cold and the heat blows hot). There is a crack in the driver's side mirror but you can still see out of it fine and it's not so bad that it's trying to fall off or anything like that. There are two small chips in the windshield that are both smaller than a dime. They are both on the passenger side so they don't affect the inspection or the driver's view. The cruise control stopped working but it does have it. I haven't looked into it so I don't know if it's just a fuse or what it is (I'm not a mechanic so I don't know how to trouble shoot it and I don't drive it often enough to justify paying a mechanic to look at it). The tires are in okay condition but will probably need to be replaced in the next 10-15,000 miles or so. The body is probably an 8 out of 10. The plastic moulding has a couple small bumps and bruises (as you can see in the picture but are in pretty good shape over all). The only spot of rust I have seen is on the passenger rear wheel well (You can see it in the picture). It is just starting to come out. As long as you fix it before next winter it won't be a problem at all. I would sand it down and spray paint it myself but the color matched paints from the auto parts store are never quite right so I would take it to an actual pain shop and pay the $100 to have them do it with the right paints (just my opinion). There are no rips or tears in the seats. The dash is in great shape. It goes in and out of four wheel drive with the push of a button. I only have smaller trailers (5'x8') but the Avalanche is rated to pull 8,100 pounds. Over all this is a great running vehicle and since I'm listing it as a no reserve auction it's up to you how much you want to pay for it. According to the websites it's worth close to $6-8k but I'm not greedy and I know it has higher miles. If you're interested in a buy it now price email me an offer and if I like it I'll add the buy it now price to the auction for you (but be realistic, I'm not going to accept $2500 or anything close to it, just the transmission was $1600).

Pure Vision Design TT Camaro has 1,400 reasons to want it
Wed, 06 Nov 2013We've talked about Pure Vision Design before, a California-based company that made waves at last year's SEMA show with its Martini-liveried, Indy-car-powered Ford Mustang. That same car later starred in a Petrolicious video we showed you just a few weeks back. The company's latest creation is a menacing car it calls the Pure Vision Design TT Camaro. Based on a 1972 model, this car shares the Martini Mustang's clean styling and obsession with details.
Unlike the Mustang, which draws its power from a mid-60s Lotus-Ford Indycar engine, the "TT" in this Camaro's name implies something far more potent. The Nelson Racing Engines 427-cubic-inch V8 has been fitted with a pair of turbochargers, with a claimed output of 1,400 horsepower. That's almost 1,000 more than the Martini Mustang.
A six-speed Magnum transmission dispatches that power to the ground, while Pirelli PZero tires are tasked with (somehow) trying to grip the road. Baer brakes hide behind those HRE rims, while JRI coilovers and HyperTech springs bless the Camaro with some degree of competency in the bends.
Our favorite mid-engine Corvette theories and rumors
Tue, Sep 13 2016The mid-engine Corvette! We just saw blurry photos through the foliage, and are hearts are all aflutter because it means that this car is real. And it's the most " never before" Corvette since 1984. Which leads us to all kinds of wacky theories and speculation. Everybody knows something or heard from a guy. None of those guys (or gals) from GM are talking to Autoblog, to be clear. But that won't stop us from stirring the pot. Let's go over a few point-by-point. The pushrod engine will be replaced by an overhead-cam V8 Car and Driver has repeatedly reported that an overhead-cam engine will come after the mid-engine Corvette's debut with an old-school pushrod. We've heard the same thing firsthand, albeit from a source with no connection to the development of the Corvette or powertrain. "At some point two valves can't pass future emissions regulations," said the guy we know. While the pushrod engine is compact, the design makes it difficult - if not impossible - for sophisticated variable valve timing (and lift) systems that control combustion with more precision. Hasty conclusion: The pushrod engine has a finite life in front of it. This one's a lock, it's a just a matter of when. Bowling Green's new paint shop is really the mid-engine assembly line Credit to Reddit for this one. Like we said, everybody knows a guy. But let's look deeper. The new paint facility costs $439 million dollars and adds 450,000 square feet, almost half the size of the existing plant. Plus GM announced another $290 million in upgrades at Bowling Green Assembly. That sure sounds like a lot of money, but you can actually spend that much on a paint booth. Porsche spent 500 million Euros (about $561 million dollars) to add the Macan assembly to its Leipzig, Germany plant in 2014. Chrysler shelled out $850 million for a paint shop in Sterling Heights, Michigan. GM spent $600 million for a new paint shop at the Fairfax (Kansas City) plant. Honda, on the other hand, is working on a thrifty $210 million project in Marysville, Ohio that includes a 300,000 square foot expansion, and the low-volume Acura NSX facility only cost $70 million. Hasty conclusion: The square footage and cost could easily mean a new assembly line instead of (or in addition to) a paint line. And if the NSX plant was really that cheap, GM could have hidden a similar sum in its existing announcements.
GM, Pilot will build EVgo fast chargers at 500 truck stops across U.S.
Thu, Jul 14 2022All of our maps showing electric vehicle charging stations across the U.S. are going to need an update. Today, General Motors, Pilot and EVgo announced plans to work together on a nationwide DC fast charging network. The plan calls for 2,000 charging stalls that can deliver up to 350 kW to be installed at up to 500 Pilot and Flying J travel centers in the U.S. The goal is to have DC fast chargers available in 50-mile intervals across the country. The new charging stations will feature GM's "Ultium Charge 360" branding and "Pilot Flying J" logos but will not be limited to drivers of GM EVs. The plugs will use CCS connectors and be available to anyone. GM EV owners can take advantage of benefits, including the ability to make exclusive reservations, get discounts on charging costs and streamline the charging process with Plug and Charge and in-vehicle apps that can provide real-time charger availability. The first installation phase will take place in 2023, and "the bulk of the installations" should be completed by 2025, EVgo CEO Kathy Zoi said during a conference call with reporters announcing the plan. "We're gonna get going immediately and commence all of that engineering and planning stuff," she said. "We've got a pretty orderly plan." Pilot CEO Shameek Konar said the company expects the new EV charging stations to coexist with the current fuel infrastructure. "An average Pilot Flying J location is about 10 acres," Konar said. "This will be in addition to all of our gas pumps. The way I think about it is, this is a new source of energy that is going to coexist with gas for quite some time. We can debate how long, but we need to serve both groups of customers." Installing DC fast chargers at hundreds of Pilot's travel centers — aka truck stops — means there should be food, drinks, restrooms, WiFi and even showers available while you wait for an EV to charge. Pilot recently announced its “New Horizons” plan that will invest $1 billion in upgrading Pilot travel centers with more premium amenities, including expanded seating and lounge areas. While the exact amount of time it will take to charge an EV using these new stations will vary on the EV and its current state of charge, most EVs can refill from a low state of charge to around 80 percent in 20-30 minutes on a fast charger. The new stations are future-proofed to deliver up to 350 kW, a charge rate that few EVs today can handle.
