MotoeXotica Classic Cars is thrilled to offer this absolutely spectacular 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback GT500! If you’re an automotive movie buff, you’re more than likely very familiar with the 2000 summer blockbuster “Gone in 60 Seconds,” that earned Eleanor the honor as the only Ford Mustang in history to receive star title credit in a movie. Eleanor was even cited in Hot Rod magazine as “one of the 100 most influential vehicles of hot rodding, as it commanded non-car people’s attention and inspirited the building of numerous replicas.” Within the last year, one of the Eleanor’s from the movie was sold at Mecum for $1 million!

This particular Eleanor arose into the ravishing car you see today by means of a completely rotisserie restoration and included is CDs full of photos from the entire restoration. Not a single detail or expense was overlooked in the construction of this GT500E that is completely out of this world! The body of the car is in impeccable shape and we are hard pressed to find imperfections! The car has been painted with a custom, specialized coded Fleetwood Mipa gray paint with painted black stripes, which is the original color from the movie, with a customized additive). The paint looks absolutely incredible in person – it has a perfect sparkle from every angle while looking sinister and BAD TO THE BONE! The color changes from gunmetal gray, to a greenish tint and even with some purple at times but ever so minutely depending on the sunlight and cloud cover. There are brake vents on the side of the car that go directly to the rear brakes, cooling them as needed. The upper louvers on the rear of the car are also functional while bringing air into the inside of the car. There is nothing on this car that is fake or non-functional.

The body and drive train are protected by a subframe connector which actually goes around the transmission and driveshaft universal joints. Having this done, the car is much more safe and rigid. There are also rear traction bars to minimize any slippage. A stabilization torque box has been added and welded to the passenger side for rigidity, matching the one on the left side. These were unibody cars in with a big block FE engine and sometimes the torque would twist the body; not with this one that has added reinforcement!

The underside of Eleanor is a thing of beauty. The undercarriage is METICUOUSLY detailed! It is absolutely spectacular and it may actually be clean enough to eat off of! As mentioned, there was high attention to detail and not a single expense was spared during the restoration of this outstanding GT500E!!!

The interior of Eleanor is just as awesome as the exterior. The hi-back seats are from SCAT and are very comfy. Of course, the entire interior is brand new, so it goes without saying that there are no signs of wear or tear on anything. The passenger seat has been lowered to accommodate more headroom. The plush, not looped carpet has been upgraded and is protected with NASA sound and heat deadening insulation. The headliner is completely flawless and there is an overhead console, complete with map lights. The dashboard is stunningly beautiful and houses a set of classic white face gauges and an Alpine headunit. As you can see, the passenger side of the dashboard has been signed by the late catalyst and creator of Shelby Mustangs, Mr. Carroll Shelby himself. Along with the signature, there is a letter of authenticity for verification. The interior of the car has been caged with a roll bar that has been welded and secured to the bottom, sides and top of the car. This is extremely substantial in stabilizing any torque the car may have – and it has plenty. The car has been equipped with Classic Air Conditioning and it shines under the hood as it is finished in billet. The AC is connected with the original levers where everything, including the vents, is out of sight and creating a very clean look. There are also power door locks and an automatic trunk release but there is also a lever for the trunk release between the door panel and the seat on the driver’s side, as well as a shaver door cable under the left rear bumper, in case you might get locked out leading to the trunk. The inside of this GT500E is just as attractive as the exterior!

This spectacular car is powered by the legendary and iconic 428 cubic inch Cobra Jet V8. The engine was professionally built by Jesse Stafford out of North Carolina. The engine has been bored 30 over with hydraulic lifters, a moderate to radical camshaft and 11-11.5:1 compression. It has an aluminum intake with a four barrel double pumper 750cc Holley with the Cobra black/stainless steel air intake and valve covers. The Mustang GT500E remains cool by means of a stage 4 Griffin aluminum radiator with twin SPAL dual curved blade fan, encased in brushed aluminum. Ford FE big blocks have a tendency to run warmer so it is beneficial to have the aluminum SPAL closed cooling system with billet overflow container. It also has Shelby Cobra engraving on the radiator, valve covers and gas tank encompassed with boss rivets.

As you may see in the photos, the 428 is equipped with fully functional ZEX Nitrous. The bottle has never been filled or implemented as the car has just over 1,600 miles on it. The chrome tank for the nitrous system is in the trunk of the car, along with two dual high amplifiers and multiple speakers. The “Go, Baby Go” switch is on a Hurst T shifter. The aluminum inlaid console has the nitrous switch on it, right beside another switch which controls the windshield reservoir (which is also in the trunk, due to the size of the massive Cobra Jet powerhouse!). The entire engine bay has been stabilized with chrome crossbars.

The engine breathes through means of custom made ceramic headers by Stan’s headers. The complete exhaust system is absolutely incredible, looks beautiful and the Mustang has an awesome rumble. The exhaust has electric cutout dumps. All you have to do is just touch the electronic button on the console and you can automatically open and close the exhaust from the dumps to the side exhaust. This car has a deep, loud and powerful rumble anyway which exits to each side just in front of the rear wheels from the custom made mufflers exiting through the billet oval shaped tips.

Mated to the engine is a Keisler Tremec 5-speed manual transmission with a hydraulic clutch and Keisler balanced driveshaft. The transmission is shifted through a Hurst T shifter that looks great! Beneath the car, you’ll find a hardy Ford 9” positive trac rear end, complete with 3.56 gears and 31 spline racing axles that have been tempered and hardened. The front end is a Gateway Classic Mustang RSI with independent suspension and the rear of the car has brand new Gabriel rear air shocks. High end Wilwood Racing power drilled disc brakes have been installed all the way around from optimum stopping power. Only the best steering has been installed in this Mustang as well; the rack and pinion steering is from Randall’s Rack, which uses state of the art technology and is extremely sensitive and versatile.

Any electrical harness is extremely important to a car and Eleanor is no different. The car is protected by a multitude of fuses, with easy access on the driver’s side engine bay. A Pertonix ignition system has been installed, as well as a High Torque Mini Racing Ford Gear Reduction Starter that is absolutely phenomenal. It turns this high-performance 428 engine over easily and quickly. It also has a brand new Optima Yellow Top battery with a custom billet cover, helping retain a very clean appearance under the hood. There has been a keyed kill switch installed right beside the battery for security purposes. This safety accessory has two keys. The entire wiring harness to the car is, of course, brand new. Many Eleanors do not have front turn signals – this beauty does! Not only does it have front turn signals, but it also has PIAA lights with covers in the front center, halogen lights on each side and the iconic Mustang sequential tail lights.

Deviation from the original Eleanor; signed dashplate from Mr. Carroll Shelby, white gauges, not the black and white checkered bucket seats, FE 428 Cobra Jet, the Shelby Cobra gunmetal gray powdercoated wheels, the Hurst T shifter with the “Go Baby, Go” on the side versus the round knob shifter, the inlaid aluminum and leather full console, electric cut outs/dumps right behind the headers and reinforced unibody frame. This is all just to mention a few upgrades and variations.

This absolutely brilliant 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback GT500E “Eleanor” is truly one of a kind. We dare you to find one that is as stunning and incredible as this one. This car would make an excellent centerpiece to any collection, a phenomenal show car or even just a sensational cruiser. Bid with confidence that this Mustang is everything that you’ve dreamed of and more! This car comes with tons of records, photos and extras! The VIN is 7R02S101081 and the mileage currently shows 1,642. It is being sold on a clean and clear Missouri title, titled as a 1967 Ford. Also included is the Oklahoma title from February of 1982! GET OUT AND DRIVE!!!
