 Description

1967 Karmann Ghia

Older restoration on a Texas car

Drives very nicely, 1600 Engine, 12 volt

Here is a Very Nice Condition 1967 Ghia Coupe It was originally a Texas car, and was restored 10 years ago, with new floors and new paint, new interior, and a rebuilt 1973 1600 engine. It has no bad habits on the road, and is ready for your enjoyment now!

Rust free early ’67 Ghias are getting harder to find. Our reserve is set at a level that represents an excellent value. Please contact me at:  hometownclassiccars@yahoo.com with questions, or call  610-350-8594.

Body and Frame:

-No accident damage anywhere. All of the original body sheet metal.

- New full floors professionally restored, pinch welds are factory and excellent.

-Outer rockers had some very small perforations repaired with plastic.

-Center member, jack points, fenders, shock mounts, rocker panels are all rust free. No rust on frame or floors, a totally solid car.

-Door seams are very straight, and doors close easily and tight.

-Car was repainted about 10 years ago, and is showing its age. Please don’t buy the car and complain about the paint. It has two blister areas on the front, the whole trunk lid is blistered, and there are some 4 small scratches on the roof. I put up pictures of all this. Also, the rear apron has  faded blemish marks where a car cover must have stuck to the car (does not show on the pics). Please call if you have questions.

-A few other tiny chips consistent with a driven car, touched up.

-All trim is in good condition, especially the 12 lower trim strips which are in excellent condition.

-All glass is excellent, and a new windshield. Windows go up and down smoothly.

Mechanical:

-Car drives very well, very solid feel, goes down the road straight, brakes work fine. At 65 mph, no shakes in wheel, just planted to the road.

-This car is very good handler for an old VW, very confident on the road.

-Re-built 1973 1600 engine, starts and runs smoothly. idles at 700 rpm, revs smoothly to redline. Engine code AK126259.

-Clutch and 4-speed shift smoothly, syncros feel very good.

-Tires are newer radials with full tread.

-Dash gauges all work fine, even the clock

-Lights and wipers work fine.

Interior:

-Interior was replaced, seats, very comfortable, carpets, dash pad.

-Door panels were just done, the last owner cleaned up the inner doors and rust proofed them, and put in new plastic barrier.

-New Front windshield glass, and new window gaskets front and rear.

- Door gaskets ok, I will include a new set for you.

-Trunk has original spare tire, wrench, and jack. No rust in trunk, just nice original red paint.
