    Description

    1977 Chevy Monte Carlo / Showroom Condition / 17k documented miles / time capsule / factory rims / factory A/C / stunning!

You are viewing a gorgeous 1977 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Landau.  It was originally purchased by a postmaster near Philipsburg, PA.  It has 16,989 ORIGINAL and DOCUMENTED miles and has been pampered since new (although the mileage will be slightly higher by end of auction since I occasionally drive it).  The car has been kept in a climate controlled garage.  I have the original owner's manuals.  Everything about the car, right down to the stitching in the vinyl top, is in beautiful shape. She is dressed with the genuine Monte Carlo rims (not hubcaps), and has several options, including AM-FM radio, cruise control, A/C, factory floor mats, and limited slip rear axle.  Overall the car is immaculate.  The title is clear and has no liens.  The title documents the original mileage.  This is an extremely comfortable car, and the last year for the colonnade styling.  This is equipped with the tried-and-true reliable (and economical) 5.0 liter (305) Chevy engine.  The car runs and drives beautifully and I’m sure it would go across country effortlessly.

    Exterior:

The original paint is a beautiful Medium Green metallic with matching vinyl padded top.  The paint is immaculate and reflects the fact it was garage kept – it appears to be all original.  It is absolutely gorgeous – no fading, checking, or significant scratches of any kind.  I should note there is a small door ding in the driver’s side front fender, and also one small door ding in the passenger side front fender, but neither are readily noticeable in the pictures.  The chrome shines brilliantly.  The original vinyl top is also like brand new and has no rips, tears or fading.  The factory rims are beautiful.  I am unsure but the tires appear to be original – however the prior owner thought they may have been replaced years ago.  If they are not original they are very similar to the original tires and are period correct.  The spare tire matches and even has the stickers still on the tread.  The tires appear to be in decent shape for the age, and the car rides well.  The exterior is absolutely gorgeous and is obvious of the care it has received.  The underbody is in amazing shape, and has absolutely NO RUST underneath – the underneath is nice enough you could put mirrors underneath for car shows.  There is no rust anywhere on this car….not even under the doors or trunk lid.

    Interior:

The interior is stunning, which feel, look, and smell brand new.….and there are NO air fresheners needed in this car!  The vinyl is soft and supple and not cracked.   It was obviously NEVER smoked in.  Cigarette lighters were never used.  There are no rips, stains or holes.  The original floor mats are like new and have preserved the carpets well.  The headliner, sun visors, and sail panels are spotless and do NOT sag.  The dash is beautiful.  Arm rests on the doors are like new….no cracks, etc.  The stitching in the seats are like brand new.  The cruise control and A/C work well, except for some reason the blower fan only works on “High” speed.  When you sit in this car you feel like you’re in a new car in 1977!

    Mechanical:

The motor purrs like a kitten and is extremely smooth.  As mentioned earlier, the motor is the old school Chevy 305 engine which was both economical and reliable.  The transmission shifts smooth and the fluid is still red.  I have driven the car about 100 miles since I acquired it, without issue.  It is inspected through July 2014.  I also had my mechanic inspect the car 2 weeks ago and he said everything appears to be in good working order and should pass the next PA state inspection with flying colors.  I believe the belts and hoses are ORIGINAL and appear to be in good shape.  A/C still works and it has been converted over to the R-134, which makes for economical servicing.  The car does not have any leaks to speak of.  The car drives like a new car from 1977!  The steering and suspension are tight, and brakes are silk smooth. The original exhaust was recently replaced with a new muffler and tailpipe and purrs like a Chevy engine should.  This baby runs beautifully and is ready for show!

    Overall:

If you are looking for a spectacular example of the last of the colonnade styled Monte Carlo, this one’s for you.  The car is gorgeous and gets lots of compliments.  I have yet to see another Monte Carlo just like it.  This car is so nice, that most people selling on eBay might say the car is “perfect” or “flawless”.  The average person may describe it as such-- but for a car collector, there’s never anything 100% perfect unless it was restored.  As such, this car was never restored and has almost 17,000 miles and may have some trivial flaws, but this car is 99% in my opinion.  I have sold numerous cars on eBay and in all situations I had positive feedback.  I attempt to describe each vehicle as accurately and honestly as possible and I do not think you will be disappointed.  As with anything, if you desire to bid on the vehicle, I would encourage you to see it physically and drive it for yourself before you bid.   I would not be afraid to drive this car across the country.  It runs and drives excellent and will make a very nice classic for you.   If you get the winning bid and are not completely satisfied upon your physical inspection, you can walk away from the vehicle, less $125 of your deposit (to pay for the cost of having to relist on eBay).
