Vehicle Description

Classic Car Fusion is offering this immaculate numbers matching incredibly original 1969 Camaro Z/28 in stunning Hugger Orange. Designed from the factory to compete in the notoriously competitive SCCA Trans-Am series, the solid-lifter 302-cid V-8 with a monstrous 850-cfm four-barrel carb was a Z/28 exclusive. It’s road-racing roots are evident in the peaky engine and the undisputable fact that the Z/28 suspension package made it one of the best-handling cars of the muscle car era.

With a single repaint in it’s extremely well cared for life, this gorgeous original California black plate Camaro was an early build which included a flat hood and rear fold down seats. Two things you don't often see on z28's.  Under the hood an original emissions compliant Air Injector Reactor system reduces exhaust and crankcase emissions to meet 1969 California and federal air pollution emission standards.

This Z/28 comes with the original body broadcast copy and original Protecto Plate with dealer paper work. After adding $458 to the $2,726 base price of a Camaro coupe in 1969, this RPO Z/28 includes the F41 handling suspension with E70X15 raised-letter tires on seven-inch wide wheels, quicker steering, twin rally stripes and front disc brakes. The high revving race ready solid-lifter 302 with a 850-cfm four-barrel carburetor is exclusive to the Z/28, and backed by a close-ratio Muncie four-speed manual transmission with a Hurst shifter, sends plenty of power to the wheels through a 12 bolt rear end with 3.73:1 gears.

Good enough for 14.8 seconds at 101 mph in the quarter mile, the Z/28 was a road-racer first, and a street car second. Yet it’s racing pedigree and excellent handling ensured that 7,199 Z/28s were sold in 1968, and sales nearly tripled for the 1969 Camaro Z/28.

With the highly sought after single year styling, race proven engine and handling, and iconic color this 1969 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is arguably the most desirable Z/28 of all. It is impossible to find an original 69 z/28 this clean with a complete matching numbers drivetrain, california black plates, two owner history, 84k original miles, protecto plate and broadcast sheet. To go along with the original interior and exterior color,  and fold down rear seats This to say the least is a pretty special 69 Z/28.   This is your chance to own a piece of automotive and motorsport heritage. The front seats have just been restored. All new springs, foam, and covers. This is one of the cleanest original z/28's you will ever find and with all the documentation to back it up.
