Up for
auction is this stunning 718 Spyder recreation. This 2013 Boxster has been
visually updated to resemble the look of a 2023 718 Spyder right down to the
factory installed wheels.
I purchased
this Boxster in August 2020 from a local dealer and enjoyed driving it around
for about a year in its stock configuration. Being a long time Porsche fanatic
who's built and modified many Porsche race cars and street cars over the past
35 years I decided to give this Boxster a face lift.
It all
started in 2021 when I purchased the factory body components from Porsche via
my local dealers parts department. One year later I completed the project.
Because there were subtle differences between the 2023 and the 2013 fender
lines I had to make some minor adjustments to the front and rear bumpers. These
visual differences are so minor that one really can't pick them up, hence the
finished product you see here is 99% spot on.
The primary difference
between the factory production version and this car is the convertible top.
While the factory car has a manual top (which is somewhat cumbersome) this car
retains the automatic electric top. This was made possible by my designing a
two-piece tonneau cover hard deck that covers the convertible top. This spilt two-piece
design allows for the cover to be stored in the front trunk area if the top
needs to be raised if encountering changing weather conditions.
Every
attention to detail was given to this project to ensure the outcome would be a
stunning visual experience right down to the factory GT-4/Spyder design wheels.
In addition to the body and wheel updates the exhaust was reworked to install
dual outlets and improve the sound resulting in the perfect exhaust note and
crackle when engaging those crisp PDK upshifts and down shifts.
The car is
100% mechanically stock and is in perfect running and driving condition. This
is your chance to own a fantastic Porsche 718 Spyder recreation at a fraction
of the cost of an original. This car turns head every time its on the road or
local Cars and Coffee meet ups. This car is so well done that owners of a
factory Spyder cannot believe this car started life as a Boxster.
If you're
like me and love the look of the 718 Spyder but don't want to spend the $140K for the real thing, this is as close as you can get. This car is one of only four that have been built, no others will be made. Don't miss your chance to
own it!
Clean Title car with absolutely no issues ready to drive. Just passed smog and ready to go to it's new owner.
