1989 Buick Electra Park Avenue was a car which was both luxurious and economical, as well as bulletproof. The drivetrain in this became legendary for both reliability and longevity, while still being extremely fuel efficient. The interior is absolutely top trim, and certain features of the interior feel like a limousene. At this mileage, there are many years of very comfortable travel left in this car. It started life in Tennessee, and while there is some rust, it is not structural, and could be repaired.
Sadly, this car has been neglected, and will need the steel lines replaced to be operable again. It was parked for a long time because the fuel line developed a pinhole leak, and the college student who was driving it wasn't willing to repair it. While it sat, the other lines rusted out. I bought it to try to rescue it, but have not had time, and don't expect to find it any time soon. This car deserves better than to sit. It should go to someone who will mmake the simple repairs and use it.
I have already replaced most of the brake lines with never rust expensive stuff. I didn't bleed them, but they do pump up and hold. The battery is junk, but I connected external power, and the engine cranked evenly, and the fuel pump ran. I have no doubt that this is still a fairly easy repair. I simply don't have the time or energy. There are a few body items, like an exhaust hanger, and the fuel door hinge, which have also succumbed to rust, and will need to be replaced. The trunk key lock is stuck.
As this cannot be driven, it will have to be towed. I can deliver it a reasonable distance from Northern Michigan for an additional fee. Inspections are welcomed, but need to be done before the auction ends.
