Reimel Motor Cars is proud to offer this 1999 Excelsior-Henderson Super-X with 9,000 miles. Finished in Black with Red pinstriping and a Black leather seat.

The first 100 Excelsior-Henderson motorcycles were designed and built in Belle Plain, Minnesota, to compete with Harley Davidson. These bikes were allocated to early investors who had bought many pre-production shares. This specific bike, serial number 61, is one of about 1,700 built during the two-year production run. However, it was never assembled or delivered to the early investor. Instead, it was purchased new by the current owner from an authorized Excelsior-Henderson dealer in 1999. The bike came with every accessory available at the time, including a windshield, soft saddle bags, and driving lights. The owner has all promotional material, a copy of the certificate of origin, complete service records, keys, books, accessories, and spare parts. The rare service manual that was unfortunately never completed before the company folded is also included. Even the door of the shipping crate is included, which still bears the signatures of most of the Excelsior-Henderson staff at the time.

Jamie rebuilt the engine and improved the shifting of the 5-speed transmission by blueprinting the rotating components of the transmission and crankcase and installing premium parts. In addition, he has replaced the problematic wiring harness, updated the ECU with the latest software, and replaced the fuel tank, pump, and pressure regulator. The head has been blueprinted, the air filter has been replaced with a better design, and the intake manifold has been polished to produce a minimum of 73 hp. The bike also has wide white wall tube tires and a supplemental oil cooler installed around 2005. Recently, the bike has undergone an oil change, brake signal switch replacement, and new battery installation. With all the improvements made by Jamie over the years, the bike runs perfectly and undoubtedly rides and drives better than it did when it was new.

Jamie or Librandis Plating in Harrisburg, PA, have re-chromed or replaced many parts around 2005. Although early production Super X bikes were often two-tone, this is a rare black-on-black example. It is believed that the individual parts manufacturer painted the fuel tanks and fenders and not Excelsior-Henderson, so solid-color bikes often had slightly different colors on these three components. To correct this minor variation in component color, the new tank (after properly coating the inside with a red coat) and fenders were expertly painted to the original black with factory-correct red pinstripes in 2005. The result is spectacular, with many show-quality chrome parts and glossy, clear-coated, deep black paint.

The original motorcycle enthusiast owner is the bike's only rider, and S/N 61 has accumulated just 9600 miles over the past 24 years. The bike has always been regularly maintained with synthetic oil changes. This 1999 Excelsior-Henderson Super-X Serial Number 61 is in excellent condition, needs nothing, and can be ridden immediately.
