Please note that experience shows us that the photobucket of over 100 large pixel pictures posted here are in most cases best viewed and downloaded using the very latest and most updated version of the 'Firefox' browser as some other browsers and especially older browser versions are not capable of accommodating the size of the download. Over the years our clients have overwhelmingly been appreciative of our many unaltered large pixel photos posted in our ads and our feedback has been that it is very rare that a dealer will post all but the most flattering of professionally finished photographs. We prefer to post the many photos taken of the car, in sometimes unflattering but natural sunlight, in order for our prospective buyers to be able to see true and reliable images of the car advertised and that is the reason for some seemingly duplicated shots. We trust you will agree.

Luxury at its finest.

Only 8,095 of these cars were made with the rag top costing over $3,000 in 1949 and they are extremely rare and collectible finds today!

The matching Black Power Soft Top with red Piping is also in wonderful condition with only a couple of very minor signs of wear at the stress points (see photos below). All the restored chromework is also in very beautiful condition with no pitting and the original spare wheel is in the trunk. The original 320 cid 150HP inline 8 cylinder engine (#55056057 - a correct sequence number for the Super Series 70 engine of 1949) is extremely strong and powerful and this particular car drives magnificently - must be driven to be believed - drives straight as an arrow with no strange road wobbles, shakes or rattles - a truly remarkable daily driver that will give any modern day car a run for it's money!

The 1949 Buick Roadmaster Convertible Coupe boasts a milestone designation for this model and is a serious collector car known for its high quality build, leather interior, bright color schemes and of course its clean streamlined and beautiful styling! Amongst the first all new GM postwar cars to be introduced was this new C body line with leaner and trimmer looking characteristics than before but still boasting the classic Buick waterfall grille bars set under an over arching grille bar. Another styling feature that would become a Buick trademark began this year too with the portholes or 'Ventiports' as Buick named them in later years. Supers got three on each side whilst the top-of-the-line Roadmaster distinguished itself with four on each side! This aircraft inspired design theme was successfully employed by Harvey Earl and Ned Nickles in their pursuit of the ideal automobile! The Roadmaster rode upon a long 126" wheelbase and was offered in 5 bodystyles, the sedan, the fastback sedanette, the coupe, the station wagon and of course the legendary and top-of-the-line Convertible Coupe!

This is a rare opportunity to own a great daily driving and restored as necessary over the years example of a never abused and oozing pride of ownership of an obviously always garaged and rust free 1949 Buick Roadmaster Convertible Coupe in simply superb condition throughout! This is one very rare and highly desirable and collectible unabused example of one of the most rare and outstanding designs of the late forties and early fifties, these high quality luxury cars were built to be able to complete long distances both quickly, powered by Buick's large 320 cid inline 8 cylinder engine matched to the legendary Dynaflow Drive automatic transmission for the ultimate drive and in the utmost of luxury! We doubt that few finer examples exist anywhere.

This is one very desirable car for any classic American car collector or obviously any Buick enthusiast to add to his collection and a sure-fire investment that's sure to appreciate over the years for any classic American car collector!
