This is the much more scarce 1986 Wolfsburg Weekender model with back facing jump seat and pop-up table. No factory air conditioner.
I built the Vanagon I wanted and now I need to sell it. I have invested a lot of money in it and all within the last six months. I have receipts for everything. I started with everything you couldn't see and made it reliable for extended trips and then finished with the GoWesty swag. It's set-up to go. I seriously can't list everything here as you wouldn't want to read it all but here is the major and minor things I did.
-New GoWesty 4-speed transmission, clutch, slave cylinder, flywheel etc...
-New Clutch petal (had a lot of play), shift rod tabs, shift rod bushings. Transmission is totally amazing, probably better than when it was new.
-Complete tune-up and oil change.
-New ignition switch and harness.
-New primary battery and new Marine Deep Cycle auxillary battery.
-New Bosch alternator.
-New motor mounts.
New muffler and tail pipe.
-New GoWesty pop top lift assist system (lifts the top like a dream).
-New 1000 watt power inverter and ProSport 12 amp Dual bank battery charger.
-Auxillary battery kit, Alternator wiring harness, auxiliary power outlet, headlight warning system and fuse panel.
-New set of powder coated all-around door handles, seals and gaskets.
-Complete new 18 part skylight replacement.
-GoWesty South African front grille system with new headlamps and hi-power bulbs.
-New black rubber floor mat set in front and rear.
-Yakima 3-bar rack set with Yakima Load Warrior cargo tray & extension.
-New GoWesty front and rear plate steel bumper set.
-Two new GoWesty swing arm systems mounted to rear bumper with tire carrier system, Universal tray, ladder, storage lockbox, locking strap etc...
- 5 new 16" GoWesty black powder coated steel wheels and Michelin Defender 215/60R/16 tires (guaranteed 100,000 miles).
-New wiper blades, wiper arm caps, side marker lenses, Alpine CD, front retractable window screen.

Prior owner says the 2.1 liter was rebuilt at 160,000 but couldn't find the paperwork, his father in-law had bought it new. I believe him as the engine runs great, pulls up hills. The van runs and shifts like a champ.
As far as the exterior, the clear coat is worn in places, has some door dings, small dents on the wheel wells. No rust in the seams, no cancer at all. I intended to install the GoWesty fender flares which would cover the dings over the wheel wells and call it done. I never intended to paint the van as I don't want a vehicle that if it got scratched I would get upset.
Outside of exterior, the interior is in good condition but worn, needs new window tinting or be stripped. Has newer hemp tent, rear hatch bug screen.
If you like the way it sounds I would consider reasonable offers. Don't hesitate to ask questions, it's hard to photograph.
