ITEM DESCRIPTION

Yes...4572 miles on the odometer and 4300 miles on the Maryland title, dated 2/2/14. That's how it was traded in to our RV dealership, and it is surprisingly solid for the age. There are a couple spots that aren't perfect, but...it's a 39 year old Jeep. My personal jeep (a '92 YJ) is nowhere near as old as this one...and it's nowhere near as nice as this one!

The VIN decodes as a factory 304/3 speed setup, and that's what this has in it.

My camera focused on the wrong part of the screen, but there is a "304" cast into the block where it bolts to the driver side motor mount. And if the motor looks fresh...it's because it IS fresh. The customer who traded it to us was driving it here to trade it, and the rear main seal let go. Instead of slapping a new seal in it and letting us have it...they pulled the motor and told us they went through the whole thing, to make sure it was all OK. It doesn't knock, smoke, tic, ping, rattle, or drip - it's SOLID. Fires right up, runs great, doesn't hiccup or hesitate, and the aftermarket Sunpro gauges all read in the good range for temp, electric, and oil pressure. The factory tach also works nicely, the speedo seems to work, but either the fuel gauge doesn't work...or I was lucky to get back to the dealership because it shows empty. And I'm not sure if the clock is working.

The 3 speed shifts like it should, and so does the transfer case. The hubs also lock in and out like they should, but I didn't go mudding or anything like that to test the 4x4 - I don't get other people's Jeeps filthy like I do mine!

The interior is also in great shape / new(er) - the seats feel good, the top and doors are like new, and the floors are rock-solid with a nice bedliner coating on them. Even the seatbelts look great!

Underneath also looks good - nice and solid. You can also see brand new bleeder nipples on the rear brakes - the factory manual brakes work like they should. Nice straight stops, no vibrations or noises. This Jeep is in good shape.

If there's bodywork under the paint...it's good. No more ripples than I'd expect from a CJ's factory panels, they weren't exactly show cars from the factory!

All four 31x10.50 tires look good, and the wheels are also in nice shape.

A shot of the front Warn lock-in/lock-out hubs.

The body is nice and solid, but there are still a couple of spots here and there that show their age (we all do, when we get to be this age!).

All in all though, this is a nice solid CJ!!

I tried researching this the best I could. It has Renegade decals on it, but from what I'm finding there's no real way to "tell" if it's a Renegade or not because...well, the Renegade was basically just decals anyway by '76 (and as you can see, these are not the original "swoosh" style decals anyway). I'm also happy to check for block numbers on the engine, if folks want (and can tell me where to look). I'll do my best to get answers to any questions folks have about it. All in all? This looks like a nicely updated, mostly-original CJ. If you've been looking for one but don't want a rustbucket/project...you just found a nice, driver quality, ready-to-hit-the-trails truck. We had a long weekend and the Jeep had been sitting for a few days. I got in, tapped the accelerator pedal four or five times to prime the carb, turned the key...and it fired right up just as happy as could be. It runs nice, shifts nice, steers well, brakes straight and smooth, power is good, it's just a neat Jeep!.

If you are going to bid on one of our items, keep these "top ten" details in mind:

1Availability. We're an RV dealer. You're looking at a non-RV that we took on trade towards an RV. We don't always have "other" units in stock, so if you see one you like...click it before someone else does, because there's no telling when (or if) we're going to get another one.

2. Item condition. I post LOTS of photos in my ads so you can see what you are bidding on. If I find an issue...I tell you all about it. If the item is nice...I tell you all about that, too.  If you have questions about any part of the item that may not be spelled out in the listing...ASK ME about it. Don't assume.

3Inspections. I DO NOT have our shop inspect any of our eBay units, unless it specifically says I did in the auction listing. That's part of how I save you so much money - by selling items as-is, where-is, just like if you were buying it out of my driveway in a private sale. I don't use tools or disassemble anything when I write my ads, I simply "turn on / turn off" and report my findings in the ad. If you're curious about a particular function, ASK ME about it if you don't see it in the listing, or come and see it in person.

4. Our location - we are in Thurmont, Maryland. The yellow box below has a link to our location on Mapquest. The bottom of this ad has our contact information.

5. Our office hours. Just like a car dealer, or a bank, or a restaurant, there are hours when we're here...and hours when we're closed. I’m only one guy doing ALL the eBay work here, and just like you…I can’t possibly work 24/7. Please plan to pick up your purchase when we are open for business - Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm (east coast time). Any holidays will be clearly noted in the ad. I always recommend checking before you "drop by" - I'm one guy, and just like you, I sometimes have doctors appointments, vacations, or other customer appointments that can keep me tied up and cause you to have to wait. It is much easier if you shoot me a note or give me a ring (again, see the bottom "Contact Us" section) so we can pick a time for you to visit when I'm available.

6. Item pick-up. We do not ship. You are welcome to book your own shipper once you have purchased and paid in full for the item, and I will gladly work with any shipper you send after your item.

7. Pricing. I get as many discounts out of my boss as possible when I write these listings. Most times, our Buy It Now prices are THOUSANDS of dollars below our retail pricing - I've DONE the negotiating for you. And any advertised price is for the ITEM ONLY – no tax, no tag fees, no title fees, no accessories, no labor – unless otherwise noted in the auction listing.

8. Payment. If you win the auction, you are expected to make your $500 downpayment in 24 hours and pay for the item within seven days. Accepted payment methods are cash in person; electronic wire transfer; or certified check (US residents only). Failure to pay for the item in the required time can result in a report to a collections agency and a cancellation of the sale without any refunds, so please - only bid if you intend to buy.

9. Financing. If you need to finance, click HERE, keeping in mind that my banks prefer newer items (less than 10 years old), local buyers (close to Maryland), good credit history, and decent downpayments.

10. Frequently Asked Questions. I have a whole PAGE devoted to FAQ's in our eBay store. Click HERE to see if your question and answer are there.

eBaoffice hours: Monday-Friday, 9am – 6pm

We are a busy company and we work on a tight schedule – we need all our customers to schedule their pickup date and time, and to please stick to that schedule so we don’t delay you, or any of our other customers. Part of it is good business practice…part of it is just common courtesy.

2.  Read this entire auction listing CAREFULLY.

3.  Use common sense.

If you're a registered user and able to place a bid on eBay...you've already agreed to this.

Failure to follow the payment rules above will result in a personal-information inquiry here on eBay. You will be notified by the eBay system when your information has been requested by beckleysrvs.

We're family owned and operated!

Click here for our location on Mapquest.

We employ over 100 people, cover more than a dozen acres, have an 11,375 square foot service facility equipped with state of the art tools and specialty service items, and a fully-stocked retail parts and accessories store. Even as large as we are, we're not a chain-store. The owners are on-site every single day working with us to make sure our buyers are as happy as possible.

On any given day we have over 300 units (new and used) in stock and ready to go - everything from teardrops and popups, truck campers through travel trailers and fifth wheels, up to class A, B, C, and diesel pusher motorhomes. eBay is a way for us to reach out to even more RV shoppers, so we can spread the love of RVing far and wide! If one of my listings is close to what you're looking for...email me. I probably have (or can get) exactly what you're looking for.

Some sellers on eBay are all about price. What about value? Look at my listings carefully - my price may look higher than the other guy's, but make sure you check their listings for extra fees. I have NONE.

NO SURPRISE FEES AT BECKLEY'S RV'S!!

If you live in Maryland, I collect tax, tag, and title fees for the state and that's it. If you live somewhere else, I don't collect for your home state - I get $20 for a temp tag, and that's all. No surprises, NO EXTRA FEES, NO EXTRA CHARGES. Ask the other guy what they charge - you'll probably get a different answer from them.

If you have questions about this item, please ask!

If you need an answer outside my office hours...EMAIL ME.

My name is Joe, and my office hours are Monday-Friday, 9am-6pm (East Coast time)

Email is ALWAYS the best way to get in touch with me!

If you prefer to call during my office hours, my number is 800-296-6959.

MAKE SURE YOU ASK FOR JOE!!

Please - make note of my office hours before you call.

If you email after-hours, tell me if your question is urgent and I'll do my best to get back to you as quickly as I can. If there's no "urgent" tag in the email, I will answer it along with all other emails first thing the next work day.

I answer all my emails PERSONALLY.

No auto-responder here!! You won't hear from a computer, or a "response center" - you'll get an answer from ME!

If you have a question about an item that has ended, you need to TELL ME what the item is. The eBay email system does not include any item information once an auction has ended, all it says is "so and so asked a question". Tell me you're asking about the 2009 Cougar travel trailer, or the 1998 Dodge pickup truck, or whatever the item is, so I can get you an answer quickly.
