1973 MG Midget
VIN HAW5UL113948G
MILEAGE 9999 STOCK No #1145 TRANSMISSION 4 Speed Manual
ENGINE 4-CYL EXTERIOR COLOR Maroon INTERIOR Black
Description

The MG Midget was produced between 1961 and 1979, and harkened back to MG'spre-war days - where the M-series, D-series, and T-series were all affectionately referred to as "midgets", though the nickname was only officially applied to the M-series. The diminutive name refers to the smaller engine sizes - NOT a lack of space in the cockpit. The Midget was inspired by the Austin Healey Bugeye Sprite, which was also being produced by British Motor Company, in the same period. The Bugeye's zippy, high revving engines that handled more like a go-karts than sports cars were so popular that BMC decided to restyle the concept for 1961 and sell it as a new Midget.

This 1973 MG Midget is a rust-free, original Midget with the 1275cc engine and dual carburetors. All the mechanicals function very well, producing the desired 65hp and propelling the car from 0-60 in 11 seconds - not too bad for a zippy little car! It comes with a new convertible top, as well as a hard top and a tonneau cover - so you are truly prepared for wherever your drive takes you. It has been fitted with four new tires as well as new seat covers. Though we cannot speak to the mileage, the car runs and drives very well, the interior is in great condition, the chrome work is still good, and the paint is a nice, driver-quality job - all of which suggest that however many miles this Midget has traveled in its life, it has been well-kept all along and is ready for more.
