OVERVIEW

I recently had the pleasure of purchasing a collection of cars that are truly the cream of the crop, and this rare big back window F100 is one those vehicles.

A complete restoration and build with just 124 miles as of this listing date, the truck has been stored in its climate controlled garage since completion, and is waiting for the new owner to drive, enjoy, and show it.

DESCRIPTION

This could quite possibly be one of the cleanest F-100 pickups I have ever owned, and I have had a LOT of them!

I recently acquired this truck as part of a collection of vehicles, and it is an absolutely stunning machine that captures your attention with its clean lines, simplicity, and attention to detail.

With just over 124 miles on the odometer, most of them put on by me, the truck is still in a freshly-finished state, and needs nothing but a lucky new owner to drive it and get out on the Regional and National show circuit.

The stunning Porsche Guards Red finish is glossy, slick, and wet looking, and shows like a 124 mile truck should! Keep in mind that this machine has NOT been detailed by me, so once you get it home and clean it from stem to stern it will show even better than it does in the photos I have provided.

It has a few VERY, VERY minor and miniscule marks on it just from being in storage, but as you can see in the 100 EXTRA-LARGE photos below, it is basically as fault-free as anything else in its investment range.

Any marks or blemishes that exist are out of line-of-site, and appear on the lower fascia, sides, and under panels of the truck, and consist of tiny hairline marks, a small stone chip or blemish, etc., and do NOT detract from the overall presentation of the truck. I simply want you to know that it is not 100% perfect, because after 3,500 cars and 10 years, I STILL haven’t seen a perfect one yet!

Chrome and bright work on the truck is blindingly beautiful, and 90% of it is brand new or re-chromed and shows like it was just plated last week. From the chrome front and rear bumpers, grill insert, tail lamp units, exhaust tips, mirrors, front signal surrounds, and all the way to the emblems… anything on the outside of the truck that was chrome is in exceptional, show-quality condition.

The bed wood in the truck is in excellent condition, and has no cracks, chips, or damage of any kind on its glossy-finished surface. All of the hardware and bed straps are in excellent, show-quality condition as well.

The bed sides and tailgate inner panel are all painted to match, and aside from a handful of normal use marks, it all shows wonderfully.

The body itself is in exceptional condition, with laser straight panels, exceptional gaps, and fantastic fit and finish. A 4”x4” felt covered magnet sticks like glue to every piece of steel on the truck, and it is not some “backwoods build” with chicken wire and beer can body parts. This was restored to the highest level, and shows it from every angle.

The truck rides on steel wheels that have been carefully painted in matching Porsche Guards Red before the brightly finished trim rings and FORD logo center caps were installed. All of the wheels look incredible, and they are each wrapped in brand new Performance Radial tires size P255/70R15 in back, and P225/70R16 up front. The tires are damage and issue free, and have just 124 miles on them since installed. The truck was stored on a lift, so the tires DO NOT have any flat spots or issues.

All the other exterior trim items, like the step plates, fuel cap, wiper arms, and door handles, all shows to be in exceptional condition, without any damage or disrepair.

The glass on the truck is in exceptional condition, including the MASSIVE “Big Back Window” that makes this truck so rare. There are no scrapes, chips, or cracks in the glass, and no signs of any laminate issues either.

All of the windows glide up and down on new regulators and fuzzies, and all of the weather stripping, trim, and rubber seals throughout the truck are in as-new condition with no issues.

The cowl vent on the hood functions like it should, and moves easily with the inside handle.

Overall, the exterior of the truck is a 9.20 out of 10.00, and I am sure that when your detailed cleans it and gets all of the little nooks and crannies wiped down, it will be even higher on the scale than that!

Opening the hood reveals a super clean and like-new GM Performance 350ci V8 motor with 290hp that has more than enough power to motivate this truck down the highway.

Cleanly finished, accessorized with the best components, and equipped with a modern serpentine belt system, motor was selected and built to be a reliable long-haul capable engine that could be easily maintained and managed.

It starts right up with the turn of a key, idles clean and silky smooth, and is ready to go whenever you are. Snick the gear selector into OVERDRIVE, and the 4-speed Overdrive transmission takes over with smooth and easy shifts as you gain speed heading out on the road.

There are NO KNOWN ISSUES with this powertrain, and I have put on the majority of the miles this truck has myself. It rides, drives, handles, stops, and performs like a new machine in every way, and does not exhibit any signs of it having ANY issues.

Power is smooth and on demand, braking is solid and sure without any excess fade, modulation, or pulling, and the transmission is seamlessly smooth in all gears.

The factory styled radiator is actually a new unit made to work with the GM motor, and it keeps the nostalgic appearance up well.

The modern belt system is easy to care for, fairly fail-safe, and allows you to carry just one spare bed on the road.

A new style GM DELCO compressor keeps things icy cold and is a lot more efficient than the old-style compressors people still use.

The engine bay itself is clean and neatly trimmed, and I am sure when you have it detailed it will look even nicer than it does already.

The chassis on the truck is clean, painted black, and looks great. You won’t be putting mirrors under it because it was not made to be a trailer queen, but it is certainly clean and makes it very easy to see all of the bits and pieces that have been replaced, refurbished, and restored underneath the truck.

Ride is soft and confidence inspiring, and the truck absorbs bumps and things easily without becoming to “wallowy” when cornering or heavy braking.

A pressure wash and simple wipe down will make it as good as the day it was done again, and any oxidation you see is simply surface stuff that whisks away easily with a nylon brush.

Opening the doors of this truck shows an interior that is ridiculously nice, incredibly clean, and tastefully neutral throughout.

The painted dash has been fit with a new gauge insert panel that has a functional temp gauge and fuel gauge, along with working dummy lights for oil and battery. A fully functional speedometer and odometer finish it off, and appear to be accurate.

Switches for the headlamp and wipers are of vintage style and look great.

Headlamps, tail lamps, hi/lo switch, and brake lamps work as they should. Windshield wipers do not. I will try to find out why, but at this time they are NOT FUNCTIONING and the truck is sold that way.

A 12V Cigar outlet works as it should, and can power your accessories too.

Vintage provided the climate control system for the truck, and it functions wonderfully to provide icy cold air to the cabin without any issues.

A SONY AM/FM/CD head unit with removable face plate fits cleanly in the dash, and provides god sound through the dual custom kick panel speakers.

A painted tilt steering column not only looks great, but provides a base for the billet leather-wrapped steering wheel with FORD center button and functional horn, the tilt mechanism for the steering column, cruise control switchgear, and the chrome custom shift arm with clear gear selection window.

Overhead, a dome lamp set up has dual map lights, and is mounted between the two sun visors with vanity mirrors. I can’t get the mirror lights to work, but they appear to be wired. Map light unit does work as it should.

Ashtray opens and works as it should, along with the clean and lined glove compartment.

The soft and supple leather covering the seat is amazingly comfortable, and matches the rest of the leather trim on the door arm rests and kick panels. There are no rips, tears, or seam pulls in the leather upholstery.

Custom cut and formed door and headliner panels are wrapped in heavy-weave material that matches the rear fully wrapped panel. All of it is clean and show ready, with no seam pulls or damage.

Any marks or light spots on the interior should simply come clean when you have the truck detailed.

Custom cut and installed banded wall-to-wall carpeting looks fantastic, and has no damage.

Vintage custom chrome door pulls and window rollers look great, but show light patina from originality.

The best thing about the interior is that it is so extremely clean and NOT GAUDY! In a day in age when people try to put every single thing they can inside a truck from neon, to walls of speakers, the simplicity and overall minimalistic presentation of this truck really stands out.

Overall, the inside of the truck shows as a solid 9.50, and AGAIN, a basic detail and clean will make it go even higher than that.

This is your chance to own a ridiculously clean F100 with the rare Big Back Window that needs nothing but a simple detail and a new owner. It is ready to show regionally or Nationally, and will dominate most local shows. It should probably be submitted to a magazine for feature consideration, and is one of the straightest and cleanest F100’s around.

I am pretty sure you could fly in and drive this thing home anywhere in the lower 48, and I bet it would do just fine. It is a great driver, and I have put probably 75 of its miles on it myself, because it is just too nice not to drive!

There are NO known mechanical, operational, functional, electrical, or operational issues that I am aware of other than what has been disclosed in the listing above.
