This is a great luxury sedan for anyone who drives, considering it averages 18/27 MPG, this opens up to people trying to save money as well. You don't have to spend a lot of money just to be comfortable! Who doesn't like all the bells and whistles like heated front and rear seats? Everyone deserves a nice, quiet, comfortable commute! INTERIOR: The leather is still in good shape, the driver seat shows signs of age and use. The carpet is clean with no defects, the floor mats will need professional attention, but there are all intact. The driver seat is fully functional, as you can see in the pictures, the control buttons are missing but can still be adjusted. The heat blows hard and is very effective with the heated seats. The radio sounds great and the convenient controls on the steering wheel keep your attention on the road. The dual climate control is a great feature for your passengers, and there is full control for the rear also! The display on the climate control unit is foggy, there is some type of adhesive that is being stubborn. A professional detail is recommended! EXTERIOR: The pictures are never modified in anyway, they will show you exactly what I see, how I see it. There are some imperfections, including dents, dings, and scuffs. There doesn't seem to be any major damage, but I think someone had some parallel parking issues. The very bottom of the rear bumper needs to be fastened properly as you can see in the pictures. In all honesty, the front and rear bumper, and the driver front fender are the only things that are damaged. They do not need replaced and are not expensive parts to paint, that is my personal opinion. The tires have a lot of tread on them. There are a couple of places on the wheels that have peeling issues, it would be easier to replace them for a couple hundred bucks. MOTOR/HANDLING: The SLS starts right up and idles like a Cadillac should. There aren't any odd sounds or odors. The acceleration is smooth and responsive as well as the transmission. The brakes work just fine and stop the car fast. The back up sensors work just fine too. The suspension is just how it should be, plush but not bouncy. The powered steering is soft and easy, and there is no pinging on tight turns. This Cadillac is a quiet soft ride that your passengers can enjoy for hours. The check engine light is currently on and it does not seem to affect the way it drives. I was told the airbag light was on, but after driving it, I did not see it. This 2003 Cadillac SLS does run and drive like a car with 70k miles on it, the bumpers unfortunately do not tell the same story. This is a cosmetic issue, nothing more. 2015 Cadillac Escalade blings its way into LA
Thu, 21 Nov 2013The new Cadillac Escalade sauntered out onto the Los Angeles Auto Show stage, showing off its new familial face and redesigned interior. That exterior, with its slim, wrap-over headlights and tall, vertical taillights (both made up of LEDs) is a subtle but significant departure from the past styling of General Motors' flagship SUV.
And while there's no shortage of stuff to discuss about the Caddy's exterior, its cabin is where the big changes happen. Aside from the column-mounted shifter, the cabin receives a heavy going-over, receiving Cadillac's new CUE infotainment system and a significant upgrade to the materials. Comparing it to furniture, Eric Clough, Cadillac's director of design for interiors, said, "An exceptional level of craftsmanship has gone into the redesign of the 2015 Cadillac Escalade, and it all centers on the premium materials and extensive use of cut-and-sew live stitching."
Under hood sits a 420-horsepower, 460-pound-foot, 6.2-liter V8. Fitted with direct injection and active fuel management, fuel economy for the big Escalade should get a much-needed boost beyond the current model's 14-city and 18-highway miles per gallon, although official numbers haven't been published quite yet. A six-speed automatic is the sole gearbox choice. Cadillac has also fitted the new Escalade with GM's magnetic ride control system, which should deliver a more refined ride than its predecessor.
2020 Cadillac CT5 prototype shows off more lighting details
Thu, Jun 14 2018The elusive 2020 Cadillac CT5 luxury sports sedan has once again been spotted by a spy photographer. This time, we get to see it from all angles, whereas last time we only saw it from the front. It still has quite a bit of fake body work, and it's very clear Cadillac still hopes you'll think this is a Charger, from the big hood scoop to the fake full-width taillights. Digging past those misdirects, we can find some new details about the car. First, the car's front lighting has developed further. There are production-ready headlights fitted that appear to have some sort of LED illumination. These production lights also fit the shape we saw on the last prototype, so they'll end high up on the body, extending slightly horizontally toward the grille. There's still a section that extends back along the fender, seeming to bridge the gap between current Cadillacs and the Escala concept from which this car takes inspiration. Another addition are the vertical LED accent lights. This is another trademark feature of both current Cadillacs and the Escala, but they were absent from the last prototype we saw. We also get a look at some of the grille's details. Instead of slats, this CT5 has a plastic mesh of small rectangles. The pattern is reminiscent of brickwork. These photos also give us our first look at the back of the CT5. It looks like a fairly typical Cadillac. It's much more conservative than the front end. There are some angular cutouts in the bumper to allow exhaust gases out. The taillights have the current Cadillac look with the top curving over the rear fender. We can't tell if there will be a horizontal element like on the Escala, due to the fake lights. We're expecting the CT5 to be shown sometime next year in time for the 2020 model year. Odds are it will use off-the-shelf Cadillac engines including the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder, naturally aspirated 3.6-liter V6, and the twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6. Now that Cadillac has revealed its twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8, we'll be interested to see if that shows up in a future CT5-V. Cadillac rushing update for laggy CUE infotainment system
Tue, 05 Feb 2013BMW's innovative iDrive was introduced in 2001, and a dozen years later, automakers are still learning hard lessons about what consumers want in their infotainment systems. In response to owner feedback - and a few media drubbings - about the delayed and occasionally fickle responses of its CUE (short for Cadillac User Experience) system, Cadillac has told Wired that it's going to issue an update this year.
Coming for the XTS and ATS, the new software will mean quicker haptic feedback to driver inputs on the touchscreen and the buttons, and snappier responses on screen. Down the road, Cadillac's VP of marketing says that a different mix of screen controls and hard buttons is "something you'll be seeing in the future" - the system is presently a mix of touchscreen-based controls and capacitive-touch switchgear - there are no knobs or physical pushbuttons to speak of, and the omission of both has proven to be a divisive issue among consumers and industry pundits.
Cadillac hasn't provided a date for when the CUE update will be issued, but it has indicated that the service will be performed by dealers, not sent wirelessly.
