For your consideration I am offering for sale my 1992 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham d’Elegance sedan.  The car has been driven only 68, 900 miles from new and has been maintained in a climate controlled garage.  This car has clearly been meticulously maintained since new. I have owned the car for three years using it only for show and special occasions having bought it from another collector.  This is the best driving, comfortable, and most reliable collector car I have ever owned.  I would not hesitate to drive the car any distance.  I’m always amazed at how much attention the car receives, both at shows and on the street.  I recently took the car to an upscale dining establishment and when the valet returned the car he said it was his favorite of everything he had driven.  That includes some pretty exotic company so I thought it a great compliment.  My reason for selling is that I just took another collector car in for paint and bodywork and it is going to be quite a bit more costly than anticipated.

This particular car has always been a Southern car.  I believe the color is Sapphire Blue Metallic.  The car features the optional 5.7 liter V8 with throttle-body fuel injection (Chevrolet 350 I believe), four speed automatic, and 3.08:1 rear axle ratio.  The Brougham of course features power everything and the standard premium AM/FM stereo with tape deck.   Everything on the car is in fully functional condition right down to the auto trunk release and pull-down feature.

Drivetrain:  In my three years of ownership the only item I have had to replace is the water pump which was approximately 400 miles ago.  I believe the fuel pump was replaced just before my purchase.  The car performs flawlessly, has good pick-up, and has never let me down.  Every feature in the car works as it should and the climate control air conditioning blows very cold.  Cruise control works as it should, wipers and spray, everything is turn-key ready on this car.  The engine compartment is extraordinarily clean and fresh looking and the engine does not even show any paint loss to speak of.

Chassis:  The Hankook Optimo whitewall tires were installed just prior to my purchase and now have approximately 6000 miles on them.  When I purchased the car I had the brakes inspected and they were found to be in nearly new condition at that time.  I assume they were overhauled at the same time the tires were purchased.  The wire wheel-covers are in really excellent condition with exception of the right rear showing one linear inch of curb rash.  The underside of the car is very clean with only the normal sporadic light surface rust.  The body is 100% rust free.

Interior:  The interior is in nearly new condition.  There is only the very slightest wear on the side of the drivers sear along the edge facing the door.  It is so minimal it is almost not worth mentioning. The interior is in a remarkable state of preservation with no cuts or tears.  The leather is still very supple and the back seat looks never to have been sat in.  The dash and door panels are nearly flawless.  The headliner was replaced by the original owner and I would never guess it had been done had I not been told.  Apparently the carpet was replaced at the same time and is still fresh and like new.  The trunk is original, as is the mat, all in excellent condition.

Body and trim:  I believe the paint is all original with the exception of the front fiberglass valance which was professionally painted for show.  There is a dimple just to the left of the trunk lock where it looks like something fell against the car, you have to catch it in the right light to see it.  The plastic fillers around the tail lights are supple and perfect.  The silver plastic rear bumper filler has two cracks and I never got around to replacing it, the part is available.  The vinyl top is in amazing condition and I would say 99.9% of the stitching is intact which is a rarity.  There is a small 3/8” round filled in patch centered over the rear window at the bend of the roof.  It’s not really noticeable but I must mention it, it was there when I purchased the car.  The color of the roof is very good with only a few dime sized etched spots from bird droppings.  This Brougham is fully detailed for show, right down to the door jambs.  The car is ready to drive onto the show field and has recently placed first among some formidable competition, in one case against four other similar Broughams.  I searched quite a while to find a 90-92 Brougham d’Elegance with the 5.7 in this condition and color and it has been nothing but a joy to drive and own.

I am a private collector, not a dealer.  The car is located in Atlanta, GA 30307 Clear title, no warranty expressed or implied.  My preferred method of payment is wire transfer or cashiers check.  Car is local pick-up only, I work from home so will do my best to accommodate pick up or your transport company.  Thank you.

You want screens? The 2021 Cadillac Escalade infotainment system gives you screens

Wed, Mar 3 2021

The 2021 Cadillac Escalade’s infotainment system shocked and awed when it debuted, but now weÂ’ve finally had a chance to live with both it and the giant SUV that surrounds it for a week. Sliding behind the triple OLED screens is like stepping into the tech-forward future Cadillac promised us. The 6.2-liter push-rod V8 under the hood says otherwise, but the interior technology has already arrived. There are three screens in total: a 16.9-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system, a 14.2-inch instrument cluster and a 7.2-inch touchscreen to the left of the cluster. All three are OLED displays, and just as you might expect, they are gorgeous to take in. None of the high-tech German luxury vehicles have screens this pretty. The Escalade's donÂ’t just look great, though. All three screens are quick to react and pop through functions/menus without a hitch. The only slop or delay in the whole system is when you go to turn the cluster's augmented reality (AR) camera on  — you wait one potato, two potato, and then the feed pops up. ItÂ’s a new take on GMÂ’s infotainment system as a whole. YouÂ’ll still be swiping side-to-side through an iPad-esque display of apps, but the UI is totally rethought and appears fresh. Icons are big and easy to press. Nothing is hidden off-screen at any point. It just makes good sense. 2021 Cadillac Escalade infotainment View 17 Photos Cadillac has found a way to better utilize its redundant scroll wheel, too. Though it's the same wheel as is on other models, this time the whole display changes to match the wheelÂ’s action when you use it. For example, the home screen turns into a revolving circle of apps that you twist through as soon as you twist the dial. It may take some getting used to, but the option between two different interfaces that both function well is a positive. Redundant combos of touchscreen and control wheel are common, but no one offers something like this.  Keeping a few physical buttons and an actual volume knob around to control the infotainment system is another thoughtful touch — same goes for the climate controls, which entirely consist of physical buttons. Despite the central instrument panel screenÂ’s prodigious size, you wonÂ’t actually find a whole lot buried in there. All of the trip settings and general car settings have been moved into the infotainment system itself.

GM may have teased a whole group of electric vehicles

Tue, Jan 12 2021

During GM's big CES press conference, the automaker highlighted a number of its upcoming electric car-related projects from delivery vans to the upcoming flagship Cadillac Celestiq. In the middle of it all, a collection of mystery cars sat in the background behind speakers. They were in the dark, lit only with their running lights, and while it's possible they're just generic filler cars or concepts, we think they could be future products. Our best shot of the cars together is shown above, and we can pretty easily identify three of the vehicles. In the center is obviously the GMC Hummer EV. On either side of it are Cadillacs. To the left seems to be the Lyriq crossover, and to the right is the Celestiq sedan. Two of these cars have production dates, and the third has been confirmed for eventual production, just without timing. This is why we think the rest of the cars are upcoming models. The next most easily identified car is on the near right behind the Cadillac Celestiq. It very clearly has a Chevy bowtie illuminated in the running lights. And looking closely, it appears to be a pickup truck. It's difficult to make out anything more than that. The nose does look a bit more rounded and swept back than the brick-like designs of the Silverado truck line. That also squares with what seemed to be the upcoming truck that appeared in the background of yet another GM presentation. GM previously said this electric Chevy truck will be a full-size model with up to 400 miles of range. That leaves us with three more mysterious models. Over to the left behind the Cadillac Lyriq are what appear to be a pair of crossovers. The one on the far left looks low, curvy, and possibly with a fastback roof. The one on the right is taller, boxier, and probably more of a full-size people hauler. It's hard to say much more beyond that. They could be new electric Buicks, which would fit in nicely with that brand's crossover portfolio, and would likely be highly successful in China, where Buicks, crossovers and electric cars are all rather hot commodities. As for the mystery car on the far right, it's quite a puzzle. We can at least rule out Buick and Cadillac, and GMC since it's definitely a car, and a rather small one compared with the other cars on display. That leaves Chevy, and possibly the autonomous division Cruise. We're leaning toward it being a Chevy, since the first Cruise vehicle is going to be a boxy pod of sorts.
