For Sale is a 1972 Cadillac Fleetwood limousine. I bought this limo in November of 2012, and spent over 8,000.00 (you can have all receipts) in parts to make this a daily driver. I lost my garage, and I'm too old to work in the street. My loss is your gain.
Below is a partial list of the work done thus far: Reconditioned gas tank for 1972 limo, (28 gallons), sending unit, mechanical fuel pump, fuel filter and lines. Center link, Idler arm, Upper and Lower ball joints and bushings, Strut rods, Sway bar, Inner and outer tie rod ends. Front springs and shocks. Rear has new Air Ride shocks. Cad Company Rebuilt Q-Jet carburetor for 472/500 Cadillac engine. Timing chain and gaskets. Water pump. Hi Amp Alternator. Smog pump. EGR valve. Power steering pump and lines. Power steering box and Pitman arm shaft All belts and hoses. Master cylinder & power booster. Wheel bearings. front/rear brake calipers. wheel cylinders and lines. Radiator, hoses, front blower motor. Distributor, cap, coil, condenser, points, vacuum advance, wires and spark plugs. Front motor mounts. New battery, positive and negative cables. Valve cover gaskets. New trunk gasket. 4 new B F Goodrich 235/75R15 tires. There's more, I just don't remember now. As I do, I'll add it here. I don't have a garage anymore to work, so I have pass this beauty on to the next lucky owner. Included in this sale are 2 manuals that you will truly need, the 1972 Fisher Body Repair Manual and a hardcover copy of the 1972 Cadillac Shop Manual. I also have the 1972 Cadillac Data Book, which is the book that the salesperson would use in the showroom to show buyers the available options. What's also great is it has the 1972 paint color selection card. |

Junkyard Gem: 1973 Cadillac Eldorado
Mon, Jun 13 2016The 1971-1978 Cadillac Eldorado was a gloriously ridiculous personal luxury coupe, packing a monstrous 500-cubic-inch V8 (that's 8.2 liters for you freedom-hating metric types) under its acre-sized hood for the first five years of production. Fuel economy was comfortably into single-digit territory, which meant you had to be a real high roller to be able to feed a new Eldo after OPEC turned off the oil spigot. I found this '73 in a Denver wrecking yard earlier this spring. View 18 Photos This car appears to have been sold new in Denver, and the extensive bodywork and sanded areas indicate that it was someone's project car prior to coming to the end of the line. The front-wheel-drive system used in the Cadillac Eldorados and Oldsmobile Toronados of this era was known as the Unified Powerplant Package, and it used a longitudinally-mounted engine feeding a chain-drive setup that proved to be amazingly sturdy and reliable. So sturdy, in fact, that it was used in gigantic front-wheel-drive GMC motorhomes. Everyone agrees that these cars are cool, but few are willing to rescue a rough example and take on the difficult and expensive job of a full restoration. Super Cruise will feature in 22 GM nameplates by 2023
Thu, Feb 6 2020Super Cruise, the semi-autonomous hands-free driving technology that first appeared on the 2018 Cadillac CT6, was always intended to broaden out to more GM models, especially now that CT6 production has ended, but now we have specific numbers. Automotive News reports that GM will have it on 22 nameplates by 2023. GM President Mark Reuss spilled the beans to investors at the company’s Capital Markets Day presentation, saying that Super Cruise will start appearing in brands beyond Cadillac in 2021. GM just last week announced the first big update for its driver-assist technology late last month, saying it would be coming to the 2021 CT5, CT4 and Escalade full-size SUV, all of which should debut later this year. Next year weÂ’ll see it offered as an option on seven more nameplates, then a dozen more in 2022 and 2023, Reuss said. The next generation of the technology will come with a new feature called “Lane Change on Demand,” which will allow the driver to activate or tap the turn signal and the car to do a hands-free lane change if itÂ’s safe to do so, and so long as the driver monitor system can tell the driver is paying attention. ItÂ’s also said to feature improved performance and hands-free dynamics, a better user interface and software tweaks, among other upgrades. Super Cruise uses a camera and infrared light to detect whether the driver is paying attention, plus radar, cameras and lidar mapping to center the vehicle in a highway lane and drive in hands-free mode in optimal scenarios. ThereÂ’s no immediate word on whether the upcoming next-generation version will also come with an expanded network of compatible highways beyond the 200,000 miles where the technology is currently capable of being deployed. 2020 Cadillac CT5 revealed, will replace the CTS
Mon, Mar 18 2019Between the end of most of Cadillac's sedan offerings and the launch of the underwhelming XT6 crossover, things were looking dreary at the American luxury brand. But now we get an exciting surprise in the reveal of the 2020 Cadillac CT5 sedan. It's a clean, and arguably conservative-looking sedan, but there are a number of things that have us intrigued. The sedan is clearly the CTS replacement, since the name falls just below the flagship CT6 sedan. Under the hood are two familiar Cadillac engines, a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 and a twin-turbo 3.0-liter V6. Power numbers haven't been announced, but expect each to make similar power to the current CTS: 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque for the four-cylinder and 420 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque for the V6. Rear drive and all-wheel drive are available, and both engines get a 10-speed automatic transmission. The car also adopts the trim level scheme introduced by the XT4 and XT6 crossovers, which means there are just two choices, Sport and Luxury. The Sport model, pictured in gray, has a more aggressive front fascia and dark taillights, while the Luxury model, shown in burgundy, has a more demure appearance and classic red taillights. We only get a glimpse of the interior, and it shows the latest electronic gear shifter shared with Cadillac's recent crossovers, along with a physical knob for interacting with the infotainment system. Cadillac announced that the car will make its public debut at the New York Auto Show, and it will be built at the Grand River factory in Lansing, Mich. We expect to get more details and images of the car when it's revealed at the show.
