1952 Golden Anniversary Cadillac limousine without divider window. Car has been dry stored for years.  Car is totally complete with all mouldings, trim, foot rests, fender shirts, hubcaps, mechanical parts, and interior. True mileage is unknown. Clear Florida title.

This is a great car to complete a restoration on. It is solid, and includes all original parts. The body is in good rust-free condition, although the floor pans and spare tire well in the trunk have the usual rust damage and will need some metal work. During transport on a dolly the lower quarter of each front fender was pushed in from the dolly and the stainless steel rocker trim was damaged. The car had been undercoated well and there is no outer body rust damage. The body is straight other than the mentioned front lower fenders. All doors open and close perfectly and body lines line up with even spacing. The frame is in very good condition; no rust other than light surface rust in the back in the vicinity of the fuel tank. Chrome: Other than the front lower rocker trim damage that will need to be straightened, the trim is all pretty good. Front bumper is in good original condition. Rear bumper will need to be rechromed. Front grill is decent, with some flaking on the bottom bar. An extra original 1952 replacement grill is included to make 1 good original grill. Glass is good. Headliner is good with exception of a minor tear in the lower sail panel on the right side. Upholstery has been replaced at some point in the past but is in good condition. There is no carpet. Paint is good but could use a good buffing. Tires are good whitewalls.

Original 331 engine and transmission removed; both were operational at time of removal and have been in dry storage. The engine would smoke some and the transmission worked fine but leaked. All parts have been saved. A used Chevy 350/350 has been roughed into place and includes older Chevy exhaust manifolds that will clear the original steering column and linkages. Engine can easily be removed for original drivetrain to be installed if you wish to restore to original condition. The power steering box was rebuilt by Lares Corp and reinstalled. Brakes have new spring kits and flex hoses, but brakes all need to be bleed. Hydraulic power windows work, although one line has a leak.

Car will need to moved on a flatbed or a large car trailer. The vehicle is 20 feet long and the wheelbase will not fit on a standard car trailer as is typically available through the rental chains. Located in St Augustine, Florida. Will not ship or sell overseas. Paypal deposit and a certified bank check that clears will get you this awesome car.  Car can be temporarily stored for a few weeks as you make arrangements for transport. Feel free to contact with any question. The car is for sale locally as well and I will reserve the option to cancel bids and remove this posting if it sells through another venue.

Cadillac CTS-V spotted with big exhaust, new grille?

Thu, 20 Feb 2014

If you thought Cadillac was content to leave its twin-turbocharged Vsport as the range-topping CTS, think again. Behold, our first good glimpse at the next-generation Cadillac CTS-V sedan, sporting more aggressive styling (somewhere under there), meaty quad-exhaust pipes, and what very well could be a new face for the V-badged Caddies.
Creating an all-new grille design seems like an awful lot of work just for a prototype, so it's very possible that the vertical-bar treatment you see here could make its way into production. Our spy photographers have pointed out that they've seen this same sort of grille treatment on prototypes for the smaller ATS-V sedan, and we've heard V-series models may soon have greater differentiation from the standard vehicles that sired them - that seems especially necessary if Cadillac insists on expanding this whole Vsport range.
Regardless of how its front end looks, the CTS-V ought to be a real monster. Industry sources say we can expect to see a supercharged version of General Motors' 6.2-liter V8 under the Caddy's hood, and considering the current car already makes 556 horsepower and 551 pound-feet of torque, we wouldn't be surprised to see a decent increase in both of those numbers. After all, one of the CTS-V's main competitors, the Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG, is currently putting out 550 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. Could this mean a 600-hp Cadillac is on the horizon?

2016 Cadillac CTS-V First Drive [w/video]

Fri, Jul 31 2015

A million insects lost their lives today. Boxelder bugs and mayflies making the ultimate sacrifice in Elkhart Lake, their carapaces no buffer against a rocketing rectangle of safety glass. Their bodies gorily streaking into spangles along the diamond-faceted face of the Cadillac CTS-V. Road America is a four-mile ribbon of pavement snaking its way through the emerald center of the country's northern heartland. Since the 1950s it's seen uncountable fields of diverse racing machinery rocket over its hills and around its 14 corners. I would imagine that on those occasions the tramping of onlookers and hubbub of vehicles, both competitive and commonplace, would dissuade a great number of our six-legged friends from making their way onto the track. But today it's just me turning laps. Inconceivably just one journalist, driving the baddest roadgoing Cadillac ever made, on one of the loveliest circuits America has ever carved out. So big-winged bugs made it out to me in a vast array and a tragic sum, and I drilled through them oblivious to anything but one of the greatest days of driving I've ever had. Cadillac has turned its CTS-V from a performance sedan to a monster. For 2016 Cadillac has turned its CTS-V from a performance sedan to a monster worthy of the carnage described above. The words "epic" and "awesome" are hilariously overused on the Internet, but in the case of the CTS-V's 6.2-liter supercharged V8, their literal meanings are fitting. The capacity to produce 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque is astounding. Feeling those outputs come to growling life under my foot arch, uncorks different reactions in my brain as the day wears on: first trepidation, next cautious optimism, finally red-eyed bloodlust. A glance at the power and torque curves will show you that the charged V8 behaves more like a naturally aspirated thing than a turbo'd on/off switch. Peak torque arrives at 3,600 rpm, horsepower at 6,400, giving the engine lovely, linear power delivery. Even with top torque happening near the middle of the tach, there's no small amount of the stuff when the engine first spins up, so launching all 4,145 pounds of Detroit iron still feels exotic. Launching all 4,145 pounds of Detroit iron still feels exotic. On the roads around Wisconsin, using all of the available power is hardly advisable, but I have no trouble driving this fast car slowly (sort of).
