I DON’T CARE HOW NICE OR HOW LOW MILEAGE THE OTHER ESCALADES ARE THAT YOU’RE CONSIDERING….THIS ONE IS NICER. NO HIDDEN PROBLEMS, NO RATTLES/CLUNKS/SQUEAKS, JUST A PERFECT RIDE.

Here's the deal:

-- This is a 2007 Cadillac Escalade 8-passenger ESV AWD Autoride in pearl white metallic with black leather interior. It has 96,xxx original certified miles, has been serviced properly and regularly at the same Cadillac dealer since new with proof of same, and has a clean title with no issues. This is a ONE OWNER Escalade! This truck has NEVER had any bodywork or accidents, not even to the bumpers. --

-- Exterior 9.95 out of 10 – Nearly new condition paint, body, and trim. No (none!) dings, scuffs, or scratches. This Escalade looks amazing, with a deep glossy shine to the paint. It even looks great under florescent light in a garage. Please keep in mind you are viewing this truck without any sort of detailing...just a hand-wash, vacuum, and wipe down in my garage. No polish, no wax, no carpet shampoo, no leather conditioning, NOTHING! --

-- Lower side-body moldings, wheel wells, and engine bay are clean and shiny. Looks like a new car from any angle. Rubber, chrome, trim, glass, alloy wheels are in mint condition. No oxidation, fade, or wear. --

-- The body panels are perfectly straight. --

-- Every area on the truck is clean; the inner edges and undersides of the hood, the doorjambs, the INSIDES of the hood and trunk, the inner front edges of the doors, everywhere. All the usual areas that, over time, get discolored, accumulate leaves and dirt, and even on low mileage SUV’s are dirty, are spotless and in mint condition on this truck....without a detailing! --

-- This Escalade wears Cadillac OEM triple-chromed 22” wheels, and does not have the usual pitting/flaking to the chrome faces that you get at this age/mileage. The tires are pretty much worn out. But at the BIN price I will include a good used set of matching Bridgestone 285/45/22 all-season tires that have about 65% tread remaining. --

-- Interior 9.9 out of 10 - The interior including seating and door leather, headliner, seat padding, dash, console, and carpets are in fantastic ‘as-new’ condition. No cracks or rips, and almost zero wear or creases on the leather anywhere. The seats look and feel new. Everything is and spotless. You can’t even tell that anyone has been inside the truck! --

-- The door panels and trim are also in near-new condition, like the rest of the truck. --

-- More of the great interior --

-- Even the hatch is like new. --

-- Electrical 10 out of 10 - All lights, switches, radio, windows, wipers, seat motors, seat memories, heaters, rear defogger, moonroof, and power mirrors work perfectly. >-- The HVAC system is fast to respond, and both front and rear A/C are icy cold while the heat is scalding hot. LIKE NEW! --

-- This Escalade ESV is hard loaded with options including; eight-passenger seating, heated front and rear seats, cooled front seats, heated steering wheel, bi-xenon headlights, factory DVD entertainment system with two ceiling mounted LCD screens, two ADDITIONAL headrest DVD players/LCD screens, satellite radio, running boards, 22” factory chrome wheels, third-row folding seats, factory DVD navigation & backup camera, rear parking sensors, towing package, remote start, and much much more. --

-- Mechanical 10 out of 10 - Engine starts, idles, runs, and revs to redline in every gear smooth and strong. Transmission is smooth and glides perfectly into the gears. This SUV runs at high speed with no vibrations or noises. There are no leaks of any kind. --

-- This Escalade ESV is equipped with the Autoride self-leveling option (working perfectly unlike most of them at this age), all-wheel drive, traction control, stability control, and TPMS also working perfectly. --

-- The 6.2 litre 403HP V8 engine is strong and VERY eager to run, transmission smooth and ready to surge forward at any RPM to move you past slower traffic. Brakes are solid and pedal feel is firm. Suspension is tight like new, steering nicely weighted with no play in the box, and alignment (including thrust angle for steering wheel centering) perfect. ZERO leaks or noises. This Escalade drives and handles like new, and has never been off-road. --

-- Just had a 95K mile fluid/filter service and engine oil. Also has new wiper blades all around, chassis lube points greased, and more for over $500. This was all preventative routine maintenance…there was nothing wrong with this truck whatsoever! It has two remote fobs, a spare key, all books, nav DVD, DVD entertainment system remote, and more. And look at the condition of the engine bay for 96K miles! --

-- With only 96K miles, it does not have any problems on the road. Ready to roll for its new owner. Fully inspected with everything in fantastic condition. -

-- If someone selects the buy-it-now option, I will include the following; the good used set of Bridgestone 285/45/22 all-season tires mounted and balanced. A full detail including engine bay, hatch, and carpet shampoo worth $200. I’ll also include a complete set of carpeted OEM floor mats, and I'll also include ToughGuard paint protectant. This stuff is simply amazing for durability, as it will last up to five YEARS. Dealers charge up to $695 for this stuff. That’s well over $1500 worth of stuff! --

-- Nits: NOTHING. How a 96K mile SUV can have zero issues or problems is beyond me. But I'm telling you, the first person to see or drive this Escalade will buy it……it’s ridiculously nice. --

-- I have great feedback, and sold many Audis, Acuras, and Benzes that the new owners are thrilled with. They and others have offered to act as references to verify that I am honest in my descriptions of the cars I sell, and you are welcome to contact them. --

All-new 2019 Cadillac XT4 crossover debuts in New York

Wed, Mar 28 2018

Cadillac spent years and years improving its mainline sedans, the CTS and ATS, turning them into awfully good impressions of BMWs from a few years before. The thing is, great sedans aren't selling, and crossovers sure are. Cadillac's XT5 is the only crossover in the lineup, something that's had American Cadillac dealers gnashing their teeth and wailing — although anyone they can upsell into an Escalade can staunch the bleeding. That brings us to the new XT4, which is smaller than the XT5 but even sharper than its bigger sibling. Let's take a closer look at this new two-row luxury crossover. For one, it's based on what Cadillac calls a unique platform. That may be true, technically, although it's likely related to the Equinox/Terrain on some level. Platforms are becoming quite flexible: Look at Volkswagen's MQB, under everything from Euro hatches smaller than our Golf to the three-row Atlas. Whatever else it is underneath the skin, all XT4s will share one powertrain: the corporate 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four, paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission. View 14 Photos The engine puts out a healthy 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, putting it just a hair underneath its closest domestic rival, the Lincoln MKC with the 2.0-liter EcoBoost. Of course, the 2.3-liter MKC beats the XT4 handily, but that's another story. Power is produced with the help of a twin-scroll turbocharger. All-wheel drive is available, with a driver-selectable rear axle disconnect to save a small amount of rolling friction. Cadillac estimates it'll be good for 30 MPG on the freeway, but we haven't seen official results to confirm that. A few other changes that'll affect driving: electro-hydraulic brake assist, a first for Cadillac and mainly a fuel-saving measure; and Continuous Damping Control, which alters the damper's valve continuously based on a number of parameters. It's almost certainly used here because it's lighter and less expensive than air suspension or MagneRide, and it is optional on XT4. CDC or no, all XT4s utilize a front strut and five-link rear suspension. All XT4s also ride on 18-inch wheels in various designs. The trim strategy is mildly interesting. The base model is the Luxury, and then you can choose a Sport (black exterior trim, unique wheels) or a Premium Luxury (bright trim and satin-brushed accents). The interior options are suitably upscale and premium, and we'll have more to say about them a little later when we can see this car up close.

C7 Corvette won't spawn new Cadillac XLR [w/video]

Fri, 23 Aug 2013

Between the new 2014 Chevy Corvette Stingray and the even newer Cadillac Elmiraj Concept shown off at Pebble Beach, we were already expecting some sort of chatter of a Cadillac XLR redux. During an in-depth C7 Corvette discussion with Tadge Juechter, the car's chief engineer, Fox News asked if a Corvette-based, Bowling Green-built Cadillac will be built off the C7. Non-spoiler alert: the answer is no.
Juechter says that General Motors has "no intent" on transforming this car into a Cadillac product since the C7 has been optimized for the Corvette buyer, a consumer that's generally a different sort of person than a Cadillac intender who might also be cross-shopping a Mercedes-Benz SL-Class or BMW 6 Series.
While we're not ready to write off a future XLR altogether, we assume that the Corvette Cadillac experiment is most likely never going to happen again. The interview with Juechter is posted below, but the XLR discussion comes in at the 9:00 mark.

Junkyard Gem: 1997 Cadillac Catera

Sun, Jun 16 2024

GM's Cadillac Division was having a tough time in the early 1990s, with an onslaught of Lexuses and Infinitis pouring across the Pacific to steal their younger customers while high-end German manufacturers picked off their older customers. Flying an S-Class-priced model between assembly lines in Turin and Hamtramck hadn't worked out, so why not look to the European outposts of the far-flung GM Empire for the next Cadillac? That's how the Catera was born, and I have found a rare first-year example in a North Carolina car graveyard. Across the Atlantic, GM's Opel and Vauxhall were doing good business with prosperous European car buyers by selling them the sleek rear-wheel-drive Omega B (whose platform also lived beneath the Holden VT Commodore in Australia). Here was a genuine German design that competed with success against BMW and Audi on their home turf! So, the Omega B was Americanized and renamed the Catera. Opel wasn't a completely unknown brand to Americans at the time, since its cars were sold here with their own badging through Buick dealerships from the middle 1950s through the late 1970s (for a much shorter period, American Pontiac dealers attempted to sell Vauxhalls). Even after that, plenty of Opel DNA showed up in the products of U.S.-market GM divisions. The Catera was by far the most affordable Cadillac for 1997, with an MSRP starting at $29,995 (about $59,113 in 2024 dollars). Being a genuine German car, it looked much more convincingly European than the DeVille ($36,995), Eldorado ($37,995) and Seville ($39,995). Inspired by the ducks on the Cadillac emblem (they were really supposed to be martlets, mythical birds with no feet and occasionally lacking beaks), Cadillac's marketers went after youthful car shoppers with a whimsical animated duck named Ziggy. For the 21st century, the birds were removed from the Cadillac emblem in order to attract California buyers under 45 years of age. As we all know, the Catera flopped hard in the marketplace. What sold well in Europe turned out not to translate so well in in North America, especially when bearing the badges of such a historically prestigious brand. The Catera's engine was a 54-degree 3.0-liter V6 rated at 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet. Just as had been the case with its predecessor, the Allante, no manual transmission was available.
