WOW! This car was brought to the east coast in April of 2012 from Arizona (Coulter Cadillac - still in business) and has virtually NO RUST! Included are dealer's new car check list, owners manual and other unique paperwork from the Phoenix, Arizona based Cadillac dealer. I feel that the low mileage of 41,300 on the odometer was truthfully verified by the previous owner. There is no concrete proof however. I am the fourth owner and purchased it from a very picky collector who only had it about ten months. I have never experienced a better riding car and I have owned MB's and several other large GM cars. Nothing rides like this which helps support the case that this really is a super low mileage car that was very well cared for and maintained regularly. The double plush brown leather upholstered seats are 99% perfect. No rips or tears, front or back. All of the wood trim is nearly perfect. All gauges, lights, cruise control and accessories work like new*. (*clock not operating but probably is an easy fix) Period correct white wall tires have 60% or more tread left. You can put your sandwich down on the engine bay and eat it right up because it is very clean under the hood. No rust or any issues in the trunk either. Full sized spare and all jacking equipment is included. This car seems to have been free of any accidents or body work but I am not a professional appraiser so please check it for your self. The paint is in good to very good condition, the retro color is very unique and this car simply MAKES PEOPLE SMILE! That makes me very happy to drive it around and have conversations with "car people". One guy actually welled up with tears as he told me his dad had the very same model, year and color! The car JUST had new rear brakes installed and has had a full tune up including oil change done in August by a certified GM mechanic. The AC was just serviced in July and the heater will keep you and your passengers warm and toasty this winter. I have kept it in an over-sized garage since day one and it has not seen ANY rain, sleet, snow or ROAD SALT at all! This car was carefully protected during the super storm Sandy and did not see a drop of water on it or in it! Seeing is believing and you can get this unbelievable example of American automotive engineering and absolute elegance if you act now. You will NOT be disappointed. Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen expands on brand's future
Tue, Mar 13 2018Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen chatted with journalists at a recent roundtable, expounding on everything from domestic racing to Chinese manufacturing. The brand's been doing a slow burn on rolling out new products and increasing sales, but admittedly, there was a lot of work to do. After closing out last year 0.8 percent down in the U.S., the domestic luxury brand is more than 5 percent up so far this year, thanks to healthy double-digit bumps for the ATS and Escalade, and increased fleet sales. Globally, the brand's doing 21 percent better. The XT5 still outsells everything, though. Asked about slow sedan sales, de Nysschen cited a few reasons, one of them "energy prices," which are low enough to fuel the crossover craze. You can also read that as another admission that Cadillac doesn't have enough crossovers to please the crowds, a fact the XT4 will soon address. Yet de Nysschen also pegged the sedan malaise on "younger consumers who really are less tuned into dynamics and handling and all of those things that used to excite enthusiasts. It's more about the way cars complement and enable their lifestyle now." He topped that with a take on U.S. roads, saying, "I also have to say it may also be influenced a little bit by the decay of America's infrastructure. When roads no longer support high-performance sport sedans and ultra-low-profile rubber, people are going to respond to it." Those latter takes seem wide of the mark. Yes, BMW is the established leader, but the Munich carmaker sold 8,806 3 Series' so far this year in all variants, compared to 2,543 ATS coupes and sedans. Mercedes-Benz has sold 8,366 C-Class models so far in all variants. As for infrastructure, yes, it's a mess, but AMG sales rocketed up nearly 50 percent in the U.S. last year, nearly 10 percent of overall Mercedes sales, and the Three-Pointed Star expects that to rise again this year. People are buying sedans and performance models. They simply aren't buying enough of them with Cadillac badges. Cadillac has no plans to go racing in Europe since the brand doesn't have the kind of presence there to justify the investment. De Nysschen said they'll stick with the Daytona Prototype International formula in the U.S. domestic scene, and continue with the tech transfer from race to road.

Thu, Sep 17 2015Lyft and Chinese on-demand transportation venture Didi Kuaidi have announced a partnership. Additionally, Didi Kuaidi is investing $100 million in Lyft. The two ridesharing companies will share technology and provide interoperability between platforms. For users, this means it will be easier to get around when traveling between the US and China. "In today's rideshare environment, where every region presents a unique set of challenges and opportunities, partnering with the homegrown leader is the winning approach to Chinese expansion," says Lyft President and co-founder John Zimmer. Beginning October 1, the one-way carsharing service will expand its boundaries beyond its current Miami service area to include neighboring Miami Beach. Cadillac will use ultracapacitors in its stop-start systems for 2016. Rather than relying on battery power to run electrical systems while the engine is not running, the utracapacitors can provide a stable flow of energy without losing lifespan to repeated cycling. Supplied by Maxwell Technologies, the ultracapacitors are also lighter than batteries and, according to Cadillac, provide smoother restarts.
