For sale here is a very nice 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible. This Innsbruck Blue Eldo runs and drives great. The top is in excellent shape and works well and fast. The top has a real glass rear window with rear glass defrost. The 500 CI V-8 runs well and the car has front-wheel drive. The trans shifts smmothly. This one is a real pleasure to drive as onlookers wave and gawk.
The body is in good shape and the Innsbuuck Blue paint is nice but not perfect. There are a few minor scratches. The undercarriage is solid as is the trunk. The trunk has new weatherstrip and a new trunk kit. No spare tire or jack. The bumpers are presentable and shine well. All of the glass is good. The radials are very roadworthy with correct Cadillac hubcaps. The doors shut well and the power latch on the trunk works well.
The interior is really quite nice. The leather seats are still decent and comfy. The door panels have been redone and carpet replaced in the correct colors by a professional shop only 2 months ago. The dash is near perfect and the guages are clear. The steering wheel is very nice.
This '76 Eldo is equipped with factory A/C but needs a compressor. The power antenna does not work. The aftermarket radio/cassette does work. Has cruise but not working. Clock not working.
The exterior stainless and brightwork shines nicely and both exterior remote mirrors are working well. The headlights work, taillights, turn signals and dash arrows, horn, courtesy lights, etc. As far as we know all guages are working (temp, oil, odometer, trip, speedo,amp,etc.).
This is a very nice and ready-to-go, driveable and enjoyable 1976 Cadillac Eldorado convertible. The top works great and the car runs well. This is truly an impressive mass of metal going down the road. Please feel free to ask any questions. Sold As-is. Personal inspection is encouraged

Join Autoblog editors for a full video tour of the 2019 Detroit Auto Show
Thu, Jan 17 2019The 2019 North American International Auto Show might have been a little more quiet than past years, but there were still some pretty major reveals, including the Toyota Supra, new Ford Explorer, Shelby GT500, Subaru WRX STI S209 and Kia Telluride. We also saw some lovely concepts like the Nissan IMs and Lexus LC Convertible. Senior Editor Alex Kierstein, Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski and Senior Green Editor John Beltz Snyder join me, Associate Editor Reese Counts — with Social Media Manager Michael Dylan Ferrara behind the camera — on a long walk through the show. We discuss cars, poke around the stands, dress a bloody wound and answer your questions in the Facebook comments. For more Detroit coverage, you can check out Autoblog's picks for the best in show, listen to our podcast or look at the best images from all the reveals. Finally, don't forget to watch Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore hand over our 2019 Technology of the Year award. GM announces 6 recalls covering nearly 720k cars
Wed, 23 Jul 2014General Motors has announced yet another sprawling recall campaign, with six separate elements covering 717,950 vehicles on US roads. At this point in 2014, it's starting to seem like there are more days with a GM recall than without. Perhaps most troubling about this latest volley, though, is that every vehicle is from the past few years, indicating that GM's quality woes may not be limited to pre-bankruptcy vehicles.
The largest element of this latest campaign covers 414,333 units, and includes the 2011 to 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, 2010 to 2012 Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain and Cadillac SRX and the 2011 to 2012 Buick Regal and LaCrosse. Only vehicles with powered, height-adjustable seats are covered. In these particular cars and crossovers, the bolt that secures the height adjuster actuator may loosen of its own accord and in some cases fall out completely. If this happens, the seats will be able to move both up and down. GM claims the vehicles are safe to drive, provided drivers don't vertically adjust their seats. This particular issue has caused one crash and three injuries.

Best and Worst GM Cars
Thu, Apr 7 2022Oh yes, because we just love receiving angry letters from devoted Pontiac Grand Am enthusiasts, we have decided to go there. Based on a heated group Slack conversation, the topic came up about the best and worst GM cars. First of all time, and then those currently on sale, and then just mostly a rambling discussion of Oldsmobiles our parents and grandparents owned (or engineered). Eventually, three of us made the video above. Like it? Maybe we can make more. Many awesome GM cars are definitely going unmentioned here, so please let us know your bests and worsts in the comments below. Mostly, it's important to note that this post largely exists as a vehicle for delivering the above video that dives far deeper into GM's greatest hits and biggest flops, specifically those from the 1980s and 1990s. What you'll find below is a collection of our editors identifying a best current and best-of-all-time choice, plus a worst current and worst-of-all-time choice. Comprehensive it is not, but again, comments. -Senior Editor James Riswick Best Current GM Vehicle Chevrolet Corvette We were flying by the seats of our pants a bit in this first outing and my notes were similarly extemporaneous. When it came time to tie it all together on camera, I failed spectacularly. Thank the maker for text, because this gives me the opportunity to perhaps slightly better explain my convoluted reasoning. I chose the C8 Corvette because it's simply overwhelmingly good, and it's merely the baseline from which this generation of Corvette will be expanded. While the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (more on that in a minute) is an amazing snapshot of GM's current performance standing and its little sibling so enraptured me that I went out and bought one, their existence is fleeting. Corvette will live on; forced-induction Cadillac sport sedans, not so much. So while all three are amazing machines when viewed in a vacuum, the Corvette stands above them as both a reflection of GM's current performance credentials and a signpost of what is to come. So, given the choice between the C8 and the 5V-Blackwing right now, I'd choose the C8. In 10 years, when the Blackwing is no longer in production and Corvette is in its 9th generation? Well, that might be a different story. Now, just pretend I said something even remotely that coherent when we get to the part of the video where I try to make an argument for the 5-V Blackwing as best GM car I've ever driven. Or just laugh at me while I ramble incoherently.
