1980 Cadillac Limo...as you can see from the pictures, this is a good restorable car. This car ran when parked a few years ago. To get it running again, the gas tank would need to be removed and cleaned, the carburetor rebuilt, total tune up and all fluids changed. Overall, this car is in decent restorable condition with most of the interior intact and in good shape with the exception of the front seat. The body is straight and there is no major damage or rust the I can see, however, there are some holes in the deck lid which I would assume are from antennas.

Rumor has it from the previous owner that this car might have belonged to the Secret Service at one time, but I have not been able to confirm such a rumor. What I do know is that with a little bit of mechanical and cosmetic work, this would make a nice car for someone! It's a good solid car, and I would think that with a little upholstery work, a good paint job and a new vinyl top, it would be looking good.

Because I do not know much more about the car and it's overally mechanical condition, I am selling it "as is, where is" with no warranty or guarantees whatsoever. Understand that this is a restoration project and not something that you'll put gas in and drive it home! GM says safety is a reason it's dropping Apple CarPlay, Android Auto

GM's embedded infotainment strategy is driven by the benefits of having a system that allows for greater integration with the larger GM ecosystem and vehicles." Â General Motors announced its intention to remove Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality from its upcoming EVs earlier this year, and internet comments sections haven't been kind since. As the first of many EVs to follow Â– the 2024 Chevrolet Blazer EV Â– hits the market, GM is expanding on its initial explanations for dropping the tech. Motor Trend spoke with Tim Babbit, GMÂ’s head of product for infotainment, to learn more. Attributed to Babbit, from the story: Â“They have stability issues that manifest themselves as bad connections, poor rendering, slow responses, and dropped connections. And when CarPlay and Android Auto have issues, drivers pick up their phones again, taking their eyes off the road and totally defeating the purpose of these phone-mirroring programs. Solving those issues can sometimes be beyond the control of the automaker.Â” Babbit suggests that a world without Apple CarPlay or Android Auto will be a safer one, as folks wonÂ’t be looking to control their infotainment systems via their phones. However, Babbit also tells MT that this theory hasnÂ’t been tested in either the lab or the real world yet. Instead of using a navigation or music-playing app powered through your phone, upcoming GM EVs will use a Google-based infotainment system called Â“UltifiÂ” that runs a ton of integrated Google apps. Google Maps will be the native navigation app in the system; youÂ’ll be able to log in to Spotify or other apps to load your music up, and so on. The idea here is that youÂ’ll have all the same apps that were on your phone available but integrated within the infotainment system instead, and you'll be able to use voice controls to control every last bit of it with no need to reach for a phone. That sounds amenable in theory, but how consumers react to the removal of a feature that they know and love now is a risky gamble.

2014 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced [w/poll]

The 2014 North American International Auto Show is right around the corner, which means it's high time we found out which cars and trucks would be finalists for the prestigious North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards.
The finalists - three in cars and three in three trucks/utilities - are dominated by American brands, with two-thirds of the finalists hailing from either General Motors or Chrysler (don't worry Ford, there's always next year), while outliers from Mazda and Acura can be found in each contest.
