Lowered, Custom High Dollar 20" Lexani Wheels This week Canyon State Classics brings to market a very cool 1965 Cadillac coupe in great condition inside and out. This car has traveled only 97,000 miles and always been a west coast car and is rust free. The car was fully gone through and tuned up, fuel tank dropped and restored, new radiator, brake system overhauled, static lowered 2" and fresh wheels and tires installed. This car is as nice and reliable as the day it rolled off the line. The car also received a nice cosmetic freshening up with all new interior as well as a repaint in its original color of Sierra Gold with a fresh black vinyl top. Don't miss your chance to own one very cool Coupe DeVille! The following is a list of options as this Cadillac is currently equipped: -Original 429ci Cadillac V8 Engine (Rebuilt) -Automatic Transmission -Power Steering -Power Brakes -Power Windows -Power Antenna -AM Radio -Custom 20" Lexani Wheels -New Performance Tires The exterior on
the car is super solid and very nice base/clear paint job.
The body on the car is straight as an arrow and the Sierra Gold paint has
been buffed to a nice shine. The paint job is fresh and has been nicely wet sanded and buffed to a high gloss shine. The car was completely de-trimmed when painted and done right. The underside of the car is all original and super
clean with no rust or replaced pans or sheet metal. All glass is ORIGINAL and
crack and chip free The rubber seals are all brand new. The chrome and trim is
all original and in great shape since it has been protected by the dry, warm
California climate. The interior is
the highlight of this Cadillac. The interior is 100% redone, and looks
fantastic. The cloth and vinyl seats and door panels are in very good condition
and look awesome in the two tone black and tan combination. The seats do not
have a single tare or ware spot. The foam is also still very soft, unlike some
other original interiors. The door panels are all in very nice condition and
the cloth inserts are in great shape and are not dried worn at
all. The dash is in great shape and the original paint, chrome and stainless
trim still retain a brilliant shine, and the dash surface is perfect as well. The
headliner and visors are brand new. Turn signals, lights, gauges, and all other
switches are working correctly. The trunk is also
in very nice redone condition. There is a custom done trunk mat and spare tire is present. Trunk floor is in awesome condition as pictured and has never been rusty or patched. Mechanically, this
Cadillac runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. It
really does not feel like a 50yr old car. It drives as good now as the day it
rolled of the lot. The 429 V8 is very strong and supplies the car with ample
power and purrs like a kitten. The carb idles well and was
just recently rebuilt. The cooling system is great and the car runs cool and
idles well. The brakes have been gone through and a new master cylinder was
installed. A brand new exhaust system was also just installed. Another nice
thing about this Deville is that a high dollar complete engine compartment
restoration was just completed with everything from the block down to the
generator was cleaned and repainted to like new condition. A full tune up was
also done at that time with new hoses, belts, plugs, wires, rotor, and cap
installed as well as new valve cover gaskets. Transmission was also just serviced and the car is tight and leak free. 6 luxury car brands to watch in 2024
Tue, Jan 30 20242023 was a healthy year for the auto industry, and even with incentives returning and dealer lots filling up, there's plenty to like about the market if you build luxury automobiles, and we expect 2024 to be more of the same, which makes luxury-segment rivalries all the more interesting. Top luxury car brand rivalries? Well, that sounds downright uncivilized. But we know better, don't we? And when every quarterly sales update is an opportunity to remind somebody else that they bought the wrong status symbol, well, who can resist? Certainly not the diehard customers who fly their favorite brands' banners high. Read more: Auto sales: Industry records best year since 2019 Read more: 2023 auto sales and 2024 preview: Ford Bronco vs. Jeep Wrangler This is a tricky segment to define, but essentially, we're looking at luxury car brands with depth to their portfolios and dealerships that exist to attract real-world customers. The Bentleys, Rolls-Royces and McLarens of the world are luxury cars, certainly, but we're more concerned with brands that have a bit more mass appeal — manufacturers who treat supply constraints as fiascos rather than features. If you disagree with our selections, feel free to let us know in the comments. And since we're mostly concerned with finishing order, the luxury brands and totals featured here may change as new data come in throughout 2024. Due to the wild swings of the past several years, we're treating 2023 as the baseline by which we'll measure sales performance. And rather than rank brands vs. their finishing order in 2022, when supply-chain and inflationary issues still played havoc with sales figures, we're starting 2024 off with a clean slate. The mainstream luxury segment is always a dogfight, but with their varied approaches to electrification all of the major luxury brands are in the midst of reshaping the premium landscape. Who is doing it right? Well, according to U.S. shoppers, the usual suspects are up to their old tricks.
GM recalls 3.8 million vehicles in North America due to braking issue
Wed, Sep 11 2019WASHINGTON — General Motors Co said Wednesday it was recalling 3.46 million U.S. pickup trucks and SUVs to address a vacuum pump issue that could make braking more difficult and that has been linked to 113 accidents and 13 injuries. The recall covers 2014-2018 model year vehicles, including some Cadillac Escalade, Chevrolet Silverado, Chevrolet Tahoe, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Suburban and GMC Yukon vehicles. In late June, GM recalled 310,000 vehicles in Canada for the same issue. GM did not immediately explain why the Canadian recall occurred more than two months before it called back the vehicles in the United States. The recall was triggered because the amount of vacuum created by the vacuum pump may decrease over time, GM told the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) in documents posted on Wednesday. The NHTSA opened a preliminary investigation into the issue last November, and said it had reports of nine related crashes and two injuries. It provided GM in July with additional field reports that prompted the automaker to open an investigation. GM said it could affect braking in "rare circumstances." The NHTSA said in a statement the "vehicles may experience brake boost failure, which would require increased brake pedal effort, leading to a hard brake pedal feel, and potentially increased stopping distance." GM said dealers will reprogram the electronic brake control module to improve how the system utilizes the hydraulic brake boost assist function when vacuum assist is depleted. GM said the vacuum assist pump, which is lubricated with engine oil that flows into the pump through a filter screen, can in some cases lose effectiveness over time, as debris such as oil sludge can accumulate on the filter screen. GM told NHTSA that prior model years used a different brake assist system design, and vehicles manufactured after 2018 were not equipped with the affected pump design. Separately, GM said on Wednesday it is recalling 270,000 additional U.S. vehicles in three smaller recalls, including 177,000 2018 Chevrolet Malibu cars with 1.5L turbo engines because an error in the engine control module software may result in the fuel injectors being disabled.
Cadillac follows Lincoln in going back to proper names
Thu, Dec 12 2019Who else is excited for the 2025 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham? Right, don't all excitedly jump up and down at the same time. May make Earth wobble. In an interview with multiple outlets (and brought to our attention by Reuters and CNET Roadshow) that mostly covered Cadillac's electrification plans, Cadillac President Steve Carlisle indicated that the brand's Euro-style alphanumeric naming strategy will mercifully be coming to an end. CNET indicates it'll correspond with the rollout of new EV models, but we wouldn't be surprised to see it happen even earlier. Lincoln's similar decision has already proven to be successful, and it's always seemed like a matter of time before Cadillac followed suit given the two brands' similar history and market segments. The current naming convention of CT(number) for cars and XT(number) for crossovers was hatched in 2014 and is widely credited to former Cadillac president Johan de Nysschen, who had previously transformed Infiniti's naming convention into something similarly Germanic. That the man previously worked at Audi should be a surprise to no one. While people have generally been confused by the switch, we can't say it's any worse than the old CTS, XTS, ATS and SRX business that came before. At least de Nysschen's system had a hierarchy. Yet, for a brand once known for grand, stately cars and equally grand, stately names like Eldorado, Seville and, yes, Escalade, a European-style alphanumeric strategy never seemed right. It was at least indicative of Cadillac's constant attempts to emulate German brands rather than setting its own, uniquely American course (as Lincoln has done recently). That the most American and successful of its lineup, the Escalade, hung onto its name through thick-and-thin speaks volumes. So, will we really be seeing that '25 Fleetwood Brougham? That does seem rather doubtful. Beyond Eldorado, there's not a lot out there in the back catalog that doesn't reek of crusty old country club luxury. Or was garbage. Perhaps sampling from Cadillac's concept car file with something like Elmiraj? Whatever it comes up with, though, how could it be worse than simultaneously selling an XT5 and XTS?
