Hello and Thank You for viewing my auction.  I am listing this beautiful vehicle today for a friend who wants to sell this to help with his new business venture.  If you are viewing this auction you already know what this vehicle is and how collectible the 1964 is.  I have owned a couple of 1964's myself and they are beautiful cars!  The 1964 is the last year of the "classic" style with the fins and the first year of the "429" v8 engine making 340 horsepower and making it a unique one year model.  Although the 1963 looked similar it carried the older "390" v8 engine instead of the new 429.  This car is a very rare color combination as well with the Sierra Gold (code 46) exterior and a contrasting light sandalwood interior.  The vehicle is very solid and I have personally driven around in it myself and it is a traffic stopper!  It is also a factory a/c car which is all intact and was working about 5 months ago but he can not recall if it still blows cold or not.  The top works flawlessly as well.  The vehicle is in "driver condition" meaning you can drive it as it is and it is will draw crowds everywhere you go and it is very presentable in its current condition.  You could also take it to the next level and give this vehicle the full restoration it deserves.  The original carburetor was  recently rebuilt by a reputable shop here in Jacksonville Florida.  He has priced the reserve at a very low price to sell quickly.  International bidders are encouraged to bid and we do have a port here in Jacksonville Florida.  I have a friend who I have personally used to ship a few vehicles "RORO" service on a ship whom gives me great rates if you need a rate price please let me know.   You can feel free to contact the owner and his name is Leo 904 651 2614 for any further questions. I have included some information from Hagerty collector car values to give you and idea of what a great value this is.  This company has been around for along time and does not "over inflate" the prices of vehicles and you can actually go and look at charts they include to show value growths over a period of time. He has priced the reserve in the "number 4" condition price range.  There are many qualities on this that are "number 3" condition like newer paint etc.   There are things on this vehicle that make it better than a "number 4" like for instance..it does not have a cracked dash and there are no missing pieces.  So where most people would describe it as a "number 3" vehicle I like to under promise and over deliver and have a happy new owner!   To sum it all up..if you are looking for the $70,000 fully restored convertible, please move on to the next vehicle because this is not it.  If you are looking for a nice looking driver that you can tinker with and make perfect one day then BID!  The  value on these old converible's is climbing quickly and a far better investment than anything out there right now from stocks to bonds because they simply do not make them any longer! Title is clean and will be transferred when the transaction is finalized.  I can help load onto transport truck but all transportation fees are the responsibility of the buyer.  Don't let this deal pass you by..Good Luck and Happy Bidding!

1959 Cadillac Eldorado and more featured in latest 'Forza Horizon 4' car pack

Thu, Feb 14 2019

It's that time again, time for another Forza Horizon 4 car pack. This one is a bit bittersweet, because while there are some great cars, it will also be the last one included with the Car Pass, which covered every downloadable car pack for a discounted price. So either we won't see many additional cars in the coming months, or we'll be paying extra for them. On a brighter note, the cars in this pack are cool, particularly the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible. Threading this aircraft carrier of a car through British streets should be highly entertaining. It's also stylish as all get-out. There are more appropriately sporty cars coming, too, including the 1994 Honda Prelude Si, 1994 Nissan Fairlady Z Version S Twin Turbo and the all-new TVR Griffith. Some reward cars being added come from the role-playing video game Final Fantasy XV. They're the Quartz Regalia Type F and Type D. The Type F is another big luxury convertible in the vein of the Cadillac, and the Type D is the monster truck version. The car pack is available now, and is free to owners of the $29.99 Car Pass. The individual car packs are available for $6.99 separately, and individual cars are even available for $2.99 a piece if you only want specific ones. 2019 Cadillac Escalade ESV Drivers' Notes Review | Old, but not antiquated

Thu, Oct 18 2018

When the Cadillac Escalade debuted 20 years ago, car-based crossovers were just getting their start. The Escalade was and still is basically a Chevy Tahoe with new styling and a nicer interior. That's especially true today, as our test car has an interior that looks like it was lifted straight from a Cadillac CTS rather than a Chevy Silverado. Crossovers may be more comfortable and fuel efficient, but they can't hold a candle to towing and payload capabilities of a body-on-frame SUV. If you need to haul seven people and a full-size Airstream in quiet comfort, few options are better than the Escalade. This week, our tester was a long-wheelbase Escalade ESV. That means substantially more room both behind the third row and with the seats folded. The Premium Luxury trim sits in the middle of the lineup, but it still comes with a lot of goodies. Features include a Bose audio system, a digital instrument cluster, a heads-up display, heated and cooled leather seats, a heated steering wheel, tri-zone climate control, Magnetic Ride Control and a stout 6.2-liter V8. Options include upgraded leather for $2,000 and polished 22-inch wheels for $600. All in, this Escalade was just shy of $100,000. Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore: The Escalade is arguably Cadillac's best vehicle. It's a bold, body-on-frame SUV that feels decadently all-American. The Escalade is still contemporary even though it's been years since the ute has had a major redesign. I enjoyed a couple nights in this luxury bruiser. The V8 is powerful, and the 10-speed is a smart improvement. The command seating position is always welcome for me. The interior is nicely laid out, and the materials all look and feel upscale. Not a huge fan of Cadillac's touchscreen (no longer officially called CUE), but it seems to be getting better or I'm getting used to it. Love the Escalade's exterior design. It's dramatic, imposing and gives Cadillac something that's a true style-leader. All that being said, I'll be interested to see how Caddy iterates the Escalade. The Lincoln Navigator is an excellent product and a worthy adversary. Cadillac would be wise to keep its SUV flagship fresh. Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder: I was not excited to get into the Escalade. This is really not my cup of tea. I used to love the Chevy Suburban, but that fondness has languished as my tastes evolved as these huge vehicles have modernized, losing the charm that drew me to them when I was younger.

Man trapped in Cadillac XLR for 14 hours after battery dies

Thu, Sep 13 2018

A 75-year old Cleveland man ended up trapped in his 2006 Cadillac XLR for 14 hours last month, according to a story reported by the Detroit Free Press. The owner of the car, Peter Pyros, hopped into his roadster to back out onto his driveway, but he quickly learned that the battery was dead. He was "trapped" because the doors use an electric button to activate the door latch to open the door. Since the battery was dead, the buttons did nothing. Now, GM planned for an eventuality like this by placing a manual door release handle on the ground next to the seat. It's marked with a red diagram of the driver-side door opening. There's also a section about it in the owner's manual. The only problem here, was that Pyros says he didn't know the release was there, and he didn't have his owner's manual in the car. Because of this, Pyros may not have made it out alive if not for a neighbor coming to his rescue. "I came to the conclusion that I was going to die ... I was at peace with it. I asked God to help me twice, then I said, 'OK, God if this is the way I'm supposed to die, I will die,'" Pyros said to reporters. There's every chance he could have died in the car, too. Temperatures in Cleveland hit 77 degrees the day he was in the car, and he said it was unbearably hot and difficult to breathe after only 30 minutes sealed inside. Pyros reportedly tried yelling, pounding on and even trying to break the car's windows without success. At one point, Pyros wrote a note to his nephew explaining what happened if he ended up dying. What eventually saved him was a curious neighbor who came to investigate after he noticed his garage door was still open late at night. His neighbor called the police after he found him in the car, and emergency personnel actually ended up charging his car's battery up enough to get the electric door release to work. Of course, after everything settled down, there are now lawyers involved. They're going after GM, with an argument accusing the automaker of not making the emergency latch more obvious both in the car and in the owner's manual. GM doesn't appear to be having any of it. Here's its statement on the matter: "Because this varies by make and model, drivers should review the door lock section of their owner's manual, and follow up with their dealer or customer assistance center if they have any questions," GM spokesman Tom Wilkinson wrote to the Free Press. This type of door release isn't particularly uncommon for GM vehicles.
