UP FOR AUCTION TODAY IS QUITE POSSIBLY ONE OF THE SLICKEST CUSTOM 63 CADI'S ON THE PLANET !!" I GUESS THAT I SHOULD START BY SAYING I'VE HAD MY EYES ON THIS CAR FOR A LONG TIME NOW . PROBABLY AROUND 25 YEARS.
IT ALL STARTED AS MANY OF US KNOW. THE CAR SAT GATHERING DUST AND AGING WITH AN OWNER WHO WASN'T SELLING. AS TIME PASSED I'D OCASIONALLY DROP BY TO VISIT, WITH THE CONVERSATION ALWAYS ENDING IN "NO I BETTER HOLD ON TO IT". ANYWAY SOME 12 OR SO YEARS AGO THE OWNER CAME TO MY SHOP LOOKING TO BUY A CHEVY ENGINE. WELL JUST SO HAPPEN I HAD ONE AND WITH NEGOTIATION AND A HANDSHAKE LATER A DEAL WAS MADE AND THE CADI HAD A NEW HOME.
AFTERWARDS WITH A FRESH BATTERY AND PRIMED CARB WITH A COUPLE OF TAPS. I FIRED THE OLD LAND YACHT UP AND DROVE IT OUT OF THE GROUND THAT IT HAD SETTLED INTO FOR SO MANY YEARS.
SINCE THEN I HAVE DONE A MAJOR RESTO AND CUSTOMIZATION TO THE CAR. I WANT TO LET THE PICS DO A LOT OF THE SPEAKING FOR ME DUE TO THE EXTENT OF ALL THE UPTAKING IT TOOK TO GET THE CAR WHERE IT'S AT NOW. THE BODY HAS COUNTLESS MAN HOURS OF BODYLINE FITMENT AND BLOCKING OF ALL THE PANELS. THE CAR IS LASOR STRAIGHT WITH NO RIPPLES OR DINGS. MOST IMPORTANTLY THE CAR WAS AND IS " RUST FREE !! " SOLID ROCKERS,FLOOR BOARDS, TRUNK ,ETC... IT'S GLASS SMOOTH WITH HOUSE OF KOLORS KANDIES BURIED IN CLEAR. TRULY IMMACULATE !!
ALL STAINLESS EXCELLENT. GLASS IN GREAT SHAPE. ALL RUBBER AND SEALS NEWLY REPLACED MINUS WINDSHIELD SEAL, WHICH DIDN'T NEED REPLACEMENT.THE BUMPERS COULD BE RECHROMED IF YOUR REALLY PICKY. PERSONALLY I DIDN'T SEE THE NEED.
THE ENGINE IS THE FACTORY CORRECT 390 CI WITH A/C AND 10.5 /1 COMPRESSION. FULLY REBUILT NUMBERS MATCH. TRANSMISSION REBUILT AS WELL. SOME STEERING AND SUSPENSION COMPONENTS SUCH AS BALL JOINTS AND BUSHINGS HAVE BEEN REPLACED. POWER BRAKES REBUILT AS WAS POWER STEERING..ETC... HAS A CUSTOM SPOTLIGHT, A TRAIN TYPE HORN AND FLAME THROWER EXHAUST. REALLY COOL AT CAR SHOWS AND CRUISES, TALK ABOUT FAMILY FUN !!! THE CAR RIDES WELL AND HAS A GREAT STANCE. LOW AND SLOW, BUT IT LOVES TO BOGGIE DOWN THE HIGHWAY . SHE FEELS LIKE 80 MPH IS HER THING OR MAYBE THAT'S JUST BECAUSE THE SPEED LIMIT WAS THAT BACK IN THE DAY. THERE IS A CUSTOM HIDDEN STEREO IN GLOVE BOX WITH CD PLAYER AND KICKER AMP WITH M.B QUART MIDS AND HIGHS.
THE ORIGINAL OWNER KEPT ALOT OF RECIEPTS RANGING FROM SEVICING AND OIL CHANGES, COOL DOCUMENTATION.I THINK I'VE COVERED MOST EVERYTHING. SO NOW I NEED TO LET YOU KNOW WHY I'M SELLING. AT THE FIRST OF THIS YEAR I ALMOST LOST MY LIFE AND WAS IN I.C.U. FOR A TIME. IT'S BEEN A LONG TOUGH ROAD FOR ME SINCE.
BUT BLESSED AND BY GOD'S WILL I'M STILL HERE. MY CHILDREN NEED ME AS I THEM. BEING A SINGLE FATHER AND RAISING MY 4 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER I MUST BE ABLE TO PROVIDE FOR THEM AND MYSELF. SO IT'S TIME TO LET SOMEONE ELSE ENJOY THIS CADILLAC AS MUCH AS I HAVE. THERE ARE JUST A FEW SMALL DETAILS I'M UNABLE TO COMPLETE AT THIS TIME LIKE THE SEATS AND A/C ETC... REALLY THAT'S ABOUT IT. SO MY LOSS YOUR GAIN.
BECAUSE I REALIZE THAT IT'S UNREALISTIC TO RECOVER ALL THE HOURS AND LOVE THAT MY PASSION HAS PUT INTO IT THE BUYER IS TRULY GETTING A MORE THAN FAIR DEAL WITH PURCHASE OF THE CAR, PLEASE NOTE!! THE BUYER IS TO ASUME " ALL SHIPPING AND HANDLING EXPENSES "!!! THE CAR IS LOCATED AT A BUSINESS JUST OFF HIGHWAY WITH LARGE PARKING LOT FOR LOADING.
ALSO A $500.00 DEPOSIT VIA PAY/PAL IS REQUIRED 48 HOURS OF AUCTIONS END. BALANCE DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OF AUCTION CLOSING VIA CASH, MONEY ORDER, OR BANK TRANSFER.
I WOULD ALSO PREFER THAT BIDDERS HAVE SOME POSITIVE FEEDBACK WITH EBAY AND PAY/PAL ACCOUNT REQUIRED. ALSO THIS CAR IS AND WILL BE ADVERTISED AND FOR SALE LOCALLY AS WELL. SO KEEP IN MIND AUCTION COULD END EARLY.." PLEASE NOTE " I MAY CONSIDER SLIGHT DROP IN PRICE IS BUYER ISN'T INTERESTED IN THE CUSTOM 22" WHEELS, TRAIN HORN OR FLAME THROWERS ON EXHAUST ?? I DO HAVE THE ORIGINAL STEEL WHEELS & HUB CAPS.....I'M NOT REALLY INTERESTED WITH TRADES BUT WOULD LISTEN. MAINLY FOR THE SIMPLE FACT AS THAT THEY WOULD HAVE TO BE SOLD AS WELL....
THANK'S SO MUCH FOR TAKING TIME TO LOOK AND LISTEN !! I CAN BE CONTACTED THROUGH EBAY AT WHICH POINT SERIOUS BIDDERS MAY AQUIRE MY PHONE NUMBERS TO QUESTION PARTICULARS. ANY ADDITIONAL PICTURES CAN BE SENT, VIEWED VIA PICTURE TEXTING ETC..

Cadillac gives enthusiasts an early look at its next high-performance sedans
Mon, Feb 1 2021Cadillac will introduce a pair of sport sedans named CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing, respectively, at 7 p.m. Eastern today (February 1). While car companies routinely drum up excitement for new models by releasing tightly-cropped or blacked-out images, Cadillac surprised us with a photo, and a TV spot that aired during the Rolex 24 at Daytona, that shows both cars in their entirety. Somewhat confusingly, the CT4-V and the CT5-V are not direct replacements for the ATS-V and the CTS-V; they're mid-range models, and they're powered, equipped, and priced accordingly. It's these flagship Blackwing variants that will pick up where the last-generation Vs left off with a significant bump in power, numerous chassis tweaks, and a more aggressive-looking design. They'll arrive in showrooms in time for the 2022 model year. Blackwing drivers won't draw unnecessary attention to themselves, because the visual changes are relatively subtle. Riding on model-specific wheels, the CT4-V Blackwing gains bigger air intakes on the front end, vents punched into the fenders, and a low-key body kit that adds a front splitter, front winglets, and a trunk-mounted spoiler. Cadillac gave the CT5-V a similar treatment, and it mounted the rear wheels on surprisingly wide tires. Cadillac pointed out the Blackwing sedans benefit from the world's fastest-reacting suspension system. It's likely the fourth evolution of its magnetic ride control technology, which it detailed in October 2020. While full specifications remain under wraps until the duo's unveiling, we know that both sedans will be available with a six-speed manual transmission. It's reasonable to assume that an automatic (likely the familiar 10-speed) will be offered as well. As for what's under the hood, our crystal ball tells us that the CT5-V will land with a V8 engine, though it won't be the short-lived twin-turbocharged Blackwing unit that gave both cars their name. Enginers might have selected an evolution of the CTS-V's 6.2-liter. As for the CT4-V, it will receive the ATS-V's 3.6-liter turbocharged V6. Both models will be exclusively available with rear-wheel-drive. Enthusiasts who want to secure an early built slot will have the chance to reserve a 2022 CT4-V Blackwing or a 2022 CT5-V Blackwing by visiting Cadillac's website shortly after the sedans are unveiled on February 1. As we previously reported, the first 250 units of each car will wear a numbered plaque on the steering wheel.
Cadillac's XT6 is not, for better or worse, a mini Escalade
Mon, Jan 21 2019In its latest attempt at reinvention, Cadillac has created a trio of admirable sedans — the ATS, CTS, and CT6 — cars that challenge or beat the competition on their own terms, and do so with audacious exterior styling rendered in a distinctly American idiom. But American customers have been ditching cars in favor of high-riding crossovers, and what Cadillac has not had up until recently is a suite of appropriately (or bizarrely) sized crossovers to offer potential consumers, something competitors have been deploying for years or even decades. And so the new, full-size(ish) three-row Cadillac XT6, unveiled officially last week at an event in Detroit, is intended to help address the premier domestic automotive luxury brand's current product shortcomings. "I guess we had so many priorities and had to decide what's the most important thing," says Andrew Smith, Cadillac's executive director of design. "We decided to approach this one from an interior perspective, to do things like provide ease of use for owners, upgrade the infotainment, and allow time for ourselves to learn lessons from the launch of XT4." The XT6 doesn't exactly break any new ground within the segment, but that's not necessarily a criticism. Though huge from a sales perspective, the two-box crossover category is not the industry's leader in beauty or innovation. Still, Caddy's most recent previous crossover, the size-Small XT4, managed to create handsome proportions and a premium appearance at first glance. The XT6 doesn't feel quite so ambitious or coherent, with a front end that is at once sneering and soft, a lengthy flank that feints at muscularity without delivering, and a rather abrupt tailgate that blends the rectilinear and the anodyne. Maybe consumers won't notice? "Our biggest challenge was giving the vehicle a character that works on this scale and platform," says Smith. "We want to make sure all of our cars feel different. We didn't want it to be a mini Escalade. No one wants a mini anything. But we wanted to give it Escalade presence, but in scale. So it's this combination of nice, and aggressive. I'm convinced we will sell more than we think we'll sell." Maybe he's right, and we definitely don't see this vehicle cannibalizing sales of the Escalade. People who want a bold Cadillac can still get that one, and will have a brand new option later this year, we expect, when a new Escalade is released.
Three automotive tech trends to watch in 2018 and beyond
Thu, Dec 28 2017Every year, technology plays a bigger and bigger role in the auto industry. To put things in perspective, 10 years ago iPod integration and Bluetooth were cutting-edge in-car innovations, and smartphones and apps weren't yet a thing since the first iPhone was only about six months old. And I can't recall anyone talking about autonomous cars. Compare that to today, with mainstream coverage of the auto industry dominated by autonomous technology, along with electrification and almost every move made by Tesla. These three topics were the most significant trends of car tech in 2017 and I believe they will continue to shape the auto industry in 2018 and beyond. Let's examine them. Full Autonomy Gets Closer to Reality While there were many developments this year that indicate we're inching closer to fully autonomous vehicles, I was behind the wheel for hours to witness one of them. In October I had the chance to test Cadillac Super Cruise on a 700-mile, 11-hour drive from Dallas to Santa Fe – and had my hands on the wheel for maybe 45 minutes max throughout the entire trip. Super Cruise is far from making the Cadillac CT6 or any GM vehicle fully autonomous, and has limitations such as functioning only on pre-mapped main highways. While it simply adds a layer of lane centering to adaptive cruise control, the technology will go a long way in making mainstream drivers more comfortable with letting machines take over. On a separate front, GM is pushing ahead with fully autonomous vehicles and announced last month that it plans to launch of fleets of self-driving robo-taxis in several urban areas in 2019. While most automakers are also in the race to make autonomous cars a reality, GM's turbocharging of its efforts appeared to be in response to Waymo, which announced just weeks earlier that its Early Rider Program in the Phoenix area would go completely driverless. The Early Rider Program launched last April, offering the public a chance to ride in Waymo's autonomous Chrysler Pacifica minivans. In this new phase of testing, Waymo is using its own employees as guinea pigs instead of the public while the vehicles operate without a human behind the wheel, and takes another giant step forward for fully autonomous driving.
