I am offering this 1963 Cadillac Convertible that I purchased from a Classic Car aficionado in Washington State who had recently purchased it from an estate auction. This distinctive Cadillac has an extremely rare color combination that was in storage for nearly 40 years as it was last registered in 1975!!!!!!!  It was stored  properly as the Floorpans, frame, trunk pan and rocker panels are original and have virtually NO RUST!  ( I intentionally did not carpet the trunk to illustrate the original rust free trunk pan and sheet metal......)Please view the photos that I have posted of the frame, floorpans and trunk pan,as the photos speak for themselves.

I have invested many thousands of dollars on this vehicles recent extensive mechanical and body restoration. The mechanical restoration was performed by Rick Johnson Auto of Naples, spearheaded by Mike/Chris and their staff that had devoted many hours in the mechanical restoration with exemplary results. Precision Collision/ Bill Polidore of Naples performed an outstanding result with the body restoration and matched the original color perfectly. Tim Schaus a local craftsman  hand painted the grill to restore it to its near original condition, most of the photos were taken professionally by "Photo Jack, Artistic Imagery" a well known highly respected local photographer.

I went to great lengths to restore this exceptional vehicle by using as many NOS parts, paint, trim and mechanical items as much as possible to maintain originality. This exceptional vehicle is rare, unusual and is distinctively attractive, for the person that desires the look of prestige, admiring looks, attention and who wants to do it just a bit differently than everyone else!

To showcase its most stunning features, including but not limited to:

·       New paint

·      New Leather Seats in the correct factory pattern!·       New convertible top and tires, Vanity passenger Mirror and NOS Cadillac floor mats!

  • New Exhaust ,Brakes ,Fuel Pump ,Battery, Plugs, Top motor, Water Pump, NOS Automatic Transmission Filter,  Wheel cylinders etc.!
  • The power seat works fine as I have replaced the switches and seat transmission!
  • The original  dash is in almost perfect condition and the metal parts of the lower dash were professionally painted in the original white color.
  •  I personally flew out to California and selected and purchased most of the exterior chrome for this distinctive vehicle from a vintage Cadillac Salvage yard in the desert that specializes in Classic Cadillac’s.(the original chrome had dings and scuff marks)

·       The engine and drive train perform smoothly

·       The vintage power antenna and AM Radio work!! and this vehicle was per the build sheet constructed on 04/01/1963 with controlled differential (posi-traction) (a rarity in these old cars)

The factory build sheet, owner’s manual, sales brochures, etc. are included with the purchase of the vehicle, and a clear Florida Title is in hand and will be transferred to the new owner immediately upon the receipt of payment in full.

This is a stunning classic cruiser that turns heads wherever it goes. It was one of the featured cars in the Naples Parade and drew an voluminous amount of attention due to its striking exterior and interior color combination. I have repainted it in its original color scheme, Basildon Green which coordinates with the original two tone white/black interior.

This meticulously restored vehicle is by no means a "TRAILER QUEEN" and in my opinion is an excellent driver quality vehicle! The reserve price is reflective of its quality.

I have been in this hobby for over 45 years and attended hundreds of Car Shows and auctions and I have NEVER seen this color combination on any 1963 Cadillac Convertible !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The information off the Vehicle trim tag is as follows;

Paint code 32 , Basildon Green

Trim code 20 White Leather

Top code    1 White

Accessory code EY

Thank you for your interest and I can be reached at (239) 285-7555.

GOOD LUCK BIDDING!

 Terms and Conditions

Opinions of classic vehicle condition and originality are subjective.

Please note that I am not an automobile used car dealer, mechanic or auto body technician, as I am only a hobbyist ,so I can only answer your technical questions to the best of my ability.

There is no such thing as a "PERFECT" car...especially when dealing with vintage cars that are 20, 35 and even 50 years old.

Arranging for an independent third-party inspection is a great way to validate a seller's claims about a vehicle's condition. There are many companies and individuals who offer such a service. Of course your personal inspection and scrutiny are suggested and most welcomed.

The seller has made a diligent effort to accurately describe this vehicle but does not expressly or implicitly guarantee the accuracy of the above description.

Bidders and prospective purchasers are urged and cautioned to conduct their own due diligence, including a physical inspection in person or through a qualified third party inspector or appraiser, before contemplating a purchase or making a bid on this vehicle.

Your bid is your agreement to purchase the vehicle, not to come and look at it and then decide, you have ten days to do that before the end of the auction.

AS IS - NO WARRANTY This vehicle is being sold as is, where is with no warranty, expressed written or implied. The seller shall not be responsible for the correct description, authenticity, genuineness, or defects herein, and makes no warranty in connection therewith. No allowance or set aside will be made on account of any incorrectness, imperfection, defect or damage. Any descriptions or representations are for identification purposes only and are not to be construed as a warranty of any type. It is the responsibility of the buyer to have thoroughly inspected the vehicle and to have satisfied him- or herself as to the condition and value and to bid based upon that judgment solely. The seller shall and will make every reasonable effort to disclose any known defects associated with this vehicle at the buyer's request prior to the close of sale. Seller assumes no responsibility for any repairs regardless of any oral statements about the vehicle. I am not the original owner of this vehicle therefore I cannot certify the mileage as original or true so I will transfer the vehicle as TMU (true mileage unknown). I may cancel the auction at any time as I have the vehicle for sale locally.

Junkyard Gem: 1998 Cadillac Catera

Wed, Dec 14 2016

A decade or so after Ford tried to swipe some US-market sales from European luxury marques by selling the German-built Ford Scorpio with Merkur badging, General Motors opted to sell the German-built Opel Omega luxury sedan as a Cadillac. The Catera was a reasonably nimble rear-wheel-drive sedan with a 200-horse DOHC V6 engine, and its badge-engineered nature made it a much less costly gamble than, say, the Cadillac Allante, which had its bodies built in Italy and flown to Michigan for assembly. Unfortunately, it had no manual transmission option, and Americans who remembered the miserable US-market Opels of the 1970s were put off by the Catera's Opelness. Its $29,995 list price was quite a bit cheaper than that of the (slightly less powerful) $39,800 BMW 528i and a bit less than the (slightly more powerful) $33,585 Acura 3.2 TL's cost, but the Catera didn't sell in large numbers. This one made it to a respectable mileage figure, and the nice interior shows that it was well-cared-for during its 18 years on the road. The ads for the Catera featured a cartoon duck named Ziggy. Fast, fun, fiendishly flexible! By 2000, Cadillac had ditched the duck and was touting the Catera's value. Related Video:

All-Wheel, All Right
There is no escaping the luxury all-wheel drive empire Audi has built for itself over the past 15 years. While nearly every high-end marque has at least one offering with power at all four corners, the hardware can't help but play second fiddle to Ingolstadt's Quattro kingdom. Leather-lined all-wheel drive is simply Audi the way minimum wage is an English degree. But General Motors seems hell-bent on raiding as many established fiefdoms as possible with the 2013 Cadillac ATS. Engineers and designers made no secret of the fact that the baby Cadillac was penned specifically to take on the BMW 3 Series, but Audi should be no less concerned about the newest luxury prince from Detroit.
GM has been stuffing all-wheel drive systems under their vehicles for years, but the effort hasn't come without nasty side effects. Unfortunate understeer, extra ride height, smallish wheels and porky curb weight meant opting for all-wheel drive was like signing your driving pleasure's death warrant. Would you like polished brass or brushed nickel hardware for your right foot's coffin, sir?
