Car is very responsive when pressing the gas pedal and gets around 36mpg on the highway. Very fast and quiet car.

This car runs and drives near perfect. I am going to be CLEAR about any issues:

Drivers side of bumper was hit going 15mph at the mall. Airbags blew(removed now) and cracked the windshield.(see photo)
Bumper was replaced and I also replaced drivers side headlight.(see photo)
New windshield is $200.00 installed
Drivers airbag and cover is only $80 on eBay and the passenger dash airbag is only $60 right now on eBay. I have been driving it without those 2 airbags. Only issue is obviously the airbag light is on. You can purchase the reset module on eBay right now for $50 and all codes will reset and light will go off. Dealerships will charge $400+ to do the same thing.
Front left fender was bent.(see photo)
Air needs recharged. Worked fine last summer.
The reverse light cover has been cracked thanks to the automatic carwash. I simply used automotive tape to cover it.(see photo)
Steering Wheel Position Sensor needs replaced. I have it just haven't had time to get it switched out. $130 for labor at a Cadillac dealership. The only issue is it occasionally pops a code up on the dash and I just hit CLEAR to clear it.
1 Rim has a piece of chrome about 2" chipped off. I was going to plasti dip them black.Rims need cleaned and polished.
Sunroof has leaked slightly in one corner. Works perfect just watermarks on headliner.
From all of the potholes this past winter I would give it an alignment and possibly shocks however it is fine as is. Runs straight on the highway.
Let me be perfectly clear about this: The check engine light occasionally comes on after filling the gas. I have had the car at the Cadillac dealership twice and at Auto Zone twice. I was told maybe the gas cap doesn't fit perfect as it reads pressure. It has been this way for 2+ years. You can simply clear the light out when it comes on.

If you are hesitant because of any of the above issues:
1. I am asking MUCH less than bluebook value.
2. You may have the car inspected at a Cadillac dealership. I have nothing to hide and want you to be 100% comfortable!

So, there are no major issues unless you consider the airbags or windshield to be so. Easy fixes and I am not asking even close to Blue Book Value for all issues noted.

******If you have zero feedback you MUST contact me BEFORE you submit an offer.  If you DON'T have the money for it DON'T make an offer.******

I can possibly deliver or drive the car to you for an additional fee in Ohio.

This is my personal car and I am ONLY selling it because I bought a Powerstroke and want the money to put in it.
I take care of my vehicles as if I am going to keep them forever. I would get in this car right now and drive anywhere in the United States with ZERO worries.

Don't let the cosmetics and airbags scare you away. Easy and simple fixes anyone can do other than the windshield.

Cadillac: The standard of what?

Fri, Jul 28 2017

Cadillac's tagline "Standard of the World" goes back to 1908 when it won the Dewar Trophy. While you might think that the moniker and the trophy have something to do with a feat of racing and daring-do against a cadre of British, French, and German marques, it's nothing of the sort. Rather, Cadillac achieved the trophy because of interchangeable parts. The parts they were producing back then were so well-made that Henry Leland, who established Cadillac, was able to disassemble three Model Ks, mix up the parts, and then put together three functioning cars. This amazed the Brits who handed him the trophy, and the "Standard of the World" was born. During the past several months, Cadillac has been producing news releases that would seem as though the company is the Standard of the World: "Cadillac Global Sales Rise 44.2 percent in January ... 18 percent in February ... 22.1 percent in March. . .40.9 percent in April ... 33.8 percent in May ... 7.2 percent in June." Like the Dewar Trophy being about manufacturing not performance, things are not necessarily what they seem. That is, Cadillac's growth is predicated on performance in China, not in the US. Through June, its China sales are 80,357 vehicles for the first five months of 2017, versus 72,073 in the US. The China number is a 75.4-percent year-over-year increase while the US number is a 1.6-percent decrease. For the entire globe, Cadillac has sold 164,174 vehicles. Of them, 65,250 were the XT5. That was followed by the ATS, at 34,277 units. In the US, the XT5 is doing reasonably well, as it has moved 29,798 units during the first six months. The ATS, conversely, is doing not particularly well, as it is down 26.2 percent with sales at just 7,209 for the year so far. To put that into some sort of context, know that Cadillac has sold 7,370 copies of the generally derided XTS, which is down 24.7 percent. The CTS is down 36 percent at 5,059 units, and the only other car in the lineup (we'll pretend that the ELR doesn't exist anymore and it shortly won't), the CT6 sedan, is up 172.7 percent – but they have sold only 5,397 CT6s. While Caddy talks a good game about competing with the likes of the BMW 5 Series and the Mercedes E-Class, know that those two sedans have been sold 17,036 and 20,783 times this year in the US respectively. So what is Cadillac chief Johan de Nysschen to do? According to Reuters, it is to cull the lineup.

GM under fire from safety advocates over braking problem caused by recall fix

Thu, Feb 6 2020

Safety experts are lambasting General Motors over what they say is the automaker’s slow notification of owners of certain 2019 sedans and trucks that a recall fix could cause power braking to fail and increase the risk of a crash, the Detroit Free Press reports.  GMÂ’s original recall in December targeted about 550,000 Cadillac CT6 sedans and Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and GMC Sierra 1500 pickups, all from the 2019 model year, over potentially defective electronic stability control and antilock brakes. In that case, GM said the errors would not show up as a diagnostic warning on the instrument cluster. But after GM had done recall work on 162,000 vehicles, about 1,700 owner have complained that their power brakes didnÂ’t work after they had the recall done and then used the OnStar app to start their vehicle. GM then issued a supplemental fix for customers whoÂ’d already had their vehicles serviced. In this case, a diagnostic warning should illuminate saying either “Service Brake Assist” or “Service ECS,” which GM says is a signal that a customer should not drive the vehicle and instead call their dealer, which will tow the vehicle and have it repaired. Safety advocates say the automaker hasnÂ’t gone far enough to protect customers. “The fact that you could potentially start a vehicle and not have brakes is a pretty risky proposition,” Sean Kane, president of the Safety Research and Strategies, which works on auto issues for plaintiffs and governmental organizations, told the Freep. “The fact that they wouldnÂ’t notify owners (sooner) is pretty stunning.” GM told the Freep it was required to notify the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and file paperwork before it notified customers about the original recall, which was made Dec. 12. It then had to investigate and resolve the problem created by its original recall fix before alerting customers. GMÂ’s call center and dealers are contacting the remaining 900 customers who havenÂ’t yet had the update made to the original recall repair. GM also hired a vendor to send recall letters to the 550,000 customers affected by the original recall notifying them about the update. There are no known injuries or deaths related to the problem. Bosch builds an infotainment system that just might not suck

Tue, Jan 30 2018

As far as we've come with in-car infotainment and interfaces over the past decade or so, we still have a long way to go — as most current systems show. Whether it's high-end brands like Mercedes-Benz with its kludgy COMAND system, which we hope will be replaced with the MBUX platform revealed at CES, or more mainstream vehicles like Hondas (with their frustrating, knobless Display Audio interface), getting the kind of content and ease of use in the car that we're used to having on other connected devices is far too complex and sometimes costly. While Apple and Google have tried to ride to the rescue with CarPlay and Android Auto, respectively, they're limited solutions. No automaker or tech supplier has been able to deliver an easy, economical, flexible and non-distracting infotainment solution. But Bosch could be closing in on this elusive goal, given the digital cockpit concept demo I recently received at CES. Displayed in a Cadillac Escalade, the concept featured five interconnected color screens: one in the instrument cluster, two in the center console, and two more in the front-seat headrest for second-row passengers. The digital cockpit concept demo had cool features such as haptic-feedback touch-screen controls that created an edge-like feeling similar to a physical button, facial recognition to confirm driver credentials, and the intelligence to know the location of a phone in the car to lock it out to keep the driver from texting. The most significant aspect of the Bosch digital cockpit concept wasn't visible — but shows the company's vision for a future of seamless, convenient, cost-effective and safe in-car infotainment. It's powered by a single electronic control unit (ECU) that can simultaneously run multiple operating systems and also separates vehicle and infotainment controls for critical safety and cybersecurity reasons. Most modern cars can have as many as 100 separate ECUs, Philip Ventimiglia, product manager for Bosch Car Multimedia North America, explained at CES, and several just for infotainment functions. "The goal is to reduce that to about 10 so that we can save cost throughout the vehicle and enable new technologies," he added. "OEMs want to put more technology into cars, but it costs money," Ventimiglia said.
