Have you noticed that most of the cars listed here on ebay are from the Rust Bucket States like New Jersey, New York, Illinois and yes, even Pennsylvania? Talk to any mechanic, and they will tell you that the bolts break off the end of almost every single connection on the car.  Little bubbles appear in the paint job at most of the wheel wells and the floor boards feel springy when you get in.  My Mechanic will not even do an oil change on an “Eastern Sea Board” car as they seem to bend once you get them on a rack and something always goes wrong with the car even on minor maintenance.  Yes, some car’s are advertised as being kept in a heated garage but unless you do a complete undercarriage car wash after every time you drive it, well, you get the picture.  People flock to Florida for the “little Old Lady” syndrome for low mileage and excellent care of the car.  Don’t kid yourself;  you have no idea of the damage living near the Salt Water of Florida does to a car.

Out in Arizona, we have every major Airline in the world parking their 747’s in storage as a plane stored In Arizona is like having a time capsule.  Even the United States Government parked their World War II planes at Davis Monthan Air Force Base in Tucson.  Even the DEA parks their confiscated planes there as they may sit there for years before trial.  We also have Sun City, the original housing development created by Del Webb for retirement folks over age 65.  Arizona is probably the only place in the Nation that you can truly find a “clean” used car.  We have an auction out here called Barrett-Jackson Classic Car Auction where you can find million dollar cars.  Only a true connoisseur of  fine automobiles are even going to know the name of Barret-Jackson, but real collectors do.

Don’t make a mistake.  You can buy a car here really cheap from one of the Rust Bucket States or you can buy a pristine car, well kept and truly a “keeper”.  My private collection is constantly updated with classic cars that will sooner or later end up at Barret-Jackson.  Look at a 1958 Cadillac listed at a quarter of a million dollars and you will get a clue.  The first car I ever bought new was a 66 Corvette. Kept my used Jaguar XKE because I just had an idea that it would go up in value. I was right.  The next new car I bought was a 1969 Mustang 428 from a garage owned by a former race car driver called Carroll Shelby.  I did pretty well with that one also.  The Cobra from the same garage was my best hit.  Certain cars have that look and feel that will eventually put them in the “hall of fame”.  When people stop and turn their heads to stare, you have a pretty good idea your on to the right model.  Certain cars have what is called curb appeal and those cars are the first ones that sell on a lot as opposed to the plane Jane’s that sit on the rear of the lot and never get any attention.  Did you ever wonder why Cops write twice as many speeding tickets to “red” cars as they do “Black” cars?  It’s not because they speed twice as often, it’s because a red car will even make a cop turn his head to look.

Unlike most people here on ebay, I am in no big hurry to sell my cars.  I always like to update my collection and ad new and exciting cars to it.  I offer a few of my cars from time to time to increase my collection, not reduce it.  I usually ad money to what ever I sell and go out and seek a rare and collectible.  If it is from my collection, you can be assured it is low mileage, cherry and destined for greatness. It didn’t take a Rocket Scientist to know that a 57 Chevy or a 65 Mustang was going to light up the collectors boards.  It’s the sleepers that are difficult to spot and what was very much in demand the day they were bought (think 63 Corvette split window coupe or Gull Wing Mercedes) will end up being collectors cars when you least expect it.

OFFERED FOR SALE:

1997 Cadillac Eldorado ETC a truly classic Touring Car.  Fire Engine Red with immaculate leather interior.   Just look at the other cars offered here on ebay and look closely at the cracks In their seat leather and you will soon discover what the advantage of being kept in an Air Conditioned Garage is.  A/C is also a dehumidifier and that removes the moisture from the air taking away water that not only causes Rust, but also removes the dryness from real leather.  Sitting down in the car is like sitting on the show room floor. This car has less than 64000 miles on it and the last ten years it has been driven less than a thousand miles per year.  Yes, you heard that right.  According to AutoCheck, this car was driven less than Ten Thousand miles in the last ten years and stored in an air conditioned garage for its entire life.  My mechanic spent the last three days going through this car trying to find something wrong.  He Couldn’t.  He didn’t want to return it either as his wife fell in love with the car.  Don’t miss out on this one.  A real classic are far and few between and you might not see one this nice for quite a while to come.

If you have ever wondered what the true meaning of the word "antique" or Classic really means, simply compare it to the day it was made.  If it was truly a work of art the day it was built, it will still be a piece of art fifty years later.  Build a piece of junk and no matter how old it is, it will still be junk when it arrives on the antique market.  That can never be said about the classic lines or design artwork on a Cadillac Eldorado.  Quality is built in, not given freely on some advertising brochure.   This fine piece of History was garage kept it's entire life.  It has never left the cover of it's air conditioned sealed and locked garage unless it was in use.  Stored in an environmental controlled condition since the day of manufacture, this car shows it.  One look at it's pristine luxury interior and you know the car was well kept, well loved and preserved for the ages.  Not every car can become a classic, but this one was destined for History the day it was built.  Don't miss your opportunity of owning a truly great piece of History, the Cadillac Eldorado.

Cadillac Celestiq flagship EV shows off its tint-shifting smart roof

Sat, Jan 23 2021

GM has high hopes for its upcoming Cadillac Celestiq sedan, slated for release in 2023. The flagship EV is being built to help the brand recapture its reign as “the Standard of the World.” As such, itÂ’s expected to arrive packed to the gills with cutting edge, futuristic technology including an all-glass roof that can adjust its opacity anywhere between crystal clear and completely opaque with the mere flick of a switch. These roofs, dubbed SPD-Smartglass, have been designed and manufactured by Research Frontiers of Woodbury, New York, and are based on Suspended Particle Device technology that was originally created as a replacement for the manual sliding window shades aboard commercial aircraft, Research Frontiers CEO Joe Harary told Engadget. Some of the earliest examples of SPD window treatments can be seen on the 2011 Mercedes Benz SLK roadster and in the 2012 Mercedes S Class coupe, which were used to increase headspace while eliminating the physical window shade screens, as well as various McLaren models over the past decade. As the YouTube video below explains, Research Frontiers SPD tech relies on polyiodide nanoparticles to generate its tint effect. Magic Sky Control Using SPD-SmartGlass Technology “SPD technology is smart glass that allows you to change the tint of the glass,” Harary explained. “There's this film that we invented that has little nanoparticles in it, which you can control with a small electrical voltage. So, basically this film... that allows you to dial in whatever tint level you'd like.”  “The crystals are about three to five tenths of a micron in length and they act as induced dipoles so when you apply an electric field to conductive coatings in the film,” Harary continued, “ the particles will line up, and allow light to pass through. Then, when you remove the voltage, their natural tendency is to be in the dark state due to Brownian movement and that causes the glass to tint.”  As the tint partially blocks incoming photons, it also reduces the amount of glare experienced by the driver and the heat trapped within the vehicle — over 99.5 percent of light and 95 percent of heat, per a January press release from the company. The claim is, this allows vehicle occupants to stay comfortable for longer without having to turn on the A/C, as well as keep the interior up to 18 degrees Fahrenheit cooler overall, Harary said.

2016 Cadillac ATS-V First Drive [w/video]

Sun, Apr 26 2015

If you get hot and bothered for hot-rodded sedans and coupes, you probably know that Germans have long dominated that cutthroat scene. For years, the Audi RS/BMW M/Mercedes-AMG triumvirate has ruled the microcosm of grunty, mid-level luxury cars. But a funny thing happened when Cadillac's first V car hit the market in 2004. Since the CTS-V crashed the high horsepower party, German tuning houses started thinking less about the "Daddy's Caddy" stereotypes and more about the next imminent threat – in this case, the inevitable high-horsepower spinoff of the smaller, nimbler Cadillac ATS. The standard ATS' defense against the German triad hasn't been triumphant so far (GM's Michigan plant was idled for three weeks in 2014 due to excess inventory), but the souped-up 2016 Cadillac ATS-V presents a fresh bid to put the Teutonic competition on alert. The ATS-V's flared bodywork and quad exhaust pipes offer bits of visual shock and awe, but significant hardware upgrades back up the go-fast looks. Front and center is a twin-turbocharged, 3.6-liter V6 with reworked internals including a charge-air cooler, titanium connecting rods, and titanium-aluminide turbines. The new engine produces 464 horsepower and 445 pound-feet of torque, up a staggering 262 hp and 173 lb-ft compared to a base, four-cylinder ATS. Those output figures eclipse the BMW M3/M4 (425 hp, 406 lb-ft) and Audi RS5 (450 hp, 317 lb-ft), but lag slightly behind the V8-powered Mercedes-AMG C63 (476 hp, 479 lb-ft), and more so the C63 S (503 hp, 516 lb-ft). The chassis benefits from several structural braces, most notably a shear panel intended to boost front-end stiffness. Extra poundage from the add-ons are minimized through lighter-weight materials – in the case of the shear panel, stamped aluminum. Cadillac says though it intended to make the ATS the quickest car in its segment (stated 0-60 mph times between 3.8 and 3.9 second virtually match the BMW M4 and Mercedes-AMG C63 S' 3.9 figure), the development team says they also focused on subjective qualities like turn-in quickness and steering response. As such, toe links have been replaced with ball joints, mounts have been retuned, and reworked magnetic damping offer greater responsiveness. Six suspension bushings have been stiffened and ten have been completely redesigned, and the Performance Traction Management system that tames beasts like the Corvette Z06 and Camaro ZL1 also helps lay down power in the ATS-V.

GM to build $1.3 billion Cadillac plant in China

Wed, 08 May 2013

General Motors has gotten approval to build a $1.3 billion manufacturing facility for its Cadillac brand in China. China's National Development and Reform Commission signed off on plans for GM to build the plant in the country's Shanghai's Jinqiao zone; construction is expected to begin in June of this year. According to a Bloomberg report, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 150,000 units.
No surprise here, but Cadillac would like to sell a lot more cars in the plush Chinese luxury market. The brand moved only 30,010 cars in China last year, compared with 400k for Audi, and about 330k for BMW. With Cadillac already telling us that it would be moving production of its XTS sedan to China - a production decision that saves having to pay 25-percent import tariffs - approval of the factory is a critical win for the company.
In fact, according to earlier comments by GM China president Bob Socia, it's at least conceivable that Chinese-built Cadillacs could be shipped back to the US for sale. The brave new world of globalization, getting stranger by the minute.
