I am selling this car for the family of the owner, who recently passed away.  He was a great friend to those of us in the local Cadillac & La Salle Club, and had beautifully kept this car over the years mostly only driving it to local car shows, to regional meets, and to a few Grand National events.  It was his baby and it shows!

These cars were the “king of the road” back in 1977, and this Eldorado is fully loaded, with nearly all available options for the year including the highly desirable Biarritz trim package, a dealer installed Sunroof, Power Recliner on the Passenger Seat, AM/FM Stereo Radio with 8 Track Player and Power Antenna, Cruise Control, Automatic Climate Control,  Power Windows, Locks, Steering, Brakes, and gorgeous leather interior with no cracks and very little signs of wear, with contrasting red dash and red carpeting.

Believe it or not, even the Cruise Control and Power Antenna work!

The car is super comfortable, has quite a bit of power for such a large car, and drives quietly, straight, and smooth.  The engine and transmission perform as they should with no issues.  All lighting works, even the opera lamps!  All of the windows and door locks work.  The stereo plays beautifully and all speakers are alive with great sound.

The car was meticulously maintained over the years, with many records since 1987 available to the new owner.

Notable replaced items include:

·         Repainted front and rear bumper fillers

·         Driver’s side and passenger’s side interior door panels for show quality!

·         Generator

·         Radiator

·         Coker Wide Whitewall Tires

·         Interior Armrests

·         Brakes, including pads, hoses, rotors

·         Routine service of all fluids as needed.

·         Engine exhaust manifold

·         Valve Cover Gaskets

·         Transmission Pan Gasket

·         Air Conditioning Compressor and Condenser (R12)

Car is in amazingly solid condition for the year and for the age.  Mileage is low, and original!

I observed a few items that will need attention soon, including:

1.     Climate Control functions as expected, including cooling / heating, and all fan speeds and temperature settings.  However, A/C could use a recharge as it blows cool not cold.

2.    Driver’s side power seat motor is inoperable – Seat is currently in the furthest back position.

3.    Small trim piece attaches to right side of rear bumper filler underneath license plate – in photos it’s not attached, but we have the part and it can be attached with trim adhesive.

4.    Car is due for fluid service, including oil and filter change.

There are no oil leaks anywhere under the car.  The transmission pan gasket seeps slightly and will drip 2-3 drops every 2 weeks.  Minor but wanted to mention anyway.

Check out the link to 118 photos of the car, from many aspects and angles:

Hotter Cadillac CT5-V and CT4-V spy photos, video hint at engines

Wed, Jul 31 2019

Cadillac has some extra spicy V cars on the way, and this latest batch of spy photos and videos is more revealing than anything we’ve seen yet. We donÂ’t yet know the final name of these Cadillac V cars, but they are supposed to be the true replacements for the CTS-V and ATS-V. The CT4-V and CT5-V we saw previously are only mild performance variants of the regular sedans. Diving into the video seems more important than the photos on this one. Our spy shooters managed to capture great audio that allows us to take some guesses at whatÂ’s under the hood of these cars. The CT5-Vs in black and white camouflage sound like they have some gnarly V8s under their skin. We canÂ’t pick up a supercharger whine or a turbocharger whistling away, but weÂ’re not going to rule out the former. The CTS-V has a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 that makes 640 horsepower, and it wouldnÂ’t be out of the question to see this car rival it in power. We still havenÂ’t heard the CT6-V at full song, but the engine weÂ’re listening to here just doesnÂ’t strike us as the sound of a 4.2-liter twin-turbo V8 in that car. It sounds a lot more guttural, like the LT4 or LT5 V8 engines. Also, none of the CT5-Vs here sounded like they had manual transmissions. CT4-V spied View 40 Photos Moving to the CT4-V in the blue getup, it sounds a lot like a V6 is under the hood. This also makes sense when we consider that the ATS-V had a 3.6-liter twin-turbo V6 itself. Most important of all to note, is the evidence of a manual transmission. In one of the acceleration clips, weÂ’re able to hear the tell-tale sound of a driver pausing in acceleration for a split second to change gears. This is great news, folks. The manual is looking alive and well in the Cadillac sedan to us. Another clip of a CT4-V in black and white camouflage makes it sound like that particular model is equipped with an automatic transmission, indicating that Cadillac may be offering both transmission options on the new car. As for the rest of the photos, go ahead and take in all the close-up details. We got photos of the tires on the CT4-V, showing 255/35/ZR18s up front and 275/35/ZR18s in back. Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S rubber is used, telling us this thing is going to have a ton of grip. There are more vents, wider fenders and more aggressive styling throughout on these cars compared to the lower-performance V cars. Now that weÂ’re looking at them from much closer than before, the package is looking even more comprehensive.

Cadillac XT5 confirmed for 2016 as next-gen SRX

Wed, Jun 10 2015

Cadillac's entire lineup of 2016 models gets a major infotainment upgrade this summer with improvements to CUE and integration with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. There's one major exception for now, though. The SRX retains the old system until its all-new generation, called the XT5, debuts early in the 2016 calendar year. "When we transition into all new product lines, we will evolve the naming convention to suit the new classification we have announced. So SRX becomes XT5 next year," company spokesman David Caldwell said in an email to Autoblog. Earlier spy shots and rumors suggest the XT5 might be offered with a turbocharged four-cylinder and naturally aspirated six-cylinder engines, plus a nine-speed automatic transmission. For the rest of Cadillac's models, CarPlay arrives with the launch of the 2016 vehicles, and Android Auto joins later. Using either of them requires a connection via USB, and they add a new projection icon on the CUE screen. Once activated, both systems integrate with driver's phone and incorporate features like navigation, music, and contacts. They can also accept voice commands. Even for those that don't want to hook up a smartphone, CUE should work better thanks to a more powerful processor. Start-up times for the infotainment system are expected to be faster, and Cadillac claims that it's also more responsive for voice recognition, navigation searches, and media. The navigation interface is simplified, as well. The Escalade, CTS, and XTS can now be ordered with a 360-degree camera system to display on the screen. Cadillac Enhances Phone Integration for 2016 Models with Apple CarPlay, CUE Upgrades APPLE CARPLAY AVAILABLE AT LAUNCH; ANDROID AUTO COMING LATER IN MODEL YEAR 2015-06-09 NEW YORK – Cadillac's 2016 model year products will feature enhanced connectivity and control, including the addition of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, the predominant new systems for in-car phone integration. These additions are part of a broader enhancement of CUE, Cadillac's user experience, with new features and a faster, streamlined operation. Apple CarPlay will debut in 2016 Cadillac models featuring CUE's 8-in multi-touch screen except the SRX Crossover, a model that will move to an all-new generation in early 2016. Android Auto is expected to be phased into 2016 production at a later date. The 2016 model year will begin this summer.

Cadillac confirms Blackwings will get manual transmissions and 3D-printed parts

Thu, Dec 10 2020

Cadillac's upcoming 2022 CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing will be the first GM production cars to utilize 3D-printed technology. In fact, the technology will be featured front and center on one of the cars' most hotly anticipated features — in a decorative medallion atop the shift knob of the manual transmission. Cadillac says that "additive manufacturing" (named as such because 3D printing accumulates tiny deposits of material to create the object) made the manual transmissions possible by reducing costs and waste. Aside from the medallion, the cars will employ two 3D-printed two HVAC ducts and an electrical harness bracket. "[The manual transmission is] something we know V-Series buyers want and itÂ’s something we knew we had to have, so we used innovative processes to make it happen,” said Cadillac performance variant manager Mirza Grebovic. Speaking of which, Cadillac commissioned a Harris Poll survey about manual transmissions and received some interesting results. For example, 66 percent of American adults surveyed know how to drive manual, and 55 percent said they've owned a standard shift car. Of those who don't, roughly 40 percent are either somewhat or very interested in learning. Interest is highest among two key demographics, 64 percent of those earning $75,000 or more in annual household income, and 62 percent of those ages 18-34. The findings seem to contradict what many automakers have said about lack of interest in manuals, with some declaring a sub-1 percent take rate when manuals are offered. Perhaps with a performance-oriented car such as the V-series, buyer preferences change. The mix of old school gearboxes and new school manufacturing techniques will result in what looks like a very potent car on paper. The CT5-V Blackwing is rumored to be powered by an updated 6.2-litter V8, while the CTS-4 Blackwing is said to be motivated by a turbo six. Neither will use the twin-turbo 4.2-liter V8 of their namesake, but they should prove to be worthy successors to the CTS-V and ATS-V. Related Video:
