Up for auction is my 1975 Cadillac El Dorado convertible. In my opinion, it is a very nice driver condition car that could use some minor tlc. 97K original miles running and driving car. It has all 4 new shocks on it and new sway bar bushings in the front. The interior is in excellent condition. No cracks in the dash. door pads are very nice. Original leather seats showing minimal wear and power seat that works. Carpet has some sun fading to it. The power windows all work and so does the power locks. It has cruise control, tilt and telescoping wheel. I have not tested the cruise though. The exterior of the car has been repainted at some point, back to it's original color as far as i can tell. The bumper extensions have been replaced at a later date and their paint does not match the car too well. The car has a nice shine to it still and looks great. It does have minor chips and scratches in a few places, consistent with it's age. There are also a couple small dings in it, but by no means a beat up old car. It gets lots of looks and attention. The top works but is showing it's age. I believe it to be original also. It is shrinking up on the sides some but not torn up and still does it's job. But you should plan to replace it at some point or store it indoors as i do. Under the hood looks very original but definitely could use detail work. The valve cover gaskets were leaking and new one's were put on but the covers could have been repainted in my opinion. The radiator has been replaced with a new aluminum one. It does have some things that need repaired. The power antenna does not work but it is in the up position and the radio picks up stations fine. The radio does not appear original as it is a cassette player. It does have the original cadillac knobs and the dash was not cut to install it. The a/c is complete and comes on but does not get cold, recharge is needed i'm guessing. The driver's side top latch handle is broken. There is enough left of it that it still latches with no problem, just want you to be aware of all i know. The tires should be replaced. They hold air fine but do show some dry rot and the right front does not match the other 3. It has a jack, but no spare. The horn does not work. There is a minor exhaust leak up front. Once again guessing, but it sounds like a doughnut on driver's side. The car still runs very quiet. Once again, i am trying to list all i know so there are no surprises. There is 1 spot of rust, at the bottom of the right front fender a couple inches long. i did clean out allot of leaves from inside that door jam and i believe that was the issue. It is shown in the pics. That is it for rust. The underside is very clean. All floors, trunk and quarters are very clean too. The chrome shines nice and it has all original hubcaps. I also have the owners manual with it. This is a nice clean car for it's age. I keep it indoors but i need the space. That is why i am listing it for sale. It would be a shame to have it sit outside, it's too nice for that.  Any questions i can be reached at 302-531-5185  Zero feedback bidders must call me first or bid will be deleted. Listed locally and reserve the right to end auction if sold. Car needs to be paid for in 3 days, but can remain here if needed until you are able to pick it up. For a reasonable amount of time, remember i am only selling it because i cannot keep it stored inside much longer. 100% good feedback and i work to keep that. I list all i know and remember about the car, nothing to hide.

Watch the 2019 Autoblog Technology of the Year presentation to Cadillac

Wed, Jan 16 2019

Autoblog presented our 2019 Technology of the Year Award to Cadillac at the Detroit Auto Show. Autoblog conducted rigorous testing last fall on the latest automotive technologies, and Cadillac Super Cruise earned top honors, edging out Infiniti's Variable Compression Turbo and Mercedes' EQ technologies, the other two finalists. Super Cruise is a semi-autonomous system that allows for hands-free driving to reduce the driver's workload. Our editors found it easy to use and noted the system simply works as intended. We happily found Cadillac under-promised and over-delivered with Super Cruise, a clever system that truly helps the driver. Super Cruise launched on the CT6 sedan, and Cadillac plans to roll out the feature to other vehicles. Watch the video above as Cadillac President Steve Carlisle receives the 2019 Autoblog Technology of the Year Award from Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore, with Autoblog GM Adam Morath and the editorial team on hand at the Detroit show. Blackwings, a G 63 gets dirty and a wave of rad-era nostalgia | Autoblog Podcast #693

Fri, Aug 27 2021

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Associate Editor Byron Hurd, who has spent the past few weeks sampling a near-endless string of enthusiast vehicles. They start off discussing Cadillac's 2022 CT4-V and CT5-V Blackwing models, which Byron had the opportunity to drive at Virginia International Raceway. They follow that up with a discussion of the Mercedes-Benz AMG G 63, which Byron also drove on a track, albeit one of a very different sort. After that, some news. Greg and Byron run down the list of returning enthusiasts nameplates, including Integra, Z and Countach, and cap off by talking about what a third-generation Acura NSX might look like.  Send us your questions for the Mailbag and Spend My Money at: Podcast@Autoblog.com. Cadillac Lyriq EV unveiled as brand's first electric vehicle

Fri, Aug 7 2020

Your author has already seen it, back in March, and has had to wait until today to show you the new Cadillac Lyriq electric luxury crossover. We were excited about it then, we're still excited about it now, but we'll see if we can maintain that excitement for another two years. After some fanfare, a delay, a name explanation and a bit of teasing, Cadillac has finally taken the wraps off the Lyriq, and we like what we see. The bad news — weÂ’ll get it out of the way right now — is that the Cadillac Lyriq wonÂ’t go on sale until late 2022. Moving on, letÂ’s bask in the photos and video weÂ’ve long awaited, and dig into what we know about the first all-electric Cadillac. First, it will come in two drivetrain configurations: rear-wheel drive and performance all-wheel drive. ItÂ’ll use GMÂ’s new Ultium modular battery technology, giving it a driving range targeting north of 300 miles, plus a center of gravity about 3.9 inches lower than that of the similarly sized Cadillac XT5. It will be capable of "over" 150-kilowatt DC fast charging, with a Level 2 charging rate of up to 19 kW. Cadillac Lyriq View 8 Photos In terms of styling, the Lyriq is a substantial move forward both inside and out — and a lot of it has to do with lighting. On the outside, it gets vertical headlights, plus a bunch of little light-up elements in the grille, include a logo that is animated on startup. In fact, the face will light up as you approach, not unlike a dog seeing its best friend ready to play. We see some more nifty lighting signatures in back that carry on a similar theme with more vertical lights. Inside, the lighting situation gets even more interesting, with another light-up crest on the steering wheel, plus wood veneer over aluminum door panels, all backlit. As for its stance, the Lyriq has a long wheelbase, and rides on 22-inch wheels. At the back, we see a slick vented spoiler hanging over the raked rear glass. The side doors of the Lyriq automatically open with the touch of a button in door handle outlines that are flush with the body. Similarly, they close automatically, slowing down at the end to pull the doors fully shut. We wouldn't be surprised if this doesn't make it to production. Moving around the interior, the curved, 33-inch combination digital driver display and infotainment screen sprawls across the dash. It uses advanced LED technology, and is capable of displaying over a billion colors, according to Cadillac.
