This vehicle is a head turner, I named it Apollo 17 since it looks like the Saturn V rocket used on Apollo 17, and 72 was the last Apollo flight, rare to see a hardtop black on white, these are the original colors.  I bought this car from an older couple who put 78,000 miles on it (it now has 80k original).  After many enjoyable weekends of TLC, I replaced the the vinyl top, fresh upholstery to the seats, installed noise and heat dampening inside the whole floor board (that 500 rumbles pretty loud), then installed fresh carpet, new 3 core aluminum radiator, new shocks and CV boots, changed the points to an electric module, new AC compressor (blows cold).  Runs excellent, transmission is smooth, floats on the freeway. It sits on 18" with about 80% on the Goodyears, the original tires and hubcaps come with the car if you like it original.  Changed out the speakers to Bose on the front dash and rear. I absolutely love this car, it is a classic piece of Americana I wish I could keep it, but we just had twin boys.  I only have one of the side wheel skirts,  I like it better with them off. Car still has the automatic leveling compressor, but it wasn't working so I went with KYB shocks front and rear. Paint is about a 7-8 out of 10, it looks amazing, shines and has the original pin striping. This car is about 95% complete. The passenger door needs to have the door pull fixed, the driver door lock doesn't engage with the key, but the power lock does. It has a few minor details (crack in the winshield $250.00), but the heavy labor has been done. I've put over $3200 into this car, with my touches, but its ready for yours. It really is an eye catcher, you'll get so many compliments from all kinds of folks,  prepare to do a lot of stop and chats. Feel free to contact me with any questions.

2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will get carbon fiber seat backs

Wed, Sep 30 2020

Cadillac is putting the finishing touches on the 2022 CT5-V Blackwing, the high-performance sedan that will pick up where the CTS-V left off. It announced the model will be available with carbon fiber front seat backs. Presumably found on the list of extra-cost options, the weight-saving carbon fiber seat backs will stand out with a book-matched design and a laser-etched V-Series logo that will remind the passengers sitting in the back that they're not riding in a regular CT5-V. Interestingly, Cadillac noted the seats will also boast "other customer-centric innovations and features" that will be detailed closer to the sedan's on-sale date. Chairs are hardly on the front lines of automotive innovation, so we're looking forward to learning more about what Cadillac has in store. Drivers will have carbon fiber in front of them, too, because the multi-function steering wheel's bottom spokes will be made with the composite material. Cadillac hinted the sedan's top speed will lie in the vicinity of 200 mph. 2021 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing spied View 15 Photos Nearly everything else we know about the CT5-V Blackwing comes from a diverse selection of rumors, industry murmurings, and spy shots. We learned earlier in 2020 that it might receive an updated version of the 6.2-liter V8 that powered its predecessor, not the 4.2-liter Blackwing engine it's named after, and leaked images strongly suggest a manual transmission will be available, though we assume Cadillac will also offer an automatic. It might be a six-speed stick, or Cadillac could use a version of the Chevrolet Corvette's seven-speed manual. Our questions will be answered when the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing finally makes its debut. It's scheduled to go on sale in the summer of 2021, so its unveiling is likely a couple of weeks away, and Cadillac warned availability will be limited. The smaller CT4 which replaced the ATS, is also in line to get the Blackwing treatment.

2020 Cadillac XT5 spied undisguised with infotainment from CT5

Thu, May 16 2019

The reveal of the 2020 Cadillac XT5 crossover must be seriously near, because one of our spy photographers caught the new one completely undisguised. Seriously, there aren't any vinyl coverings anywhere, and the interior was completely bare, too. The update is minimal for the most part, but the interior reveals a big infotainment change. Before we get inside, we'll do a quick overview of the exterior. The front grille has a new mesh insert, and the lower air dam has a wider, thinner metallic accent. At the back, the colors for the faux skid plate or diffuser motif have been swapped. And that's it for the exterior. See? Told you it would be quick. The interior is nearly unchanged, too, except for the aforementioned infotainment system. Instead of the current model's touchscreen-only interface, the new XT5 adopts the control knob featured in the XT4, XT6 and CT5. It fits quite naturally behind the electronic shift lever. If it's like the system in other Cadillacs, fans of the touchscreen shouldn't worry, because you'll still be able to use the touch functions if you wish. Odds are we're months away from the new XT5 hitting dealers, since this is clearly a finished prototype. It will most certainly offer the same 3.6-liter, 310-horsepower V6 and 8-speed automatic of the current model. It's possible Cadillac will introduce a slightly more affordable 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-4 as an option, possibly even a turbo inline-4 hybrid powertrain, since both powertrains are available on the current Chinese-market XT5.

GM CEO Akerson calls out Tesla, says Cadillac will compete on EVs

Tue, 24 Sep 2013

Cadillac will be taking on Tesla Motors, the underdog EV manufacturer that's seen heaps of critical acclaim and stock market buzz with its most recent sedan, the Model S. "If you want to compete head-to-head with Tesla, and we ultimately will, you want to do it with a Cadillac," Dan Akerson, the chairman and CEO of General Motors, told media in Washington, according to The Detroit News.
Akerson continued, telling The News, "We'll sell more Volts and lose less money on the Volts than they'll lose on the Model S." He also took time to point out that Tesla getting vehicles out to customers isn't a guarantee of success or permanence, using Fisker as an example, saying "Does anybody even remember Fisker? I mean, there were a number of them; they are all gone."
This strong talk from Akerson comes after Doug Parks, another GM exec, let slip that the Detroit-based manufacturer has an EV in the works that will cover 200 miles per charge and only cost about $30,000, a massive upgrade over similarly priced EVs that struggle to top 100 miles per charge. Until that vehicle arrives, though, GM is preparing the Cadillac ELR, a small coupe that, like the Volt with which it shares technology, uses a gas engine as a mobile generator to recharge the batteries. Akerson took aim at Tesla again, saying, "But I do think when the ELR comes out late this year, early next - it's certainly the same postal code as Tesla, but now we're going to move up. It's not going to be a mass-produced car."
