Thanks for looking at my auction. Must first start by saying that this is my baby and I really hate to part with it but it is no longer practical for me to keep.  My loss, your gain.   You are looking at a rare '92 triple white Coupe deVille.  Never a daily driver, but really a very babied car. Stored winters (NEVER driven in inclement weather) covered, inside an airport hangar in metro Detroit.  It has been detailed regularly and washed almost every time it's driven.  Since I've owned the car, it has never seen an automatic car wash.   About 6 years ago the car was involved in a collision with a deer.   The right side view mirror was damaged, the right rear quarter glass was shattered and the vinyl top (right side) was punctured.  There was no sheet metal damage.   The insurance company totaled the car, I bought the car back from them and had the mirror replaced, right rear quarter glass replaced and the entire vinyl top replaced along with the underlying plastic shell (which gives the vinyl top it's shape.).  At the time that the vinyl top was replaced, the headliner was replaced also, along with the visors, from A pillars and the sail panels in the rear.

Windshield was replaced at this time as well.  It was poorly installed and leaked, wetting the white headliner so there are faint water stains on the passenger side of headliner near the RH door.  The shoddy windshield job was, of course, redone and installed correctly with another new glass.
I have kept up with repairs on this car with due diligence, and I will list the parts here:
Delco GM A/C compressor
Delco GM A/C condenser
low and high side A/C lines
Delco GM climate control module
Delco GM rear air ride shocks- correct original.  Rear end was beginning to sag, compressor would run often.
Delco level ride compressor and dryer, as a precaution because it had been over taxed from the leaking air shocks
Delco level ride height sensor
Front struts and springs
Delco GM starter motor
Delco battery (march of this year)
Radiator replaced, along with upper and lower radiator hoses
Front brake pads and rotors
Front sway bar links and both lower ball joints.
Rear lower ball joints
Rear sway bar links
New front brake hoses, and lines to rear.
Rear brake drums and shoes
New front and rear bumpers, new grill, front clip repainted
Delco power antenna mast and motor
Both front ABS wheel speed sensors, Delco
Delco power trunk pull down motor and switch
Oil changes (semi-synthetic) every 6 months regardless of miles.
Regular brake fluid flushes (should be done yearly on a car that isn't driven much)
Of course fuel filter and engine air filters replaced at correct factory recommended intervals

Now for the problems
Paint on deck lid and roof is beginning to check as was common on GM cars of this era.
CD player works sometimes, sometimes not.  CD player has already been rebuilt once, and all internal lamps for the buttons were replaced, using the correct color bulbs to match the other dash lights, it. worked for about a year and then began acting up. I refuse to install an aftermarket radio, as I've never seen one that actually looks nice.  Radio works perfectly AM and FM.   Also a common problem on these older Delco stereos, I've never had one that worked correctly / dependably.  Drivers seat is beginning to show it's age, slight cracking and some of the top layer of dye was peeled off drivers seat back side bolster (the side closest to the door) this does not show up really in the pictures, it's not bad, but I notice it.  Still, the leather on all seats is supple and soft.  Incredibly comfortable car.  Anyone who's owned or ridden in one of these knows- when you sink down into those big plush seats, you know you're in a Cadillac.  There is small area of rust at lower right hand corner of windshield that has been repaired twice and continues to come back.

This car is a terrific highway cruiser, very smooth plush ride without feeling floaty / boaty.
Can be expensive to operate being that it requires premium fuel, but power from this V8 is undeniable, it lends a very confident feeling behind the wheel.   A definite wolf in sheep's clothing.  The Vogue tires have about 12,000 miles on them, gold stripe on a couple of them has begun to fade.   The car has had a 4-wheel alignment yearly, whether it needs it or not.   So no uneven tread wear on the tires.   Drives smooth straight and quietly down the road.  In my opinion, this model is one of the best looking cars Cadillac has produced since the 1950's and 60's.  If you don't like attention from other motorists, you probably shouldn't bid on this car.   It turns heads everywhere, it's a very rare trip when I don't get at least one grin and a thumbs up.  This engine and transmission is a strong set up, these cars can go well over 200,000 miles if cared for.  My '93 Sedan deVille was still going strong at 270,00 when i totaled it.   Not sure what else to say in this description other than if you have any questions, please shoot me an email, I'm more than happy to answer questions or take specific pictures you may require.

Steve Carlisle replaces Johan de Nysschen as head of Cadillac

Wed, Apr 18 2018

Johan de Nysschen, a longtime automotive industry executive, is out the door at Cadillac after four years at the helm of GM's flagship luxury brand. Steve Carlisle will replace de Nysschen as General Motors senior vice president and president, Cadillac. Carlisle previously served as president and managing director of GM Canada. Travis Hester will replace Carlisle in that role, starting immediately. "We appreciate Johan's efforts over the last four years in setting a stronger foundation for Cadillac," said General Motors President Dan Ammann. That strong foundation is mostly seen overseas. Cadillac has seen record sales in China under de Nysschen's watch, but has continued to flounder in its home market of the United States with market share significantly lower than rival brands like Audi, BMW, Lexus, and Mercedes-Benz. Growth in the U.S. market is mostly happening with crossovers and SUVs, and Cadillac has been trailing its German and Japanese rivals on that front. The brand-new XT4 is seen as a big potential sales booster for the automaker, but its late arrival has already hurt the brand's sales figures here in America. "Looking forward, the world is changing rapidly, and, beginning with the launch of the new XT4, it is paramount that we capitalize immediately on the opportunities that arise from this rate of change," said Ammann. "This move will further accelerate our efforts in that regard." Carlisle will report directly to Ammann in his role as the head of the Cadillac brand. Related Video:

Weekly Recap: GM scales back as Russian auto market teeters

Sat, Mar 21 2015

General Motors' extensive plans to scale back its Russian operations are the latest sign the automotive market in the former superpower is collapsing – and there are few signs of recovery. GM said Wednesday it will stop selling mainstream Chevrolets and shutter the entire Opel brand in Russia. The moves leave GM with a luxury-focused presence consisting of Cadillac and Chevrolet's Corvette, Camaro and Tahoe. The cutbacks will be completed by the end of the year. The automaker will also idle its factory in St. Petersburg and end a contract-assembly agreement with Russian manufacturer GAZ. "We had to take decisive action in Russia to protect our business," Opel Group CEO Karl-Thomas Neumann said in a statement. "We confirm our outlook to return the European business to profitability in 2016 and stick to our long-term goals." GM is the latest automaker to scale back in Russia as the economic conditions, volatile currency and uncertainty over the conflict in the Ukraine all have sandbagged new car sales. Last month, vehicle sales collapsed 38 percent in Russia to 128,298 units, according to the Association of European Business, which records sales. Joerg Schreiber, chairman of the AEB automobile manufacturers committee, didn't even feign optimism in a statement announcing the figures. "The market is entering a very difficult phase now, and February is only the beginning," he said. "Industry sentiment is the next few months will be extremely difficult and the market bottom has yet to be found." The dovetails with industry experts, who predict the Russian auto sector will remain in the doldrums. IHS said earlier this year it expects Russia's sales to slip to just 1.8 million units in 2015, which is a 40-percent drop from 2012. Other News & Notes Chief leads Jeep's Easter Safari stable Jeep is bringing seven attention-getting concepts to Moab for its annual Easter Safari off-roading celebration in Utah, but the Chief is perhaps the standout of the group. It salutes the 1970s Cherokee with a throwback appearance and surfer styling cues. The Chief has a custom modified razor grille made famous by the Wagoneer, and it rolls on 17-inch slotted mag wheels. The surf theme comes in with ocean blue paint, floral cloth and leather seats and a tiki-style shifter handle. Based on the Jeep Wrangler, the Chief has removable sides, a 3.6-liter V6 engine and a six-speed manual gearbox.

Lincoln Aviator vs Cadillac XT6 | How they compare on paper

Thu, Sep 5 2019

There have been big, three-row family crossovers for quite a while now, but until recently the luxury market hasn't fully embraced them. Sure, you could literally get one with a third row, but unless you were a kid, chances are the term "dungeon-like" was going to be tossed around. Things are changing now, however, as new and redesigned entries are starting to hit the market. We've recently had a chance to get our first drives of the 2020 Lincoln Aviator and 2020 Cadillac XT6, two all-new three-row crossovers from American luxury brands. We also got a turn behind the wheel of the updated 2020 Volvo XC90. However, since none of our editors have yet to drive to drive them all, we wanted to see how they compare on paper, examining their engine specs and interior dimensions. We also included the 2020 Acura MDX, the original three-row luxury crossover, which continues to sell well despite approaching the end of its current generation. That it offers a hybrid model makes it that much more applicable given the Aviator and XC90 also offer gasoline-electric powertrains, albeit of the plug-in variety. 3 Row Luxury Crossovers Powertrains View 1 Photos Non-hybrid MDX has a 5,000-pound max tow rating. How do their performance and fuel economy compare? This one is absolutely no contest. The 400-horsepower Lincoln blows away its competitors despite having a price tag that's similar to the 310-horsepower Cadillac and in between the XC90's T5 and T6 models. At least the Acura is considerably cheaper. Besides the eye-popping output, the estimated 0-60-mph time of 5.5 seconds (gleaned from the mechanically similar Ford Explorer ST) is appreciably quicker than the others. Now, fuel economy is a bit lower, but the efficiency of Volvo's four-cylinder engines are likely more susceptible to varying due to driver differences. It should also be noted that the Cadillac gets the same combined fuel economy estimate as the Aviator despite having 90 fewer horses and 144 fewer pound-feet of torque. Just one of the ways where the XT6's prospects dim in the presence of its cross-Michigan rival. The Cadillac is also not available as a hybrid model. The others are, but are disparate. The Lincoln Aviator Grand Touring and Volvo XC90 T8 are similar in concept: range-topping models that are as much about adding performance as they are fuel economy. Their hefty price tags certainly reflect that as well.
